We have been in these apartments for a few days. Our had no terrace but there were four windows, all very clean and tidy. The mistress looked after us very well, was correct and kind. The place is very nice, there is a pool with hot water to enjoy even if it is cool. It is advisable to go there without a kid, we went there with the little one and read the rules that can not be thrown not to shout, in short, play. Because it is a very quiet place. Despite this, which has cost us God and help, that does not call or make noise, we have enjoyed it to the fullest.

Trip advisor does not let me comment on my language, Catalan.

On our road bike trip we spent one night here. It was fantastic! A wonderful location on the edge of Prades. The pool is very nicely located in the courtyard, the rooms very lovingly equipped. Breakfast also contains high-quality products. Thank you so much!

Prades was a recommendation by a friend and it did not disappoint. Domaine De La Tannerie was a wonderful highlight of our brief stay before hopping the little yellow train. The owners were delightful, helpful and they offer up a wonderful breakfast. The room was beyond charming, a magical room with view of the mountains. We could have gone out for dinner, but we liked it so much we went out to the local organic grocery co-op and brought back a finger food dinner and wine and ate while watching the stunning sunset (and moon rise). We didn't leave enough time for this part of the world but when we return, we know where we're staying!

The owners (husband and wife) were very helpful and friendly with my wife and me. I noticed they were this way with everyone. It's rather amazing how much effort they put into tastefully renovating this compound. We had a lovely, clean room which included a spa (which we did not use) in the bathroom. The landscaping around the swimming pool is beautiful. There was much to choose from in the breakfast selection and it was all beautifully arranged. Our only complaint was that there were numerous people in the courtyard below talking loudly until past midnight. We had to close our windows but then the room became too hot for comfortable sleeping. The room could use a fan.

This is much better than a hotel. The rooms are individual and themed. Great Bathroom with jacuzzi and a great view of the inner garden and the surrounding mountains. It is incredible peaceful but only a five minute walk ( including approx. 50 stairs) away from the village center.
The couple who run and own the hotel are incredible nice and are always available. The breakfast is excellent especially if you like jams and marmalade. They do their own and it is exceptional. The fig jam for sure must be unique. The couple must be collectors of art or just love different things
as decorations or indeed decorations that double up as a breakfast buffets. Smart and stylish.
The internet connection is ok but hard work at times.
The TVs are all reasonably new with USB ports and HDMI cable ports. So if you don't speak french better bring your own entertainment if you like a bit of TV in bed.. There are no English Channels. But if you have every night a three course meal and a bottle of red cotes de rousillon than you might not need it after all.
The air conditioning is also the heating and is working perfectly.
After spending a week here I am leaving tomorrow morning at 6am. And no kidding the owner is driving me to the train station as it is to much hassle to get a taxi and it might not be on time.Talking about a personal service for your customers.I'll be back for sure... .

What a lovely place. The accommodation and gardens were immaculate. We had a very nice room overlooking the pool area with its colourful plants and good seating areas. The breakfasts were very good with a great choice. There was a guests lounge and a pool table and also an honesty cabinet with soft drinks and beer. The accommodation also had a sauna steam room and hot tub which although we did not use looked very new. We also liked the secure parking for our hire car. The accommodation is in a very quiet area away from any main roads but only a 5 minute walk, uphill to the town centre. If we are ever back in the area we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Just an overnight stop in November. Lovely large room, newly decorated with Oriental flavour and en suit 'hydro spa' type bath. Lovely garden, with secure parking. We enjoyed the steam room and adjoining sauna. Tea and coffee in the room is an unusual and welcome feature in France. Breakfast was better than most without being overwhelming, staff friendly and helpful. Pool area looks good but understandably closed for winter. We will be back to try the new gym!

We planned to be in Prades for 1 night only, but wanted to stay in a B&B to get the local feel. This was one of the very few B&B to allow 1 night stay so we went with it . It came out it was an excellent choice. Well located, a short walk to the main town square. Many restaurants, cafes around so no need to drive for dinner. Nice spacious tastefully decorated rooms. Very clean, good mattresses. The pool (we didn't use the jacuzzi or spa) and garden are a plus as well. The breakfast was the best in our whole trip, fresh patisseries and crusty bread :), several home made gems and a nice selection or cheeses and hams, eggs and juices, coffee and fruits - the only complain was that we ended up spending too much time at breakfast :) - but we still made it very early to Saint Martin du Canigou, beating the crowds and having the mountain and the monastery to ourselves for a little while. This B7B is very appropriate for a base to visit most of the sites in the area.

My family and I stayed at Domaine De La Tannerie for four nights towards the end of August, having picked it largely on the basis of strong Tripadvisor reviews. We stayed with another family - friends of ours - so we had four adults and four children in total in our group.

I'm keen to set the context for my review as I feel it would be a different review had we been staying as a couple for example. The Tannerie itself is really lovely. The building is very nice and the pool area and grounds are very pleasant and well maintained. The rooms are well kept and clean and very much as they appear in the photos on the website and on Booking.com, if not a little better. The location is excellent. It’s a perfect base for exploring the immediate area and it’s only a short walk from the centre of Prades which offers shops, restaurants and cafes.

For us, the element that negatively impacted our stay was the owner. I wish to be clear that in some ways he was definitely helpful. For example he was forthcoming with good advice on what we could do locally in the region. But whilst he was most certainly not rude in any way we just all felt like we weren't made to feel at all welcome.

We arrived on our first day on a very hot day. I had actually messaged the owner via Booking.com (admittedly a good few weeks prior) to advise that our flight was quite early and that we would probably be arriving between 11 and 12. I asked whether an early check-in might be possible to which I received a reply to say that would be okay. We arrived shortly before 11am to find a sign on the door with a phone number which I rang. The owner replied and seemed completely surprised that we were there. He then came to the door and told us the check-in was not until 3 pm. After a long journey and in the heat of the day we were hoping we might be able to use the pool area while we waited for the room to be available but he told us that this was not possible. He said we could leave our bags but we needed to go elsewhere and come back at 3 o’clock. We did not know the area at all so wondered aimlessly up into the town and literally sat in a café before returning at 3 where he greeted us and showed us to our room. He really overly laboured the point that most of his guests were older repeat customers, that the pool area was a very quiet, calm area and that our children had to be quiet and respectful. Given we had booked a family room we thought this was a little bit excessive. Add that to our first contact that morning and as a start it just didn’t set a particularly good tone for the stay.

A build up of lots of little things over the next four days combined to ensure that the tone never really improved. The cover was often on the pool in the morning. I noted that it was still on at 9:30 one day and we didn’t feel like we should need to go and ask to have it removed to have a morning swim so I ended up not swimming. There is a hot tub area which remained covered and closed up the entire duration of our stay. Has it been offered to us and made available we would most likely have used it one evening but in the end we did not. And there were other 'OCD' incidents that prevented us from feeling especially relaxed there. One day the owner came through the open door right into our room and told us off for having it open with the air con on in the room. On another occasion he had the leaf blower on all around us as we relaxed by the pool. And he asked for the kids to not be so noisy in the pool on more than one occasion.

Overall, it just felt like he didn’t particularly want to have children staying at his property which is not what what you would expect from a rental that has a couple of family rooms. Throw in the other factors I've mentioned and desite the lovely setting we just didn’t feel particular relaxed or welcome there and constantly a little on edge. As I said at the start of the review, in all other aspects it's a lovely place and I do feel that had we been travelling as a couple our experience would’ve been very different.

We booked three days in Prades. The town is awful and this place saved our holiday from ruin. We attempted to do the valley by public transport using Prades as a base. Other than the petit train jaune, this proved to be problematic....so we're stuck in a dowdy town with not much to do...

Well we needn't have worried. We spent an excellent day by the pool, in the hot tub, using the sauna and steam room. The Domaine de la Tannerie really does have five star facilities. Better still it has none of the pretention of a five star hotel. The hosts are good, honest, kind and hard-working folk who have put a great deal of thought (and not a small amount of investment) into making this a welcoming place to stay.

Quite simply one of the best places we have ever stayed.
