Detailed Reviews
My husband and I stayed here while touring Newfoundland. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our room (on the main floor) was lovely. The bed was comfy, the view was great, good A/C, very clean, robes were a lovely touch. The communal space (living room, eating area, kitchen were all very clean and equipped with all your needs for cooking and the view from the kitchen is spectacular. The "help yourself" breakfast area was great and lots to choose from. The homemade jam was to die for btw! My husband and I ended up going to the local fish market down the street and buying fresh lobster to cook at the BNB.... a must do! There is also a convenience store across the street with booze/food. There is also a sign up sheet for the hot tub so you can book your hour to enjoy yourselves. There is also a communal fire pit down by the kayak rental which was lovely at night. Highly recommend this place !! Great location within walking distance of restaurants and the famous Captains Pub to get screeched in. you won't be disappointed!! We wish we would've stayed longer :)

We stayed at the sunshine inn which was like a half hostel/half hotel. You have your own private bedroom with en suite washroom/shower, and downstairs on the main level is a common area including fully equipped kitchen and dining area, as well as living room with TV. There are decks in the front and back of the inn & complimentary morning coffee and breakfast . They also provide laundry services which is a plus and a hottub on the back deck that overlooks twillingate . Would def recommend !

Twillingate is a beautiful spot in NL, and the Sunshine Inn only enhanced its' charm. This hotel was modern, clean, centrally-located, and perfect for our stay in this little town. The kitchen downstairs was fully-stocked and the hot tub was greatly appreciated after a full day of driving. As a Travel Agent, I would happily recommend this place for all of my clients. I can't wait to go back!

Wonderful self-serve experience. Bright clean bedrooms with comfortable beds and modern amenities. Charmingly decorated common room with couches and board and variety of board games. A well equipped kitchen stocked with a variety of coffees and teas, eggs, bread, fruit, cereals to make your own breakfast at your leisure. The hot tub was a very nice addition after a couple of days hiking.

Great set-up. Semi private accommodation with a common breakfast room. Visitors are left to their own devices to do as they wish without interference. The location is right in town within walking distance to all the sights. The hot tub is a great attraction after hiking all day. We were lucky as there were several Icebergs in the bay during our visit and the sun shone every day. Will definitely return.

We enjoyed a relaxing 3- night stay in Captains Quarter room. These are the smallest rooms we have booked in our very long Canada holiday. However there is still plenty of room to manage. Loved the soaking tub after hikes. There is also a hot tub that is obviously well cared for ( the pool guy is there daily)…Liked having the kitchen to cook and breakfast bites.
This area offers some fantastic hiking views. Make sure to stay at LEAST 3 nights! Well worth it! Easy walk to restaurants from here.
There’s a great fire pit, wonderful view from the shared kitchen.
Downside is a small amount of road noise - unless you keep the windows closed. The kitchen can be busy ( if all the rooms are booked) unless you time it right. Walls are a bit thin.
Overall very nice place to stay!!

Clean, comfortable and modern rooms and common spaces. But very automized and impersonal. You will not be met and greeted and breakfast is very minimal and self serviced. Choices of Kerig coffee or tea, cheerios, or sugary yogurt and fruit, or store bought packaged bagel or bread. Uninspiring. If you don't mind the quasi motel like feeling, it's a comfortable choice. It does feel like a high end hostel, with private bathrooms and plenty of common space amenities.

We loved our stay in Twillingate and can't wait to return to the Sunshine Inn. We stayed in the Stern room on July 19 & 20. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room and bathroom were simple but lovely decorated and very clean.
The view from our room overlooked the water - magnificent! Breakfast is included with the room. The food choices were not abundant but were enough. The view from the kitchen made up for the lack of selection. People with allergies or food issues may want to bring some breakfast items as this is a small place with not a lot of specialty items in the stores.
Joelle is a wonderful hostess who should be considered as one of Canada's top young entrepreneurs. Joelle is a great business woman and a talented artist.
We can't wait to return!
