Surrounded by narrow lanes and streets this charming hotel is ideally situated near the historic centre of Ubeda. The management were very friendly and gave accurate directions to both a nearby car park and an ideal local restaurant. The room was comfortable and quiet even though it overlooked the small road outside. The outstanding memory of this hotel was the...

Clean, quiet well located hotel downtown, super friendly staff, Jesus the front person gave us great information about tours, things to see and places to eat, Building is a nice old palace gothic style from 1865 with a central court yard, we like the building more than the parador, it has more character. Great breakfast

stayed here for one night night during our recent tour around the area. hotel is located on a very narrow cobbled street in the centre of the old town of Ubeda. the town is amazing with plenty of restaurants and tavernas to eat at but many don't seem to open until after 9pm with the whole area coming to life...

The Hotel Alvar Fañez is an attractive heritage building in the heart of a beautiful town with many lovely historic buildings. We noted that there were few other English-speaking visitors and feel they are missing a great destination. Ubeda is not only worth visiting in itself, it is also a good base from which to visit Baeza and Jaén for...

We visited Ubeda, slightly off the typical tourist trail of Seville, Cordoba and Granada, because we were keen to spend time in the Cazorla National Park, which is 1-2 hours' drive away. However, the city is also stunning and this elegant courtyard hotel contributed to making our stay really great. For a very reasonable rate we had an entrance room...

The Hotel Alvar Fañez is a real find. Delightful former palace with a beautiful inner patio. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Ubeda is just a beautiful town. The staff at the Alvar Fañez goes out of their way to recommend their city, restaurants and where to shop. Valentin and his sister made us feel right at home. I...

Hotel was reasenable.no bar or restaurant was open. Breakfast OK. ubeda is an historic city . Walking around a few hours is enough to get an impression. We thought we need 3 days to visit Jaen, Baeza and Ubeda. But 2 is enough.

We spent two nights at this hotel and had a great experience. The building is located in the historical centre and is just lovely. Breakfast is included and it was one of the best we had in Spain, featuring some local food. But best of all features is the staff. Nothing was too much for them and they made us...

This is a lovely old very atmospheric hotel in a great location, in the centre of the old town. The property has previously been a palace and school. The staff could not have been more helpful and the free breakfast was very good.
