Just returned from this hotel after 10 days holiday We’ve visited twice before but last time was around 10 years ago. It was so nice to return to Cala Bona and was exactly as we remembered it, the hotel too is much the same with some improvements. This hotel is family owned and is celebrating its centenary next year which is something to be proud of. The staff are all, without exception, so warm, friendly and helpful, probably the best thing about this place. Pool area is improved with great bar and restaurant, and a special mention to Juan(everyone calls him John but he is Spanish so come on!) he is without doubt the best holiday aqua aerobics instructor ever, and I’ve been travelling 50years. He’s also so kind and helpful with the disabled and anyone in the pool area. The food was not quite as good as we remember it years ago but the world has changed a lot and all businesses have had to adjust accordingly so we accept that. To be clear the food is very good but just not exceptional like it was. The superior rooms are very smart, bathrooms are sleek and modern, however we found the beds too low to the floor and not as comfortable and luxurious as they could be. Maybe an upgrade is on the cards. Perhaps the only real downside to this hotel is the location, there’s no faulting the beautiful outlook over the harbour but the transfer from the airport is just too long, anything between 90-120 mins depending on drop-offs/pick ups. Not the hotel’s fault but the fact we returned 3 times despite the transfer shows that this hotel is worth it in so many ways.

Stayed here for 4 nights after a cruise. Couldn't fault the staff, food, room etc. They opened the dining room at 5.30 a.m. one day for people with an early departure. Even have a separate toaster for coeliacs. Situation was great for us, easy flat walking round the bay. We have booked again for next year, but direct with the hotel, so we get things like the fridge & hairdryer included. Tui should negotiate with the hotel to provide them. Loved the decor in La Pergola, the building we were in.

Worst hotel i have ever staying in. Basic things that you would expect had a charge. Charge for the safe, charge to have a fridge, charge to use a sunbed towel and even a charge for the hair dryer. These are not deposits they are daily charges. Its disgusting that Tui is selling this hotel and not making people aware of everything being an extra. Also a massive construction site next door with a huge crane that was left sa over us while on a sunbed. Couldnt relax for the banging and drilling and also feeling unsafe under the crane. Hotel does not even give you tea and coffee replenishments after the first day. They say the first day is a gift and thats it. Can not believe Tui is taking money from people for this.

We enjoyed ten days half board here and cannot fault the hotel for comfort, cleanliness, food and the excellent staff. The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean, the food was very good with plenty of choice given what we paid for the holiday. The evening entertainment was better than the usual and the pool area was well kept with plenty of sunbeds with a poolside bar and cafe area . The rooms were air conditioned with a fridge, kettle and UK TV, to be frank there was nothing to complain about. Worth special mention are Jordi and John at the pool area but all of the staff were pleasant and knew their jobs well. The hotel is well situated on the front, not too noisy but not dead either with some bars and restaurants opposite, Janet and John's just over the way offer very friendly service at lunchtime with plenty of choice at reasonable prices but unfortunately I would definitely advise against going to the Bonanza sandwich shop immediately next door to the hotel owing to the owners unpleasant attitude. Fortunately though she is the exception as all of the other businesses that we frequented were very welcoming.

Quirky Hotel with 5 separate buildings. No hotel grounds/garden areas but located at a lovely little harbour. Advertised as beach 1 minute walk away but don't tell you that's a tiny triangle of shale and stone, as is the next one a few minutes walk further on, so the only small sandy beach is actually 5/6 NOT 1 minute away. Food at hotel mediocre and boring. Hotel kept very clean and towels changed daily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Seemed to cater mostly for older/retired guests, although that may be just the time of year. Entertainment nightly but, with age range of guests acts need to be amended. Gorgeous pool and surrounding area with lovely lifeguard on duty who also does aqua aerobic class daily. Nothing much of other venues or shops close by, but only 20/25 minute walk takes you to Cala Millor with huge range of shops, restaurants etc.

Just back from spending a week at this hotel and loved it. Food, service, staff and entertainment were great. Only negative is there is building work next to hotel so some constant noise and a large crane was operating over Hotel Cala Bona's pool area but hopefully this is only temporary. We normally don't bother with hotel entertainment but it was excellent every night and made the holiday for us. The staff are really great and nothing was too much bother. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back.

Not a good experience here. Room 155 was the smallest of rooms overlooking a back alley with a noisy cafe bar open all hours!! There was inadequate sound proofing so sleep was very difficult. Hairdryer and fridge extra charge . Lack of hairdryer seemed very penny pinching. Around the pool there was a large crane and building work and noise. Shame on you tui for selling us this room
