Hotel Agua Beach enjoys a celebrated beachfront location, drawing guests in with its appealing proximity to local attractions such as shops and nightlife. The hotel's range of amenities and modern decor are well-liked, though there's room for improvement in the pool and gym facilities. While the majority of guests praise the hotel's cleanliness and the vibrant atmosphere, some express concerns over room maintenance and service inconsistencies. Opinions on value are divided, with the remarkable location often offsetting concerns about costs and room expectations.

After searching online for a suitable place to stay in Mallorca, we decided on Agua Beach Hotel, mainly because of its location and the fact that it is “adults only”, which promised a more relaxing getaway.

Upon arrival, the reception area looked even better than it appeared online. It is spacious, pleasantly scented and clean 5/5. The female receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. The only drawbacks were (1) at the reception was a city tax charge (EURO 13.00); something that we were unaware of, but immediately paid, and (2) there is a EURO 3.00 per day charge for use of the security deposit box in the room.

We were given Room 209 on the second floor, nice, with 80% sea view, partially blocked by two trees. The room, itself, was clean 4/5, the bathroom was the same 4/5, but the overall space felt smaller than 27 sq metres.

The second problem was the lack of hot water on our first day and half of our second day; however, it was eventually resolved. 3/5

Decent shower, water pressure was satisfactory. Shower curtain and towels were clean 4/5.

Elevator is slow 2.5/5, but being on the second floor is an easy walk down the stairway to the reception and restaurant. The restaurant is good, typical buffet style layout, but decent tables and chairs, friendly staff. The food is typical Mediterranean and British with a hint of American. Food quality and taste 3.5/5.

There’s an outdoor pool, small for the hotel’s size, usually crowdy and not so welcoming 2/5. Above the hotel, there’s a rooftop garden and deck 5/5 for ingenuity. It is very nice and serene. There’s a gym but it is very compact and small 3/5.

There isn’t much to the hotel grounds, just a walkway from the street to the reception area 4/5; it is kept clean.

There’s a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel (Olivia’s Cocktail Lounge), great cocktails 5/5. We did not try the food.

On our third day, there seemed to have been some misunderstanding with our room allocation as we were asked to pack up our things and move to another room because we were given the wrong room to start with.

This created some disruption and discomfort to our stay as we lost time to assess the matter. Eventually, we continued to stay in the room for the rest of our booking. That experience warrants 1/5.

Credit to the housekeeping staff for a great job in refreshing our room. 5/5

Would we stay here again? Yes.
Would we recommend to friends? Yes
Overall experience? 4/5

The hotel was in a great location right on the beach, just across a road with restaurants and shops etc. My room 209 was perfectly positioned on the second floor with a view of both the sea and the pool. (I was travelling solo and requested a sea view room but was pleasantly surprised to be given such a well positioned room.) There was some noise from the road and restaurants below in the early evening but quiet by midnight. It was lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. The room was very clean and bathroom as you’d expect. The bed was very comfortable and I added a duvet as I found it cold with the air con (too hot without it). There were complimentary water bottles on arrival in the fridge and a kettle for tea coffee making. There’s a Spar shop (ACME) right next the hotel for extra water/ snacks etc. Some of the rooms in the hotel were in a separate building above the supermarket with no sea view and guests had to go out past the pool and up in another lift then past the roof terrace. The food at breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Plates of fresh fruit and bowls with pieces of fruit that could be taken away. Fresh pancakes/eggs/waffles and croissants as well as bacon sausages etc. Dinner was also in the same room overlooking the pool but it didn’t seem that many booked half board. The other restaurant through the bar was lovely and open to the public from the road too so was often full. Lovely atmosphere with music and it was outside. Lots of choice of restaurants on the door step and you can walk all the way along the promenade to the next resorts. Also a bus takes you into Magaluf/ Palma if wanted. I walked every morning and went to the other Palma Nova beaches ( there are three) Also found a quiet rocky beach down some steps in the other direction. Lovely for a quiet swim. The pool area was clean and the pool a lovely temperature for swimming. However it was quite compact for the size of the hotel. It’s a shame people are allowed to smoke as it tended to linger due to the high walls. (Perhaps smoking should be restricted to the seating and not the loungers). I always found a lounger in the afternoon and there’s the roof terrace to decamp to once the sun leaves the pool. There are lovely comfy Balinese beds up there but the other loungers were old and some slightly broken. The bar area by the roof terrace was something and nothing and only open in the day but staff were friendly. The bar downstairs had much more atmosphere. I really liked staying here for just under a week and would have loved to stay longer. I would return and definitely pay the extra to book a sea view room again.

Agua Beach is an ideal hotel if you’re looking for a base to explore Palmanova, Palma, Magaluf and beyond. The hotel is situated directly across the road from the beach, and there is a bus stop a few minutes away which takes you up and down the coast.

While the hotel is described as four stars, upon visiting it definitely should be considered a three star establishment. All the hotel staff were polite and friendly, particularly Ana from the restaurant who was always very warm and welcoming.

In general, the hotel decor is tired and in the rooms there were small snags that if amended could really improve the feel. While there are numerous facilities listed on the website, we couldn’t find some (e.g. sauna) and others were not enticing at all (e.g. jacuzzis which didn’t look clean and gym with no air conditioning).

The biggest letdown for us was the pool. There must be at least a few hundred rooms in the hotel, yet there were less than 20 sun loungers by the pool which in itself was very small. Despite a sign which stated guests were not allowed to reserve beds with towels, some guests ignored this or sat on the loungers from 8am onwards. There was a sun deck a few levels up from this which was quieter, but this would benefit from a plunge pool or shower to help you cool off when too hot. Although the beach is on your doorstep, hiring a lounger costs €20 a day, this seems a steep added cost when you should be able to sit by the pool in the hotel you’ve paid for.

The breakfast was adequate, definitely a varied selection but not the highest quality ingredients. Highlight was definitely the churros.

2 Receptionists only speak Spanish, 2 others can speak English. Broken front door, very hard to open and close and only after 5 days did they repair it, leaving sawdust and pieces of wood scattered around the room. Absence of bidet. Bathtub with curtain without support fixed in the wall, every time the curtain was moved, it fell. Shower that released very little water, it seemed like it was raining, the water went in all directions except on the person. Towels full of brown, yellow and hole stains, we pointed this out to the receptionist who sent the cleaning lady to our room with new towels but they were also stained. Double bedroom with separate beds. Paid safe, €18 for 7 nights, plus €10 deposit returned at the end of the stay. Tourist tax for 7 nights, €46. Very poor room cleaning, as soon as we arrived there was hair all over the bathroom and in the tub. Broken window handle. Wardrobes do not close perfectly, the doors remain crooked. Reception with temperatures much lower than outside and with an unpleasant room scent. Poor food, little sweet choice at breakfast and flavorless dishes at dinner. Machines that dispense water take it from an open bottle placed behind the machines, which is really unhygienic. Sticky tablecloths, cleaned with substances with an unpleasant odor, cutlery was placed directly on the tablecloth. We often found dirty cutlery, glasses and plates. In the food section, especially during breakfast, it doesn't say what you're getting, the same in the evening in the section dedicated to desserts and promptly not even the waiters could tell us what they were. Friendly waitresses, always saying hello, unlike the receptionists.
Every morning around 6.30/7.00 the poolside is cleaned with a high pressure washer to mainly remove leaves, perhaps it would be more convenient to use a broom and avoid wasting liters and liters of water. Balcony with small drying rack, table and two chairs, sea and pool view.
The location is ideal, very close to the centre, in the evening the street is filled with stalls and runs along the seafront. Just 2.5 km away is Magaluf, suitable for young people and with a wonderful sea, reachable on foot or by bus (€6 from Palmanova to Magaluf if you buy tickets on board, by buying them online you save almost half). Very easy to get around by public transport, a bus passes every 15 minutes. Supermarket next to the hotel.
Absolutely not an Italian 4 star hotel; 2 stars would be correct.

On the plus side this adult only hotel is really close to the beach, has comfortable beds and the staff are friendly (except for Regina In reception).

The hotel offers half board of room and breakfast with the latter option the best bet with so many nearby eateries. The daily cleaning of the rooms is very good and the only item missing from tea and coffee facilities being milk ( thankfully there is a small supermarket next door.

If you want a quiet room avoid the annex and being on a busy road it is not worth paying extra for sea views.

The area that deducts from. 4 star rating is the food, saved by the fresh fruit and cold items. The hot food at breakfast appears to be put onto the heated counter about an hour before opening and is a sad tepid greasy sight but you can get by on the fresh fruit, bread, pastries etc. Dinners is best avoided.

The hotel is billed as being four-star, but presumably receives this rating by providing facilities such as lifts, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a gym and 24-hour reception rather than the quality of the service.

The main reception area is clean and bright, but the hotel building looks tired and in need of refurbishment. We had a room in the hotel’s annexe, located at the front of the building over a supermarket. The room itself was clean but the bathroom was a little cramped; access to the shower was narrow and might prove difficult for someone with mobility issues.

Access to the annexe is either a convoluted journey involving two lifts and a walk across the roof terrace or via a separate entrance approximately 100m up the road from the main hotel (an entrance, incidentally, that is unattended and never locked, raising questions about room security).

The hotel’s pool is small, approximately 10m x 5m, and has ladders at either end for entry/exit. We observed several guests struggle with these ladders and again would question the suitability for less mobile customers.

The pool area is surrounded on three sides by high walls and is therefore shaded to the extent that only half the deck is in the sun (this does of course vary as the sun moves round).

The Sendero bar and restaurant, while located in the hotel building and stated as being “by Agua Beach”, is in fact a franchised operation which is separately run and has nothing to do with the hotel.

There is a bar offering a basic range of soft and alcoholic drinks as well as sandwiches, wraps and salads, but it is located on the roof terrace and, from our experience at least, there is no service around the pool itself unless you chase it up. The problem appears to be lack of staff, which meant only one person was covering the bar and the cooking if anyone ordered food.

As regards catering, the breakfast menu was reasonably broad, offering a range of cereals, hot food, cold meats, cheeses, fruit and bakery goods, all of an adequate standard but not really what might be expected in a four-star hotel.

To end on a more positive note, the hotel location is very good, the beach is just across the road and there is a plentiful selection of restaurants and a supermarket within a short walk.

This Hotel does not deserve the 4 star we stayed for 3 nights , the room we had faced a barage of massive trees outside so no view of anything ,balcony wasn't clean ,the phone in the room was absolutely discusting even the cleaner couldn't clean it it was that filthy , the bath towels were small , had to pay 3 euros a day for the safe and 10 deposit, in a 4 star this should be free .
Only upside Breakfast wasn't bad had a good selection of food .
Wouldn't stay here again needs some better management I think .

Welcoming hotel with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Palma Nova. We stayed three people in a four-bed room which was very spacious, quiet and cool. However, the rooms were a bit worn in places but nothing that disturbed our stay. A plus for large balcony and large fridge in the room. The hotel was right on the beach and promenade, just a few meters from the bus stop to Palma, and beach towels were available to borrow at the reception for a deposit. Sunbeds were available for rent on the beach for 4 euros/day. The breakfast was superb and the staff pleasant and helpful.

We would love to return here!

NOTE: Don't miss the Neapolitan pizza at Contro Corrente, only about 100 m from the hotel entrance. Amazingly good food!!

The hotel is in a great location with the beach across the road. Restaurants and bars near by and decent supermarket next door.
The waiting staff; Anna, Poppy and Lolly were absolutely superb. So friendly and helpful with nothing that they couldn’t help you with and really made us feel so welcome. They are amazing people. Quick mention to the young chap who was in charge of the nice little bar.
We stayed half board an the food was really good with plenty of choices depending on your taste. Really good value if you choose to pay for an evening meal as hoc, as it is buffet style and well worth the 20 euro.
Nice facilities, pool, gym, hot tubs, roof top bar. Room was nice good bed, tea coffee making and decent shower.
Room was cleaned every day to an extremely high standard and fresh towels changed.
We had no complaints at all and Palma Nova is clean and a 5 euro taxi ride to the sins of Magaluf if you dare!
Great hotel and would return in a heartbeat if we were to holiday in the resort. 10/10.

We have stayed in many hotels over the past 20 years around palma nova and magaluf and this was the dirtiest hotel we have stayed in,Our room 104 was dirty old pee stains under the plastic toilet ring ,mould at the bottom of the shower glass which everytime the shower hit it all the bits came off, Rusty shower plug,The pillows had old sweat marks on them,The maid never cleaned our balcony once in all of our stay and some days she never even turned up.
the downstairs pool area was alot cleaner than the roof terrace were it was never cleaned floor was dirty with rubbish, false nails on the floor etc,Dirty tables never cleaned, sun loungers were ripped, The mouldy looking jacuzzi was,nt working properly just one of the 4 jets hardly working,The reception looked clean but look up as you 1st walk in look above the doors its full of old cob webs and dead insects,There was a broken big piece plastic on the 1st floor stairs for all our stay which told me they generally dont do much cleaning,We just thought this is basic stuff and they could,nt even do that so what goes on in the kitchen as far as hygiene goes?
The reception staff were very nice and the hotel is in a great location so they probably dont have to try to hard to get holydaymakers
we would no go back or recommend this hotel

Mmmmm. Good question. They do have a roof top bar which is a small wooden shed which is open during the afternoon. However we only used it once. The whole area is in my opinion very much neglected and certainly not what we’ve experienced in other four star hotels in the resort.
