I went in June of 2012 (I know, a bit late reviewing). The view was spectacular, and the owners were extremely friendly. One morning at breakfast we had some delicious cheese sticks, which apparently were made from the milk of the cows they owned, he kept saying "those my cows!" and pointing to the cheese". Loved this place.

In October 2014 I made a reservation at the Hotel Frohsinn for a five night stay (5-10 July 2015). I received an email confirming my booking. This week, ten days prior to my trip I received another email from the Hotel Frohsinn staying that as they now had two group bookings the same week as my stay they had cancelled...

I have stayed at this hotel many times as its ideal for the Railway & public transport. The previous owner and staff were always friendly polite and helpful, the food lovely and the atmosphere typical Swiss warm and friendly, the Hotel has now been taken over by Chinese. Although the decor and rooms remain the same the staff were clueless!...

Arrived at the end of a long day's drive to a warm and friendly welcome and an excellent supper. Couldn't have asked for more. The room was basic but clean and functional, and in any case this is a budget hotel. Downsides? Not really. Decor is a little dated but well maintained and it has character that you don't find...

I've stayed here many times. It's a good budget hotel. The food in the evening is good. Breakfast is a bit sparse although the coffee is very good. Being Swiss it's spotless and the owners are always helpful. It's very well known amongst railway enthusiasts due to it's location on one of the great freight routes in Europe. Many come...

I've now stayed here a couple of times and intend to go back for more. The staff are great, some speak English, some don't but with a bit of basic German then nothing is a problem. The staff are always friendly and smiling. The food is superb, with a choice of menu of the day (fixed starter and main) or...

Its a nice comfortable hotel, right opposite the railway station. The rooms are cosy and warm. The view offered from our room was majestic. Its far away from almost everything, we stayed there as part of a group whose initial booking was messed up by the travel company. The owners were very helpful and warm. Nothing much to do except...

The rooms were tidy, but small. Bathroom was clean, but bed linens had blood stains. Food was superb. The hotel is very isolated and not near anything but the train depot across the street. Not a tourist location, but a fair value if you need a place to sleep and are hungry.

I stayed here as part of a tour. This was our Hotel for our two days in Lucern and we stayed two nights. The hotel it's self is great. Simple and quite comfortable, the rooms a modest size but quite standard for Switzerland. The down comforters ar so coozy and the alpen pine furniture is great. The food is very...

“If you dont likr trains or are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the hotel away from the street and none stop trains.”

“Rooms at the back are very quiet, I prefer this to the sound of the nearby trains at the front, others may disagree!”

“Due to this hotel's isolated location, it was very quiet. Do ask to be separated from school tour groups. We were near some very loud partying young people.”

“If you get a room on the from of the building the views are amazing. There is a train depot accross the street which could potentially cause noise although I never heard any.”
