Nestled on a picturesque beachfront and surrounded by attractions, Zel Mallorca garners praise for its prime location, though parking is noted as a drawback. The chic, modern rooms are a hit for their stylish comfort, but housekeeping and noise have been concerns for some. Guests laud the attentive service, despite occasional lapses in efficiency.
The hotel boasts a vibrant atmosphere and an array of amenities, including pools and a spa, which impress guests. However, opinions on value suggest that some services, like dining, are seen as costly. The cleanliness of the hotel consistently receives high marks.

Detailed Reviews

The hotel is new and very beautiful. You will not be disappointed with the decoration, the location opposite the beach and the incredible free buffet breakfast.
Regarding the customer experience we won't say the same thing.. & it's a shame because everything could have been perfect..
It is unclear whether the hotel's priority is outside guests or in-hotel guests.
The swimming pool:
Very few deckchairs for the summer period, in the morning it's a bit of a race against time to manage to get one. Many times towels are removed from the deckchair to make room for other customers.
The influencers parade and are pampered before your eyes & the beach club customers also come to enjoy the swimming pool.
Which creates quite a discord with the places by the pool.
Car park:
There is certainly parking under the hotel but again it is impossible for us to park our car there.
In the morning we were told no problem parking the car there in the evening that we would just have to draw up the card when we returned in the evening because there were still 4 spaces available.
In the evening as soon as you park 5 minutes in front of the hotel in the free spaces, they come running and tell you that you should not stay there and that the parking lot is full. They keep the places for outside customers who come to eat at the restaurant.
You will be told to go looking for a “white” place in the seaside resort.
However, hotel guests told us that many spaces were available very late in the evening when they parked there.
Household:
The rooms are pretty well cleaned every day but don't expect perfect housekeeping.
The toilets were sometimes cleaned.
Guest Manager:
Following a surprise organized a few days ago with an employee... we had the worst customer experience ever encountered so far in any hotel.
Birthday surprise not on time in the room (it happens but just tell the guest delicately).
After 1 hour of delay and returning to the reception, my partner still asked for explanations from the Guest Manager who he maintained that it was not the agreed time and that in any case his English was not was not the same as his to understand each other (WTF?)
How can you demean a customer like that?
This lack of respect absolutely disgusted us for the rest of the stay.
Unfortunately for him, another employee told us that there had been a problem with the cake.
Indeed, the cake brought to your room was simply a slice of chocolate fondant from the beach club restaurant menu…
To top it all off, the only way he found to make amends was to bring us a glass of champagne at 10 a.m. for breakfast?
In short, we would still like to thank Juan who was the only employee who lived up to our expectations and who was concerned about our stay.
We still made some great acquaintances within the establishment who will also make the same comments about the hotel.
Hotel to do but a few days, to avoid for 1 or 2 weeks of vacation.

Beautiful hotel with tasteful and modern interior. Few seconds walk to the beach which was lovely and had a nice bar on.
Rooms spacious, clean, lots of storage, comfy bed. Shower is not private however not an issue if you’re a couple. Room with a toilet could be made nicer, seemed like an afterthought, smelt like urine and had drip marks on the wall from an unknown liquid?
Pool area lovely! Two pools, separate one for adults only, hot tubs, saunas, showers, towels etc. Only criticism is that the loungers didn’t seem to be cleaned much, often had sand on from the day before.
Enjoyed the music round the pool, didn’t find this too loud, people complaining need to liven up … it’s holiday time!
Breakfast really tasty! Lots of choice and tasted very fresh.
Dinner at the restaurant and pool snacks also really good, however were extortionate in price. Same goes for the drinks, €15 per cocktail and sometimes waiters would add a service charge but not tell you. Cocktails and smoothies really good though!
Most staff friendly. Check in and out is easy if you read your emails and go through the online process.
Surrounding Palmanova area average, not the prettiest, a bit tacky, however found some lovely restaurants and only 30mins on the bus from Palma.
Overall, would definitely recommend!

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for this review about your recent experience in our hotel. Your words paint a vivid image of the Mediterranean flair that we strive to offer, and we're thrilled that our beach club beats and organic design resonated with you. The proximity to the sea's embrace and the gastronomic joy our Beso Beach brings are indeed among the highlights we pride ourselves on. We're attentive to your remarks regarding our facilities. While our design is unconventional, we aspire for every corner to reflect the homey ambiance we're known for. Rest assured, we take your observations to heart as they help us refine our oasis of serenity and comfort. We're enchanted by your praise of our team's hospitality and the ease of our digital check-in process, which encapsulates our commitment to a seamless stay. It's delightful to hear that our local culture infusion left you with a collection of memories to cherish. We all hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future. Kindest regards, Martina Piovesan, Voice of Customer Coordinator

We looked at the hotel on our last Mallorca vacation in 2022 and thought it was great - but it was still Innside by Meliá. We booked it because we like the chain and it was adults only.
I was therefore surprised when we arrived and the hotel was completely differently decorated, had a different name and children were also allowed.
We had a very nice premium room with a view of the pool, the beach bar and of course the sea. The room is large, great beds, great shower, enough bathroom products (shampoo, conditioner, body cream etc.)
Absolute beach/summer feeling. Even the air conditioning was quiet and easy to use.
There are 2 pools, one by the sea and one at the back by the street (the sun doesn't come out here until 1 p.m.). The loungers in the first row by the sea have to be reserved at 8 a.m., the rest are available later. There are also 2 whirlpools, a sauna, a yoga room, etc.
The breakfast was very good and there was enough choice.
The beach club still needs to be worked out, we didn't eat there, too loud, quite expensive and not enough choice. There are lots of good restaurants nearby.
Small drawback: at the back pool you get stuck on all the handles, they really need to be cleaned!
Conclusion: great beach hotel - we'll be back

Very nice hotel, tastefully decorated. We had a ZEL PREMIER SEA VIEW room. Upon our arrival the room was well cleaned, except for all the pillows they put on the bed and those of the sofa in the room, dusty and with traces of hair. The glass shower next to the bed has no privacy. Air conditioning a little noisy, large and comfortable bed, excellent quality of sheets and all linen used. Offered products of excellent quality that were replaced every day, as well as the two bottles of water. In the period we stayed, for 14 nights, the room was cleaned superficially. The cost of this hotel is not cheap at all. For parking you are asked € 25.00 per day. Breakfast below expectations, non-quality products that are exposed from 8:00 to 11:00 without protection, without refrigerators, in the heat. There is no description of products and allergens, so be very careful if you are allergic. Another out of tune note, there are coffee and cappuccino machines, and if you ask for a cappuccino with vegetable milk, obviously not present in the machines they charge you separately. In such a hotel with these costs it is unthinkable to run such a breakfast. There is no reception but you do everything telematically. The staff of little experience, all interns, some caring and polite, but little experience. And 'allowed to walk around the hotel bareback in costume, children who even ran naked. In the elevator they let you in even wet, there should be strict rules for everyone's respect. Inside the structure there is the Beso Beach, very nice although for the service it offers, very expensive, some rude waiters. For what you spend you eat in a starred restaurant having a completely different service, but you are not in Palmanova overlooking the sea. Smoking is allowed everywhere, in the bar, at breakfast, in the pool area, it's fine if you're a smoker, but terrible if you're not. The biggest problem of this hotel is the pool area, small, in proportion to the structure, plus they make anyone access without a minimum control, everyone takes towels and use the sun loungers by the pool. They enter the hot tubs at all ages as well as the adult pool, where there is no control and there are families playing in the water with the ball.
All beds are reserved at Beso Beach which sells them daily to families, with use of the mini pool. If you go down in the morning at 8.30 in the pool you will find a horrible scenario: dirty sunbeds, cigarettes and cigars everywhere, dishes, glasses, dirty floor, this is because they allow guests who dine at Beso Beach in the evening to access anywhere. There is little consideration and protection for hotel guests despite the hefty amount they spend to stay. Would I go back? under these conditions and with these policies, absolutely not. Too bad!!

I am writing to express serious concerns regarding a guest's recent stay at your hotel.
I am their travel agent and have submitted this on their behalf.
Firstly, the pre-arranged car transfer did not arrive as scheduled. After waiting for 50 minutes and making two calls to your hotel, a driver eventually arrived. This lack of punctuality and communication is unacceptable, and no apology or explanation was provided.
Upon arrival, the check-in process via the app took over an hour, with minimal assistance from staff and a noticeable absence of hospitality. This created a poor first impression.
The main issue encountered was the attitude of the young staff members, who appeared indifferent and unhelpful. Requests such as getting food near the pool, ordering drinks, or even a burger from the pool menu to the restaurant were met with a lack of concern and professionalism. The food was described as bland, with a rocket salad lacking dressing and stale corn chips. Additionally, housekeeping was subpar—personal items like a pillow were misplaced and found dusty under the bed. After housekeeping attended to the room, pillows were not properly arranged and were left on the floor or a desk chair. Attached photos show the state of the room after housekeeping.
The location is not appealing either. Out the front of the hotel are little shops and Indian restaurants, They said all they could smell was Indian spices and nothing much else around it.
It is clear that the level of hospitality significantly impacts guest satisfaction. It appears that there may be a lack of proper staff training and supervision, leading to a disappointing experience. Several other guests were also overheard expressing dissatisfaction with food, service, and housekeeping.
Given the substantial amount spent—over 8000 EUR for two rooms over seven days—the experience was highly unsatisfactory. I have also contacted your hotel directly with a formal complaint.

Where do I start.
From the moment my family and I arrived booking 3 rooms at Zel we were surprised that checking was self serve not smooth sailing especially after a long flight.
The hotel is lovely, clean and right on the beach.
The staff have big attitude the only word that is in they're vocabulary is Halo. Never asked how are you? hows your day etc etc.
The hotel has no security the lifts to your rooms are accessible by anyone even random people from the beach can get the lift up to all levels.
After being out all day I came back and my room door was open. Thinking the cleaning staff member must still be inside, not the case.
The hotel allows anyone to use amenities free of charge, the pool beds are taken up all day guests are not treated with priority.
The coffee well that's another story.
Bitter and full of froth. Don't expect any help from staff if you need a kick-start coffee at the start of your day they have no intention of servicing you.
It's an inconvenience to them.
Be careful with the advertising PRIVATE PARKING this comes at a huge cost from memory 25 euro a day WOW.
My family have a list long so I will leave it at that.
Staff can ruin your experience 150% and this is exactly what these staff members did.

Dear Michellefz, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. It warms our hearts to hear that our hotel's cleanliness and prime beachfront location resonated with you, offering that Mediterranean flair we're so proud of. Our recent renovation in 2023 has indeed enhanced the organic design and homey ambiance we strive for. We're also thrilled that our partnership with Rafa Nadal adds a unique local culture infusion to the guest experience. However, I'm genuinely concerned about your experience with the room's security and our staff's service, which seems unusual given our commitment to guest safety and Mediterranean hospitality. While our lifts are indeed accessible for an ease-of-movement philosophy, be assured that our team is dedicated to ensuring only guests enjoy our unconventional comforts. As for the parking, it's indeed at an extra cost, as we aim to provide convenience right at our doorstep. we apologize if this wasn't clearly communicated, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We take pride in our Beso Beach Mallorca's gastronomic joy, and I regret to hear that your coffee experience didn't hit the spot. I'll be personally looking into this matter, as it's our goal to start your day on the right note with a perfect cup. We hope to welcome you again in the future. Best wishes,🌴 Laura López, Voice of Customer Coordinator

The hotel is located right on a beautiful sandy beach. The rooms are large and - like the whole hotel - modern and tastefully decorated. You should make sure to choose a room with a sea view, because it is really great, otherwise you look out onto a street. The breakfast included in the price leaves nothing to be desired and neither does the service. They really try to fulfill every wish. In other words - we felt completely at home and will definitely come back!

Having stayed at this hotel for the last ten years, sadly we will not be returning. We booked when this hotel was the Innside Cala Blanca- an adults only hotel. Unbeknown to us the hotel closed for a few months for refurbishment and reopened under a new name - as we found out when we arrived, it is no longer an adults only hotel. As I always book direct with Melia, I would have expected some form of communication as this is a significant change and misrepresentation. People book adults only for a reason and had we known beforehand I would have cancelled.
There are limited sun beds for the size of the hotel, no priority is given to hotel residents. People can simply walk in and use them or pay to do so. If you’re looking for a quiet stay, forget it!
Day 1, the pool was full of screaming children, most were not residents.
Day 2, the restaurant had a hen party booking in the afternoon, resulting in people dancing on the tables to very loud music, no attempt was made to stop this. Not what I’d expect of a Melia hotel. This continued through our stay. Personally, I liked the music, but why does it have to be so loud!
Pool bar staff favour orders from the restaurant when busy, so prepare to wait for a drink.
If you haven’t stayed here before you will probably like it. Our biggest complaint is that it is no longer adults only. I have written to Melia direct, but have not even had the courtesy of a response. This hotel is still being advertised as adults only, so be aware.

We had also been to this hotel a few years ago, only it had now been completely renovated. The interior upon entering is beautiful and completely contemporary, with beautiful items that you can buy and a trendy 'in house city' coffee shop.
It is a new concept where there is no reception, you can check in at home. There are always hotel staff at the entrance to assist you. The restaurant and outdoor terrace fall under the trendy 'Beso beach' concept. Again very nice design. The breakfast buffet also takes place here, which is very extensive. You imagine yourself in a tropical atmosphere when the weather is sunny. Our room had a sea view and overlooked the pool terrace, the beautiful sandy beach and light blue sea. A really great view. An advantage is that only a pedestrian promenade separates the hotel from the beach, so no traffic. Apart from Hotel Zel and the beautiful beach, Palmanova is not really our thing. Lots of (noisy) English tourists with 'pub-like' eateries. But you can reach Puerto Portals, a luxurious marina with many restaurants, within 10 minutes by taxi.
And you can reach the airport or the capital Palma within half an hour for some shopping.
We were there in April and had warm and sunny spring weather. What a gift Hotel Zel is! Personal downsides: the swimming pool, terrace and restaurant are not in the sun all day. But…. you can easily move to the beach where you can sunbathe until late. Furthermore, during our stay in the low season you saw that there were too few sun beds at the pool when the weather was nice and that the phenomenon of laying down a towel in the morning had already taken place.

Our time at the Zel Palmanova was simply spectacular. From the start, we felt welcome thanks to the attentive staff, and we want to make special mention of Lucia from GEX, who made our stay even more memorable with her kindness and attention to detail. The room, with its charming Mediterranean style, was a perfect retreat to relax, and the food was delicious, highlighting the fresh and authentic flavors. The location is ideal, close to the beach and all attractions. We hope to be back soon!
