I almost didn't write this review as this is such a cool camp site! Ile de Re is just off the coast of France by La Rochelle, you reach it by driving over a long an toll bridge. The island boasts it's very own "micro climate". When we arrived, it had been raining solidly for two hours drive, on reaching...

I stayed at this site in May 2013 and wish I had never made a booking. Compared to other places I have stayed on Isle de Re in the many years I have been coming to this delightful island this site is the worse I have ever stayed at. awesome holiday, during which we tested for the first time the tents "canada", simple and comfortable. The comfort of a rental and camping's spirit n a tent. i went with my little family with 3 chidren, perfect location, a good catering with a fresh bread every morning. my children had fun and didnt get bored one second!! am so happy....

Read the previous review and started dreading our holiday - it could not have been better. The campsite is calm and quiet, there is lots of space between pitches (unusual on Coastal campsites in France), everyone was vey friendly, the static tent we had was cheap (€250/week late booking price), it was brand new, spotlessly clean with a huge veranda....

We were supposed to stop at this site for a week in early July. We arrived just before 1.00pm and despite the receptionist seeing us at the barrier she closed the door and locked us out while she had her lunch break. Eventually we were told to go to pitch number 98 and sent on our way with our caravan....
