We recently stayed here September 3-5th. Check in was great, housekeeper was so wonderful and helpful. House is nicely decorated and rooms were a little small but perfect for a two night stay. Location is good, short drive to restaurants and local attractions. Our only concerns were that for the price we payed we expected a cooked breakfast each morning, as per booking. When we arrived we told due to Covid, that owner would not be coming to cook for us. Instead we along with eight other guests shared the kitchen, which means we shared the coffee maker, food, butter, jams, etc. Also no one was there to disinfect the common areas. No one wore masks, other than two American guests. We also found the house clean but very dusty! I would recommend this home again, but the safety and cleaning protocols should really be addressed during this pandemic.

we recently did a last minute girls weekend and accommodations were scarce. We booked our second night in Twillingate at Whitsha B & B. check in was at 3. A group of 4 women so we had two separate rooms. the first room was spacious and very nice. the second room we had was very small, with two single beds, it's ok for kids but definately not worth the money we paid. It should have been a $99 per night room at best, but it cost over $160 with taxes. The shower door in our room didn't close properly, thankfully 2 of us were able to shower in our friends room the next morning. Quiet hours started at 9 pm and checkout was at 10 am. Breakfast options were muffins, toast, bagels, ceral, yogurt and tea, coffe and juice, not a cooked breakfast. The lady working there was very friendly and familiar with the area and told us of some things we could see and do. The house itself was clean and well kept. In our opinion it was overpriced for what we got, but it served it's purpose in a pinch.

We wanted to extend our stay in Twillingate so we arrived 2 days before our res with another B&B and were very thankful to find a place stay on a busy weekend but would never recommend this place to others. No one on site to greet you... and when they do arrive you are asked to pay up front even before seeing your room. After payment was collected and room was shown that was all we ever saw of the Inn keeper...no local area maps , no suggestions for things to do and see, and no suggestions for places to eat... I guess the tattered binder in our room was supposed to suffice for hospitality. Most of the room doors were tight/swelled so it sounded like we were living in a noisy college dorm for the duration of our two night stay. Sadly, the bed was hard and the pillows were old and lumpy. One last thing for the innkeeper if they even bother to read reviews...sweep your floors before guests arrive.

Thanks for the review. I read all my reviews and respond to everyone. If I remember correctly you arrived before check in and there was someone there to greet you. You were referred from another B&B. We were more than happy to accommodate you. Our Inn is cleaned and sanitized daily.as per govt standards We take pride in the cleanliness of our Inn. If you read our reviews we mostly receive a 9-10. We always do payment at check in as people are free to leave as early as they want. As for the beds there are very high quality mattresses in all our bedrooms. There are 4 pillows of different hardness. Everyone does not use the same type of pillows. There are maps and brochures in the front entrance for our guest to use. Our Directory is placed in all our rooms for your perusal as well. I do not feel that your review was accurate of our establishment. We try to please all our customers and hope you enjoyed your stay.

Family basement suit. A disappointing stay in a place owned by an unwelcoming host. Read the website carefully. Do not show up when you hear other guests enjoying breakfast. Owner will rudely and unceremoniously shout among the dinners that you Do Not get breakfasts. This was how we were greeted on our first morning! It was very embarrassing. We sheepishly retreated to our basement suit, red faced!!! After breakfast was served upstairs, owner came down and told us we should read her website carefully. True we made a mistake but we didn't deserve being embarrassed in front of the other guests. She didn't bother to meet us when we checked in. It would have given her the opportunity to explain that family suit does not have breakfasts. Please spare future guests this embarrassment by making this clear through signage on the dining table or kitchen. It is Not the breakfast that is the issue. The issue is the embarrassment we suffered. We are not greedy people!!! Show more respect and courtesy to your guests!!! After serving other guests upstairs, she barged downstairs and told us curtly that there was cereal in two dispensers, she left the suit barking: Load your dishes in the dishwasher!!! We stayed two nights. On the morning of departure, at 10:30 am sharp she promptly let herself in our suit and barked : I Thought You Had Left! She retreated and barked again: Load The Dishes In The Dishwashers! What a mightmare of an experience!!!

I am sorry you felt like you were rudely treated. Guest are always told on arrival about breakfast & house rules . When guest arrive late there is no one there to explain things to them. You were not "Barked at" I simply explained the breakfast situation to you. When serving breakfast to B&B guest , the kitchen is very full and no room to cater to guest in the family suite. I cam downstairs after because I felt embarrassed for you. When I spoke to you there , no one acknowledged me, so I repeated it to try and let you know about our policies because I didn't know if you understood what I was saying. I did come down on the day of departure to clean because I honestly thought you were gone. my sincere apologies for any misunderstanding that may have happened. Hope this did not effect your stay or vacation in Twillingate. Thanks Deborah

We stayed here at the very end of September, 2019. The breakfast was not exceptional. Four of us had one slice each of home made bread that had been baked awhile ago. We made our own coffee, and ate some yogurt and fruit. Dry cereal was available. For a BnB, the first B was ok, but the second B seemed lacking. The sign in the front said "No Vacancy" though we had the only car there, so perhaps we were lucky that they even let us stay there. Upon reading other reviews I must have missed the condition that the basement unit didn’t include a hot breakfast. Just checked my reservation. Lots of verbage on fiscal issues, but not a word about no hot breakfast. Found another review on the same 2 bedrooms, one bathroom basement apartment that said: "Our hostess cooked and served a delicious breakfast." This is copied from their Tripadvisor description: "In the morning our staff serves up a delicious hot breakfast with fresh home baked bread, jams and jellies from berries picked locally. Our service is second to none."

I am sorry for the misunderstanding about the breakfast. We do not serve breakfast in the Family Suite . It is a self catered unit complete with stove and refrigerator., where you bring your own food. We do supply tea, coffee and cereal to help get you started. Our season was just about finished for the year. You were the only guest staying there at that time. Guest that book individual rooms do receive a hot breakfast which is included in their rate. The Family Suite is setup for 4-6 people and the rate does not include breakfast., that is why the rate is much less. I hope you understand the difference. I do remember you and it was nice to have you stay after travelling all the way from Hawaii. Thanks Deborah
