We stayed here for four nights as we were attending a family wedding in Calla Mijas. I reserved two double rooms via email and, after reading reviews here, requested rooms on the higher floors. The hotel is tucked away off a small square in the centre of Mijas, it's so peaceful but is within walking distance of bars and restaurants....

We've stayed in top hotels all over the world and whilst this isn't 5 star luxury it's absolutely perfect for a budget stay in a beautiful part of Spain. This hotel is clean and comfortable, is in a brilliant location and for the money you'll struggle to find better. The booking process was efficient and the staff are very friendly....

We stayed only one night but enjoyed it very much. The price is reasonable, we paid €50 per night. No breakfast, no wifi except near the reception, but the rooms were lovely, decorated with unique furniture and accents, not compressed wood from Ikea. The whole place is spotlessly clean. The views of the two rooms we had were spectacular. I...

We stayed for tow nights here and I must say, if we were to go back, we would choose it again. From the moment we walked in (and you have to walk just a teeny bit from the bus stand or the car park), the lady at the reception- Margarita, was very warm and friendly(also speaks very good english). They...

This hotel was totally a good find. Was drawn to it by the photos firstly. To say we found a jewel would be an understatement. We stayed 5 nights in a top floor room where the rooms have the most spectacular views out across Mijas. The room was spotless, homely and plenty big enough. The en suite bathroom had everything...

Lastholidayvideo stayed at the el escudo de mijas hotel this week. We were so confident with the reviews the hotel had. We even took our friends with us. We stayed four nights and loved every minute. We arrived extremely late on a Friday evening, pressed the buzzer on the door, didn't wait longer than 30 seconds. The door was opened...

Located in the old town, you need to park near the bull ring and then its a quick walk down to the square and then right up some steps by the leather shop. I mention directions as when Mijas is busy it can be confusing when searching the place out. Charming receptionist who is on hand till 7ish each evening,...

Let me be very clear about this lodging. It is not a hotel in the true sense of the word; there is only one person on the desk, which is situated by the door; no cafe, no breakfast room, no dining room, no bar and no staff apart from this one young lady and, I presume, cleaning staff, although we...

Stayed here for 3 nights and really loved it. Spotlessly clean and good sized room/bathroom. Lashings of hot water and clean linen daily. Marguerita the receptionist was very kind and helpful to us. No breakfast but we found a delightful little bakery in the main street which served a very tasty toastada and cafe con leche. Hotel is right in...

This is a true gem. We went for the Mijas Blues Festival on 6th July 2012 for 3 nights and stayed in El Escudo de Mijas. We were in room 10 on the top floor. WHAT A VIEW!!!!! The hotel is in the best location you could imagine, right in the centre of Mijas. Our room was lovely, great bathroom,...
