(-) The downside is soundproofing.
We know, and are used to it, that this is a private problem, but if you come across loud neighbors who don’t sleep until 2 am, it’s very unpleasant. Audibility 500%. The feeling that they are talking in your room, all the dialogues can be heard, like a kettle boiling and a person sneezing.
The cleaning service is also very noisy, you can hear furniture moving two floors up.

The apartment was first class, so glad we booked direct with the hotel and paid extra for Deluxe; kitchen, large bathroom and living room with separate bedroom, and the biggest balcony with stunning panoramic sea views. We’ve had many holidays over the years in 5 star hotels but none of those have matched the views you get at the Ponent Mar!
All the staff are very helpful and friendly; maids, front desk, spa, bars and restaurants. A special thank you to the buffet breakfast manager with his exceptional manners - with great quality and choices of breakfast food being available.
Good sized outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers, and the roof top pool on the 9th floor with large sun terrace and fabulous sea views is a great place to relax! The on site mini supermarket has plenty of grocery items and is fairly priced compared to other shops in Palma Nova. We used the gym and indoor spa daily; pools including cold plunge, sauna and steam room - all good!
A 5 minute walk from the hotel and there are numerous good restaurants and bars to choose from, along with stunning beaches. We only had breakfast at the Ponent Mar but at night the dinner buffet restaurant always looked busy which is a good sign.
So all in all we had a fabulous and relaxing holiday, we highly recommend the Ponent Mar, and we’ll book a deluxe apartment regularly with the hotel who even organised a late checkout for us as
weren’t flying back till 22:30 on our departure day.
The location is amazing, with stunning views of the bay and 3-4 sandy beaches all within walking distance. The facilities were top-notch, especially the pools and the indoor pool and spa area.
What really won me over, though, was the food. The breakfast spread was fantastic, offering a huge variety of options. The evening buffets were equally impressive. The kitchen staff clearly put love and care into the food, and we found ourselves eating at the hotel far more than we had planned because it was just too good to resist. Even the pricier restaurant overlooking the bay offered delicious options for both lunch and dinner. We also enjoyed ordering room service from this restaurant and having meals on our balcony while watching the sailboats.
I would recommend getting a sea view room—it is well worth it. The room itself was very comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a very memorable week's stay.
On top of that, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the midday check-out really helped make our departure stress-free.
Just be aware that there are a lot of couples with young children and babies. We usually go for adult-only resorts, so this was noticeable, but still manageable. Fortunately, there are times when children aren’t allowed in the indoor pool area, which was a nice break. There is also a small adult-only pool on the rooftop.
Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would love to return.

Normally or extremely rarely we write recessions, but in this case we have to, as we cannot understand the positive assessments.
What is top is the view and the staff was always endeavoured and friendly. Well, that was it.
But now for the stay:
Room No. 417 Superior Studio we exchanged after a few hours as it was extremely musty and smelled of mold that did not go away. Receive room no. 312 for this. Here the smell was ok but the air conditioning could hardly be regulated. It blew extremely directly onto the bed at the slowest stage. Solution for night air conditioning off and sweat overnight.
In room 617 Premium Apartment, on the other hand, the air conditioning worked only 20% and it did not get cool even after 6 hours despite the highest level and 10 degrees. We complained about 11 pm and got an even higher category as a replacement for the night, room 214. This was then more in the lower area where the room then again smelled of basement and modern.
So I'd rather sleep in warm room 617.
At breakfast our daughter unfortunately ate spoiled smelly scrambled eggs. Unfortunately, we only noticed this halfway through, as we were still getting breakfast ourselves. Even the kitchen people said this would be disgusting. The fan at the cooking station was just dripping with grease. Everything seems kind of unhygienic.
The food selection at dinner and the restaurant itself have a canteen character. For a 200€ hotel that would probably be ok but not at the prices that are called.
Hygiene throughout the hotel leaves much to be desired. The rooms are partly worn out, dirty and everywhere in the corridors the musty smell is tried to paper over with scented sticks.
Charging 800€ for a night for both rooms is outrageous when you rate what is on offer. There was no financial accommodation for the great night. The final account was also incorrect. We have now paid the tax for 3 nights even though we were only there 1 night. Unfortunately, I only noticed it in the aftermath.
After all, we were allowed to cancel the two nights free of charge.
Overall, we can only advise booking this hotel at usury prices. Pictures we would have many, but only upload the fan as taste.
The food in Amura is better than most of the restaurants in Palma Nova which we dined in every day. We had a variety of different dishes and every single one was delicious.
Special thanks to the reception and bar staff who always make our stay very enjoyable.
Highly recommend the Ponent Mar it is THE BEST in Calvia.
Hope to see you all again soon :)

We had booked an apartment which was very spacious for 2 adults and 2 children and it had a large balcony and partial Seaview. We enjoyed our lunches on the balcony and being able to dry clothes and beach towels etc.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful, delicious, well organised and not at all chaotic. Our daughter is wheat intolerant and they had a gluten free table and toaster for her to use to prevent cross-tamination which is really important for any coeliac guests.
They have an adults only rooftop area with pool and bar and between midday and 4pm children are allowed to accompany their parents and visit the spa with pools on floor 3.
There was evening entertainment every night in the main bar and 2 nights a week children were allowed up to the rooftop adults only area to listen to the DJ and enjoy the view and chilled out vibes.
We made use of the onsite shop and launderette. It was €3 for a 30min wash that included detergent.
There was a lovely friendly atmosphere with guests ranging from all ages, couples, families, extended families and friends from a variety of different countries.
There were clearly a lot of repeat guests. The pool was a perfect temperature and had a baby section and 2 soft entries perfect for little ones.
There is a bar near the pool with delicious frozen drinks, ice creams and other drinks an snacks. The strawberry slush was a daily enjoyment. We were so pleased to see recycling opportunities all around the hotel.
We enjoyed a lovely meal in the buffet one night which that night had a Mediterranean theme. The theme alternates each night through 7 different themes.
The Balinese terrace was also a nice retreat with sun daybeds and a shower.
Kids club ran 3 afternoons a week with tshirt and facepainting opportunities as well as some arcade games.
We made it down to the sea at the edge of the property as well as to the public large beaches which were a short walk away.
We are so content at the hotel due to how well it is managed and look forward to our next visit. I cannot think of a friendlier place where we felt so relaxed and comfortable with our 2 young children.

Been going to Ponent Mar for nearly 30 years and are never disappointed . Studios are always clean and well kept and staff are always so helpful and friendly .
We have specific rooms that we like staying in and Jordi always manages to accommodate our requests .
The roof top pool is fab and the views are amazing . We always pay for breakfast as the choice is great and worth the money
They offer free wifi and free towels for the pool , bottle of wine and water if you book direct as we always do . There’s even a bottle of washing up liquid and the soap and shower gel smells gorgeous .
We Can never ever fault our stays here and will look forward to visiting again very soon
We immediately saw lots of hard-working staff, and that a number of little issues were resolved. Frankly, I don’t recall seeing such improvements. It will sound funny, but Wi-Fi is very important for me and here it was almost flawless. Easy to connect once at the beginning (NOT having to reconnect 1 billion times per day) and at a decent throughput.
Our room (superior with sea view) was very spacious, nicely appointed, and with a very large balcony. The beds were of the right firmness. Service in the room was flawless, absolutely no complaints.
At the restaurant the staff were always finding a way to help us, and it was easy to book a table to sit outside for the buffet. The food was varied and tasty. We will sorely miss the breakfast we got so used to!
The pool and the adjacent areas were always kept spotless, and the water in the pool was pleasantly warm in the afternoon.
We did not attend any of the evening events that were organized, but they looked thoughtfully chosen and excellent.
And finally the reception staff were exceptional in every way!
So thank you for for a superb vacation, our best in years. And obviously we will be back!
