After a long time, we were back in Ticino for a few days and chose a different side of Lake Lugano / Ceresio. So we ended up at the Tresa Bay - Hotel in Ponte Tresa. The booked parking space in front of the house was already marked on arrival (great). The reception was friendly and problem-free. The room on the third floor was not huge, but big enough, was clean, smelled good. The bathroom was well lit, clean, enough towels, enough storage space, absolutely nothing to complain about. The balcony (with table and two chairs) was also inaugurated straight away, the view of the lake is of course great. Only the noise from the busy cantonal road may be annoying. The hotel is therefore only around 200 meters from the Italian customs. But that makes it possible to walk over to the Italian side. The FLP train station (and the bus station) is diagonally opposite. Thanks to the Ticino Card, you can also travel to Lugano for free by boat, bus or FLP, the S60. The hotel bar opens at 4 p.m., time for an aperitif. We also enjoyed using the restaurant, table by the window overlooking the lake, very friendly waiter, excellent food, wine too. Breakfast was very plentiful, fresh and of good quality (Switzerland after all), good service, friendly, efficient. We didn't know the hotel before our visit and were a bit skeptical at first (3 stars), but were pleasantly surprised by the 4-star quality of the hotel. We'll go there again! :)

Very nice location, from the balcony you can see over the lake. In 5min you are on foot in Italy, just opposite is the train station and the bus station. Friendly, attentive staff. Clean rooms, fine, manageable breakfast buffet. Dogs are also welcome. We will definitely come back.

We arrived by train and the route from the station to the hotel was just across the street. Very friendly welcome and comfortable rooms. It was also wonderful to be able to use the hotel's own jetty into the lake. And the restaurant is great, as is the breakfast buffet and very friendly service! We're already looking forward to the next time.

Very nice simple, clean hotel with very nice staff. Location right on the lake and traffic you hear nothing at all. Nice room with large balcony and wonderful lake view. Dining room and bar generously furnished with plenty of light and also lake view. Also our dog was very welcome and we can highly recommend the place.

Very nice hotel located right on the lake. Run with great love by the family. Rooms with a dream view guaranteed. Breakfast buffet great and the staff is very friendly :) Our dogs were also welcome, which made us very happy. Train station just across the street and a great starting point for hikes in the region.

We felt very welcome! Nice, attentive staff! Very clean room and a good-sized balcony with a wonderful view! Bicycles in a separate, closed room. The breakfast is varied, something for every taste. The room, like everyone else, had a balcony overlooking Lake Lugano. The beds were comfortable. Two armchairs, a small table, a fridge and a cupboard with a safe completed the decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wé came around the 12 of June and were welcome with an upgrade of our room. The viewpoint from the room was incredible with a large balcon. Dîner at the restaurant by the make is à real pleasure moment. The small access to the lake is Well florished and lovely. Thanks to the staff who is very friendly.

Dear Marie-Line, thank you for your full star review! We are glad you appreciated the offered upgrade (if possible at check in we like to pamper our guests with upgrades) and the wonderful view. As a matter of fact ALL our rooms have balcony and direct view on the lake! We are the only hotel with 100% lake view guarantee on lake Lugano and offer 3 room categories for every budget. Also, as you pointed out, in these hot summer days it is nice to jump into the lake form our small terrace, or take a water massage in our indoor relaxing pool. Everything about the hotel is top-class: location, comfort, staff, service. But what terrible disappointment about the restaurant. We ordered the three-course “Menu surprise”. And what a surprise it was; dried meat, spare-ribs, ice cream. Oh, I forgot the “Mise-en-bouche”; three slices of salami. We couldn’t believe our eyes. Even the service personnel were amazed – or was it embarrassment. I hope this review prompts the owners of the hotel to stop offering the “Menu surprise” in the restaurant – and that the Chef moves on to demonstrates his talents in some survival training camp in the deep jungle.

Ich feierte gestern meinen 85. Geburtstag. Spontan hat sich in mir der Wunsch geäussert, die Feiertage wieder einmal im schönen Tessin zu verbringen, wo ich geboren bin und früher bei meiner Tante und Gotte im Albergo del Pesce viele Wochen verbrachte. Leider bin ich alleine, stelle keine grossen Ansprüche, würde gerne zwischen 20.12.23 und 8.1.24 ca. 2-3 Wochen verbringen. Graziella Sormani im Haus nebenan ist meine Nichte 2. Grades.
