we recently did a last minute girls weekend and accommodations were scarce. We booked our second night in Twillingate at Whitsha B & B. check in was at 3. A group of 4 women so we had two separate rooms. the first room was spacious and very nice. the second room we had was very small, with two single beds, it's ok for kids but definately not worth the money we paid. It should have been a $99 per night room at best, but it cost over $160 with taxes. The shower door in our room didn't close properly, thankfully 2 of us were able to shower in our friends room the next morning. Quiet hours started at 9 pm and checkout was at 10 am. Breakfast options were muffins, toast, bagels, ceral, yogurt and tea, coffe and juice, not a cooked breakfast. The lady working there was very friendly and familiar with the area and told us of some things we could see and do. The house itself was clean and well kept. In our opinion it was overpriced for what we got, but it served it's purpose in a pinch.

Booked the 2 bedroom suite for a friends trip to the Twillingate NWI Dinner Theatre. Received an email early in the afternoon advising us the unit was ready for check in and giving clear instructions on location and door codes for entry. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised that the owner had included all we needed for a continental breakfast despite the unit being advertised as self catering.
The apartment was spotless and the furnishings were in “like new” condition. Couch was especially comfy! Wifi was good, there were plenty of towels, and both Kcup and drip coffee machines were well stocked.
The only minor issue was the high top dining table and bar stools. These are not especially comfortable for longer sittings and we love to play games. Again, minor issue!
Overall a great option for 2 couples. Will be back!

The room is clean and the bathroom is outside of bedroom ( a bit inconvenient ) across the hallway. The breakfast is just cereal, bread without an egg. The owner baked some frozen waffles with frozen fruit the first morning. The next morning there was nothing cooked. So I was bit disappointed at the Breakfast. Compared to the B&B at Fogo Island we had two eggs (in the choice of the way guests prefer) with homemade bread, four different homemade jams…..
Another note I will remind people who are at higher risk of Covid: please ask the owner to separate your breakfast sitting from the 8 seat table. It’s too crowded and I noticed a senior from Florida was coughing several times during a cup of coffee which I felt uncomfortable. My husband was tested positive after one week. The most possible (closest contact with a group indoors was there). There are other two smaller tables and I don’t know why they put 8 guests together…

Thanks Sylvia for your comments. Since Covid , operations at the BnB have changed and continue to change. We provide a continental breakfast so that guest can eat at their desired time. There is a single table so guest can eat separately from a group. I’m sorry if your husband tested positive for Covid. I know that in July many people were diagnosed with Covid. We did have a few guest that did not stay with us due to Covid. I was not working during your stay. So I am not sure what the situation was when you were there. I hope your experience was a good one. Thanks Deborah

We stayed at the Whitsha B&B for two nights and could not have been happier.

The room however tiny Cojack Room was very efficient, perfectly cleaned and well presented, the decor was calming and cute.

We utilized all areas of the home, the backyard seating, the spaceous back deck, kitchen and livingroom. We were encouraged to make the house feel like our home by the host.

Everything was impeccably clean the staff fantastic.

Breakfast was a nice hot breakfast of ham and scrambled eggs, yogurt, bagels, homemade bread, homemade jams, cereals both cold and hot you name it it was provided.

I was very impressed with the staff and the property amenities and highly recommend this property.

We spent 2 nights here and our room was disappointing, I’d say it was a single at best. There were 2 very creaky single beds pushed against the walls with a huge chest of drawers between them that took up so much space. There was very little room for our luggage so it seemed very cramped and uncomfortable. The owner was quite rude when we tried to check what we could use in the kitchen. Breakfast was served at a communal table so we got to meet our fellow guests and compare notes on places we’d visited. Faith was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed at breakfast.

This hotel was advertised as a luxury bed & breakfast. It was far from it. The general living areas were clean but our bedroom was far from clean. The wall above the bed was covered in dust bunnies, the bathroom needed a lick of paint and the shower stall needed some TLC as well. We have been traveling around Newfoundland for the past two weeks and it’s definitely the one I would not go back to. One morning for breakfast the sweet lady made some sort of egg breakfast, she said it’s a bit Burnt but still eatable, I didn’t know what to say to that but laugh. We have stayed all over the island and have had wonderful accommodations except for this one I’m sorry to stay. Never met the owner and we were there for two days.

I am sorry I never got the chance to meet you personally. But because we have several properties that require my attention it is impossible to meet everyone. But. Our other guest did tell us about you going around taking pictures and trying to influence your complaints to them. We do not need an. Inspector . Canada Select does a great job inspecting our property. All our rooms are cleaned after guest check out. When you set out looking for problems I’m sure you can turn a minor issue into a major thing. Since Covid we are providing a continental breakfast which most guest are quite satisfied with. Christine was trying to provide another option for you. I was told by other guest of what you were up to. There are always a few guest that is out looking for something to complain about . If you take a look at our reviews you will see that they most all our reviews are quite favourable. Sorry we did not meet your expectations.

Our room was very small but the bathroom was a good size. Everything was clean and it was nice to have a mini fridge and coffee maker included.
By far the best feature though was our lovely hostess Faith who made and served us breakfast and was so sweet and helpful.

Stayed there on our trip around Newfoundland, very friendly owners. Our room had a private bathroom across the hall with a separate key. Very nice breakfast, they offer gluten sensitive option and try to be aware of all diet needs. Cute little spot

We spent one night only but found it clean and comfortable. Laundry facilities for small charge were very helpful. We had the choice of cold or hot breakfast and the woman who checked us in gave us a terrific recommendation for dinner. We didn’t use the sitting area. The deck was patrolled by mosquitos so we didn’t sit there!!

Advertised a warm, to order breakfast, in fact, a serve yourself continental breakfast.
Hostess was there to check you in. Then never saw her again in 2 days.
Although I paid for a large room, there was no such room on the premises. You could barely turn around in the rooms.
View from back deck was nothing like advertised, certainly not a harbour view.
Bedspread in our room was fresh from the 1960's.
Towels were rough and old.
The only redeeming factor here was the young student hired for the season to oversee the kitchen at 8am, as she was efficient and pleasant.
Our friends stayed at the Iceberg Alley Inn and had a totally different experience.
See pictures below. Ist picture is soap and shampoo in shower. 2nd picture is dry, cereal for breakfast and 3rd picture is view from sitting on back deck.
Would highly recommend not staying here.

As explained on booking .com . I replied to your comments. We have never served a made to order breakfast .Before Covid we did do a hot breakfast but it was always the cooks choice.since Covid we supply a continental breakfast where guest help themselves to individually wrapped breakfast items. And have reduced our rates because of that. We do have a view from our back deck ,which guest love but I guess you didn’t see the natural beauty of the coastline. Your friends staying at Iceberg Alley paid much more than we charge at our Inn It’s like comparing the Ritz Carleton to the Ramada..That property was built a few years back specifically for a BnB whereas ours is a family home and we had to work with what we had so some of our rooms are smaller than we would like. Our bedspreads were new purchased this year not 1960. And all our linens and towels are changed regularly. I am sorry you were not satisfied with your stay. We do have more expensive places in town that will cost $300 to $1000 per night not $100 to $150 per night. So maybe next time you would be more satisfied with a more expensive place to stay. Thanks Deborah
