Inturotel Sa Marina is celebrated for its exceptional cleanliness and friendly staff, with guests lauding the well-maintained rooms and common areas. The hotel's location earns high marks for being within easy reach of the town center, marina, and beaches. While some guests appreciate the lively atmosphere and variety of pools, others suggest that the entertainment could be improved and note issues with noise and early sunbed reservation. Opinions on value are mixed, with meal prices seen as reasonable, but some feel extras and room rates are overpriced.

Just back from our second stay at this hotel. We were self catering but did go to the buffet for dinner and breakfast once. Excellent choice but the actually room felt very stuffy and in covid times defo needs more air flow. I have a child that is a cialiac and I have to commend the chef and hotel on the choice of food, knowledge of the chef fresh chips choc brownie etc. Really amazing. Unfortunately your pool side restaurant really leaves you down all that he could get there was a salad that was it. Which was a real shame. Both pools gorgeous but all the kids are getting swimmers ear. I didn't see the life guards check the water once while I was there so I am wondering how clean the water actually is. Also this time only allowed floats with a hole in the middle. This needs to be said on check in as a lot of parents wasting money to discover they can't use even a small lylow (we purchased the same one as we were allowed 3 years ago which was much safer then a large ring float but not allowed). Also this time the reserving of sun beds between 7-8am for a pool that opens at 10 was just such a shame. I had to get up every morning but last time signs were put on the beds which stopped this. I myself say 6 beds reserved for the entire day. No one sat on them the people came back and collected their towels that evening. Our last day the signs did go on the beds but that was it. The towels were never actually removed. Other wise staff fab, rooms so clean and when we did get ants sorted straight away. Pool lovely and location amazing. Another amazing holiday thank you.

Dear Customer, Your review made us very happy! Future guests will find your comments very useful. We are very sorry for all the inconvenience during your stay here, regarding the quality of our water pool, every day the quality is checked and sent to the local authorities. For reference, lylows were never allowed in our pools, but we were less aware of it, our lifeguards can't see under the big inflatables, anyway, the rules are on the board, we suggest reading the rules to avoid accidents unnecessary. We hope to see you soon. Kind regards from Cala d'Or, Inturotel crew

We stayed in Sa Marina for 10 days in peak August season after carefully consideration after reading several reviews of this hotel and others in the cala d'or area and must admit it was a good decision. As many reviewers have stated the hotel is spotlessly clean with polite hard working staff and a real good family vibe about the hotel with lots going on if the kids chose to get involved. 2 good sized pools and lots of sunbeds with availability generally pretty good before 10am though the usual lunatics will reserve sun loungers before 8am! In fairness the staff do their upmost to avoid the reserving of beds by placing cards on offending beds giving them 40mins to use the loungers otherwise they remove the towels which is good to see! Cannot comment on the food as we went self catering but few families we befriended who went half board said the hotel food was of good quality. In terms of the rooms we stayed on a ground floor pool view overlooking the pool bar and entertainment stage. Despite initially being a little concerned about privacy and noise it worked out pretty fine with most entertainment wrapping up around 11pm. Rooms were functional and clean with towels and maid service every day. The staff work so hard I cannot commend them enough! Beds are OK but main gripe being the 2 single mattresses pulled together to make a double bed in bedroom which quite often separated leaving a gap which made for an uncomfortable night's sleep! Loved the family vibe about the hotel and its location to both the main town which had some lovely bars & restaurants and also to the marina & beaches which were all within a 5/10 minute walk. Also important for us being self catering was spar supermarket literally across the road from the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this hotel and only real gripe (as some other reviewers have mentioned) is the ridiculous charge of €35 for the use of a safe for our stay which really should be included as standard for a hotel of this quality. Special thanks for the hotel for allowing us to use our room until 1pm without charge on our last day due to later flight home.

My partner and I stayed here for a week, half board via Tui.
We were in block 3 in a studio room on the 2nd floor overlooking the garden.
The room was very large, wet room type bathroom, two large very comfortable beds with new pillows.
It was very quiet, you couldn’t hear noise from adjoining rooms or the corridor.
You could hear the pool fountains and entertainment from your large balcony but indoors with the patio doors closed it was barely discernible.
Some comments moan about air conditioning noise but we found it very efficient and unobtrusive.
The cleanliness, staff and facilities were exemplary.
The food choices at both breakfast and dinner were extremely varied.
There’s even a chef at each sitting to cook some dishes fresh.
The food was high quality and catered for every taste and was so good we never felt the need to eat anywhere else.
There was never a problem getting a sun bed or parasol and no one reserved these.
Reception supplied pool towels which can be changed every day.
Entertainment was provided every evening outside by the pool bar.
We paid for a room safe but it was not expensive.
Overall a fantastic hotel and stay.
Negatives? Very busy with families in school holidays.

The good points, great location for this resort. The cleaners are excellent throughout the hotel. Swimming pools are great, the accommodation is good. A few of the staff are really engaging and make the experience special.

The bad points, food is very beige and average at best. There are choices, the food is mostly precooked and often gets cold. Some food is cooked in front of you, but again it doesn’t keep and often goes cold if not taken. The dining experience is very noisy and extremely busy at times. Get your timing right to avoid the peak times. The tables are definitely too close together.
Wifi is garbage. Patchy in many places and unstable, I found this to be a frustrating issue.
Gym/fitness centre is very small, but it does have enough equipment for a session. One room per hour, this is managed on a strict basis and often gets booked up making it difficult to get a slot.
The drinks are served in really small glasses, especially the soft drinks. A large beer is not large!
Sunbeds get taken early, with nowhere near enough umbrellas to shade you from the sunlight.
Overall I would say this is an OK place to stay, but not to the 4* standards one would expect.

We have just got back from our holiday and overall were very impressed with the hotel in terms of cleanliness, staff (Maria Carmen was so lovely in the restaurant and was a credit to the hotel) and overall experience. We were half board which was convenient and we always found something delicious to eat. We found it best to avoid busy times (7-8pm) but there was plenty of choice and loved the specials that they did too. Our daughter ate well and loved the deserts!

The sunbeds issue is not uncommon and it was frustrating to see so many towels down before 8am when the pool opens at 10am. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility around that time so managed to find a spot and read our books so at least were present and not reserving beds with no intention of arriving until late morning. The lifeguards did start to put signs up and we saw them remove towels too on one occasion. Perhaps there’s a better way to control this in the morning with a patrol before the lifeguard arrives at 10am?

The major downside for us was the noise at night from the local area, which although wasn’t in the hotels control, it was an issue that we feel they need to address for their guests comfort. Reading other recent reviews, it seems we are not alone on this matter. This is a luxe hotel according to Jet2 holidays who we booked through, so expectations were higher than other hotels we had considered.

We had requested a room that was in a quieter location due to one of our group having a disability. This wasn’t accommodated which was a shame but the room was lovely and clean so we didn’t make a fuss. Our room (1216) was in the main block above reception but faced the road/parking. This was the issue for us and thank goodness we had ear plugs! Even wearing these, I was awoken on several nights by extremely loud music and singing from a car parked directly under our balcony.

I did speak to the receptionist the following morning who informed me the that this was due to a local festival that weekend but would see what her supervisor could do. We never received a response which I thought was poor considering the hotel was otherwise very good. Unfortunately for us and no doubt other guests staying nearby this problem continued throughout our 9 day stay. It seems that the local population prefer to be awake until dawn (no doubt due to the heat of the day) and can be very anti social shouting and driving around with loud music and beeping their horns at passers by. I only feel it’s fair to warn you of this as it was the one and only (but important) issue that means we would look to stay somewhere else next year sadly.

The Sa Marina hotel has a great location and the cleaning staff do a fantastic job cleaning the rooms with the facilities they have at their disposal.
Unfortunately that’s really where the good points end…
We spent 2 weeks at Sa Marina at the end of July/ beginning of August. The pool areas look fantastic but the reality of the situation is that it’s almost impossible to get a sun bed by the pool as people wake up at 6am and reserve the sun-beds for the rest of the day. We saw one lifeguard in our 14 day stay remove 3 families towels that had reserved them for the entire day. This isn’t good enough. The issue seems to be that the pools areas are just not big enough for the number of guests at the hotel.
Unfortunately the sides of the pools also had algae and mould growing in the grates and the grout of the pool as well.
Perhaps we were unlucky but we were also given a room on a very busy road and where regularly woken by traffic noise and people walking home from bars at night. The ground floor balcony also looked into other buildings so their was little privacy and a dead hedge to look at, despite management putting up outdoor curtains as a solution. You don’t really want to close yourself in especially when it’s windy or there’s no wind and it’s 35 degrees. An innovative solution that doesn’t solve a much bigger problem.

I noticed that the Sa Marina has a 4 star rating and having traveled extensively all over the world I would by no means rate this a 4 star hotel. (Closer to 2.5 stars and at the absolute most 3)

Overall I feel that this hotel is highly overpriced for the quality that is provided to the hotel’s guests.

Dear Myatix, Thank you very much for your review and feedback. We consider your comments very valuable, as they help us with our efforts to continually improve our services. Regarding the pool or garden view, it is available if the guest booked it in advance, and with additional cost, the view can be arranged at the reception. Regarding the lifeguard task and the sunbed reservation, thank you for your honest opinion, it is a difficult subject and difficult to please everyone. The lifeguards remove the towels that are unused for more than 40 minutes but not at the request of other guests, we are sorry. We hope to have another opportunity to meet your expectations soon. Yours sincerely, INTUROTEL CREW

A fabulous hotel in a lovely part of Mallorca. The rooms are spacious with a large balcony and small kitchenette. The cleanliness and service from all the staff was exemplary.
We were on the top floor in the block where reception is which had a view of the quieter pool and hills in the distance; watching the sunset from the balcony was perfect.
Our daughter who is 9 slept on one of the two sofa beds; she slept well but we would have preferred an actual mattress ( the sofa was very firm and not really hygenic due to the lack of a mattress protector) .The sofabeds wouldn't suit a tall teenager or those who prefer a soft mattress!

The air conditioning was loud, but you could shut the door to the noise as there was a vent into the bedroom. Luckily, our daughter wasn't disturbed or bothered about the noise.
The food was amazing! There was lots of choice and it changed each night. We have previously stayed in 5 star hotels in Mallorca and the food at Sa Marina was just as good. The food at breakfast was great too with a large selection of hot and cold food. We stayed half board, but I think we will stay for bed and breakfast next time and take advantage of the many restaurants in Cala D'Or and pay day by day if we want to eat dinner at the hotel.

There are two large pools with a small toddler/ baby pool in both. There are plenty of sunloungers, but you need to reserve with towels the beds with parasols. Unlike other hotels we have stayed in, you only need to go down between half seven and eight to reserve. The hotel does not like the donut inflatables with long necks i.e flamingoes etc and the lifeguards will ask you not to use them. They never gave a reason, but the hotel should make this clear when you check in to stop people buying them.

The entertainment was generally good with lots of tribute acts; the BeeGees and Adele were very good. The cocktails were lovely and there was quite a large selection. Cala D'Or itself is a lovely town and very family/ couples orientated. There is also the Marina which has bars and pricier restaurants. The hotel is really well located and you can walk to both within ten/ fifteen minutes. The beach is only a ten minute walk away and although it gets busy is worth a visit.
We will definitely be returning in the future, without Derek the inflatable flamingo!

We had a great time at this hotel. The location was just right for us, it was very central and our room overlooked a street but we didn’t experience noise, we actually liked people watching from the 2nd floor balcony and it was quite scenic but quiet enough so our sleep wasn’t disturbed. Beach was only 10 mins max away and you would walk to it through the shady streets and browse in shops on the way so it seemed nearer.

We were pleased that we had selected half board, our kids can be fussy but they enjoyed the meals as much as we did. We thought the choice was great and liked how different things were cooked in front of us each day - waffles, enchiladas, pancakes, plus a joint of carvery meat most nights. Yes some things are “samey” but they are the popular items (chips, bread, salad, ice cream, pasta) and there is loads of other variety. Everyone seemed to be indulging so I think the food generally went down well. Overall it was probably cheaper and easier than eating out each night although there were some amazing restaurants locally.

We loved the pool bar where we had some nice light lunches, (filled bagels, hot dogs, pizza). The evening entertainment (Elvis and Michael Jackson were fun after a few drinks), the helpful staff who spoke amazing English (I’m always ashamed I speak no Spanish, sorry.). The setting was fab and the pool and grounds well maintained.

Our room was spacious with a handy mini kitchen for making lunches, hot drinks etc. and a fridge for our balcony wine. This saved us a bit of money buying drinks and lunches out.

My only teeny niggles were that the sunbeds got reserved very early, on the last morning we left for the airport at 7.30am and some towels were already placed. This is a problem in most hotels so can’t really blame the Sa Marina and they did have an overflow garden area with some sunbeds in the shade which we used each day. But perhaps some signs telling people not to reserve might help a bit. Also drinks at dinner were expensive, a jug of tap water with meals would have been nice so that purchasing drinks was optional. Didn’t like the look of the indoor bar area but luckily we had great weather and didn’t need to use it. These are very minor niggles and I would rate 4.5 if I could.

Couldn't say one bad thing about the Sa Marina Hotel. Everything is superb, from the extremely friendly staff, a nod to Huginio, Matthew, Dolores & Pedro, all of whom go above and beyond and always with a smile on their face.
The cleanliness of the hotel is brilliant, our room was serviced everyday, we even saw the cleaning staff polishing the lifesaving rings around the pool, no corners cut & no shortcuts taken!
You will see the hotel manager constantly floating around, overlooking & making sure his ship is ran smoothly. Also extremely friendly & polite.
There was no issue with sunbeds, we were there for the 1st two weeks in August and there was plenty available, without getting up at crazy o'clock to reserve them. The lifeguard starts at 10am & if you have beds reserved you have 40 mins if left unattended, if you arent on your beds by then your towels are folded up & placed aside by the lifeguard.
All in all, it's a 10 out of 10 for us, you can see why families return year in year out.
Until next year Sa Marina

Travelled to Sa Marina Hotel with my husband and 17 year old daughter. Hotel was fantastic with great facilities and pleasant staff. Hotel was spotless throughout and was in a prefect location, approx 5 min walk to resort centre and 10 min walk to beach and Marina. Pool bar served delicious food which was reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
