My husband and I stayed at il borgo and found it to be a very positive experience. I was 23 weeks pregnant at the time and the staff were great. They were friendly and attentive at all times and no request was too much for them. Yes the hotel was a little bit tricky to find but the hotel sent...

We stayed at Il Borgo, one of the for properties that make up Gole Alcantara Agriturismo. Although many have suggested it was difficult to find, if you actually read all the instructions, it's not difficult at all. The room was big, clean and had a wonderful view. The pool was clean and nice. The staff were great. Many have suggested...

We stayed at Il Borgo for a week. Just what we wanted in terms of its rural location - lovely views whilst relaxing by the pool. The building is charming and the staff were friendly. The only real let down was the food - probably call it 'local rustic cooking' - you could eat it, but it was not particularly...

It was a weekend trip for us and we booked this hotel in combination with tuifly flight to Sicilia. We knew that driving in Italy is not always pleasant but Sicilia topped this impression. I am not the worst driver - but when you are getting really clamped on highway from both sides by sicilians when you are driving 120...

We stayed in one of the possible sites in the Gole Alcantara national park. We stayed at Il Borgo Antico. The hotel has wonderful views of the mountains and is surrounded by lime and olive trees. The food was excellent, local produce and the welcome warm. Our room was large and airy with an en-suite bathroom. Even in October it...

My husband and I travelled to Gole Alcantara via rental car after arriving in Palermo. As there was no navigation / GPS system available, we had to rely on a map to find it. Tip: do NOT attempt a shortcut through the mountains to take a more direct route from Palermo (as we did) rather than stay on the main...

Just spent 3 nights at Il Borgo, one of 4 small hotels that make up the "Gole Alcantara Parco Botanico e Geologico" that we booked through Expedia. You go into the cafe at the entrance to the gorge to get your instructions where you are staying and we were at the 4star Il Borgo a couple of minutes back down...

We stayed for 4 nights in the beautiful alcantara valley. Very relaxing and peaceful. Lovely swimming pool, views, and close to the alcantara river. Also can easily do day trips to taormina from here. Having seen taormina, we were much happier staying here and day tripping!

We spent 4 nights at Il Borgo. We were a family of 4 with 2 young kids, 9 and 7 years. Actually initially booked into La Casa del Monache but when we arrived there after a 3 hour drive directed to Il Borg for some reason. Our stay was fantastic wtih a lovely "flatlet" two bedrooms, quite big for a...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gole Alcantara for a week in June. There are actually 4 different hotels run by the Gole, in the same area but not attached. We stayed at Il Borgo, an old farmhouse in a beautiful location in the Sicilian countryside. The first thing is that it can be a little confusing when you...
