This hotel really is spectacularly located overlooking the valley below and its own vineyards. The main building is a beautiful old "castle" (big house) set in great grounds. They have converted and extended what looked like was the old chapel into more bedrooms - these are new and air-conditioned, but quite honestly we would have preferred to stay in the...

While on holiday in Tuscany we had the absolute pleasure and delight of visiting Castello Vicchiomaggio. We went on a wine tasting tour around the vine yards, cellar and castle as well as being treated to a wonderful 3 course Tuscan lunch. We were shown around personally by the owner John and his family as well as the delightful and...

This Castello was the perfect spot for a vacation in Tuscany. The grounds and views were beautiful and it was very quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend attending the dinner and tour of the wine cellars, which includes a tasting of the wines they produce. The food was great and it was a very nice...

Absolutely wonderful place to stay with magnificent views of the surrounding area. Very accommodating staff who are very glad to help you. Room was super clean and Federica was very helpful to us all weekend.

We can't recommend highly enough the experience at Castello Vicchiomaggio. The mountaintop views are unparalleled, the rooms are spacious (and many include mini-kitchens), the gardens are stunning, and the infinity pool is posh. We will be back to stay at Vicchiomaggio every time we're in the area, which, by the way, is located conveniently near many destinations. If the castle...

I just arrived here by chance and got really surprised after few disappointing french and italian hotels. At this moment, I'm tasting an excelent wine and perfect for a rainy day... The view from my apartment is incredible! It is just on the top of a nice hill! That's why I could see it from far away... I wish I...

Castello Vicchiomaggio is beautifully located and has the most stunning of views but despite this we found staying there a most disappointing experience. The rooms are reasonably well presented but they are extremely cold , even at the beginning of June . There are heaters in the room but they barely work and are insufficent to heat the rooms. There...

We spent a night doing the wine tour and having dinner and this place has some of the best olive oil we have ever had. We regret not buying some when we were there. The wine tour was excellent and the staff giving the tour was wonderful even after we were 30 minutes late to the tasting. Their Chianti Classico...

This was a beautiful place to stay with comfortable, warm beds, nice new bathrooms and unbelievable views. The good thing to know about finding this place is that there is a hotel with a similar name outside Greve (Vinniomaggio) and that you need to go another kilometer or so to Greti to find Vicchiomaggio. Another helpful thing is that if...

We spent this past weekend here, the first weekend of the season for the Castello, and we were the only guests. It was cold and rainy, definitely not a classic Tuscan weekend, but it was still a pleasure. A different side of Tuscany. Clean and comfortable suite with a kitchen and separate bedroom. The hosts are friendly and helpful and...
