We elected to stay in Levanto to be close enough to Cinque Terre without the frenzy of the five villages. Train from/to Levanto allows easy access to any of the villages and is included in the Cinque Terre pass. The hotel is located on the hill above town and I would recommend to have a car (5 to 10 minutes... More

We were 2 couples who stayed here for 1 night in October. We were looking to get away from the tourist scene in Monterosso and just relax. Check in was quick and easy and our rooms were very spacious with room to store our clothes. Since we had been staying in a hotel with very small rooms, which is not... More

Positives - lovely view, great breakfast, large well appointed rooms (well, not all, see negatives). Negatives - extremely far from the center of town, nickeled and dimed (charge for the shuttle to town (given the lack of proximity, they really should offer a daily complimentary ride), and overpriced small glasses of wine from their 'bar'. Also when we checked in,... More

We stayed at Hotel Al Terra di Mare for 2 nights in September 2016 and it was very enjoyable. The hotel is a little isolated which we liked but may not be for everyone. Levanto is the next town across from Monterosso and on the same train line as the five towns so very accessible. The hotel offers a helpful... More

Definitely not a four stars hotel but rather a decent three stars. Sightseeing is ordinary. The valley is boring and the hotel is at a significant distance from the sea and Levanto village. However, the staff is courteous and the shuttle between the hotel and the train station (train will lead you at Cinque terre) or downtown Levanto is efficient.... More

I was awakened at 5:15 AM. Yesterday I think the barking started at around 7:00 but the night before it was off and on all night. I got here because of positive Trip Advisor reviews but I am flummoxed that travelers have enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are lovely, the setting beautiful but peaceful it is not. I sleep with... Our room was pleasant, airy and had everything we needed - very clean, quality fitments with no frills. Peaceful. Spectacular views from the room and the terrace. The management and staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful, and the breakfasts were an amazing start to the day.

Nice hotel but a little expensive in our view. Only a couple of miles from the town, but not a route you would want to walk. The hotel offers a pre-booked shuttle €5 each way but you can park by the station for 24 hours for about the same amount. If you want a terrace with your room, you will... More

This hotel was fantastic. It's perched on a tall hill overlooking the town of Levanto. Although the hotel is removed from the town center and beach, they provide a free shuttle service to go to and from the town as you please. We used the shuttle multiple times a day, it was so handy! They have a lovely breakfast in... More

we spent three nights in early August, and loved it. the place is like a very small village, with a centrally located beautiful terrace overlooking the countryside and, farther away, the sea. it is also very conveniently located just a couple of miles from Levanto, which is a very enjoyable small city. the rooms were super clean, and breakfast very... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in Levanto, the door to the Cinque Terre, Hotel Al Terra di Mare recalls a small Ligurian village, surrounded by silence of vineyards and olive-trees. The hotel is designed as a typical village and the rooms have an independent entrance on picturesque alleyways leading to the Piazzetta, a panoramic terrace overlooking the valley and the sea where the bar is located (with free WiFi). The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, have free internet access (Wi-Fi and cable), air conditioning, minibar and private bathroom with shower. Some rooms overlook the narrow streets, others have panoramic views over the valley or the sea, and some have balconies or terraces. In summer you can enjoy a beautiful outdoor pool where drinks and ice creams are available in the cool shade of the pines. Breakfast is served on a nice terrace overlooking the sea, it offers a rich buffet of fresh and local products. The hotel has free parking, a garage, a shuttle service to the beach, the center and the train station (2 km away). Using solar energy with photovoltaic and solar panels, installed on the roofs, the hotel meets most of its energy needs fully respecting the environment. ... more   less
