The Cesar is a good example of the French tradition of giving relatively more importance to the quality of food and relatively less importance to the level of comfort in lodging. pros: beautiful view from the terrace and dining room; excellent food - beautifully prepared meals!; good place to unplug; town less touristy than Gordes; proximity to L'Enclos des Bories...

we stayed here in may '15 (this was our 2nd visit), the hotel is great especially the room terraces, we also ate in the restaurant(twice) which is exceptional. Pierre Yves is the ultimate host and is very welcoming, I highly recommend this hotel and the town is one not to be missed.

First time to the Provence for both of us and found the Hotel Cesar a suitable place to hang for a few days. Warm accommodating staff, cozy rooms (ours #15 had a great view and balcony) and more than suitable breakfast. Although I echo the other reviews, a little updating is needed, but we would definitely return.

It is very difficult to score this hotel. As I wrote elsewhere, the location and the restaurant of the hotel are excellent. Also the service was good. The building, however, would benefit of an in-depth renovation. The wooden stairs to the second flood made an unpleasant noise. So did all night also the door to the balcony.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Hotel Cesar in Bonnieux. We have stayed there several times since 2007 and have always had a brilliant holiday. The food is superb and genuine french cuisine in the restaurant which has panoramic views of Mont Ventoux and the Luberon. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is exemplary. We...

The hotel was clean, simple and the view fantastic. There is no lift so you must be able bodied. The staff is most attentive to luggage etc. The access to the terrace is small so you must watch your head but it is so worth it. The owner is most helpful and we enjoyed a very modern stand up shower...

The views that this hotel affords are absolutely stunning. Our walking tour company booked us here for two nights and it was great to see the panoramic view of the area we had just hiked. We stayed on the top floor in a triple room which was spacious, clean and had comfortable beds. The room was basic but the patio...

We stayed in a twin bedded room for one night in mid September after a days drive from Cahors. Our room had a balcony with table & chairs and tremendous views over the village and beyond across the valley. At night the castle in the village on the hilltop opposite was lit up. At 3am an electric storm arrived for...

The view from our room was fantastic, room clean and very nice modern bathroom. Never ate at the Hotel, but the menu looked good! Good value for money. Used this as a base for 3days from where we travelled to other small towns daily. It really is a beautiful area.
