Sweet little B&B right on the main drag! Clean, friendly, and comfortable inn. Breakfast was delish both mornings with excellent conversations with the Hosts and other guests. Gary took us in last minute and welcomed us, to which we greatly appreciated. Close knit hometown feeling. Gary is a great resource of info for up-to-date events and past history story telling! Highly recommend this quaint B&B

A fabulous find after being told our booking somewhere else didn’t exist. Friendly & welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Charmaine told us where we’d find whales and was she ever right! We never would have had such an incredible experience if she hadn’t shared that with us. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable & breakfast was amazing, lots to choose from & lots of it! We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed for two nights with Gary and Charmaine at the Twillingate Century House Bed and Breakfast. The accommodations were excellent and centrally located. Breakfast was excellent and the beds were really comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts who gave us great advice for our weekend adventure. We’ll definitely be back.

We had planned our trip to Newfoundland in May of 2018. We had booked this B&B for a two night stay. When we arrived here I called Gerry, the owner for directions to his place. He told me that I had cancelled my reservation and he did not have room for us. I assured him that I had done no such thing. After some discussion he said that he would find us a place within the hour. He showed up in his car within ten minutes and brought us to Hillside B&B which was most acceptable. I guestioned him about the cancelation when he admitted to me the coast guard had booked his whole place for 4 to 5 weeks and he could not turn them down. In the end we were accomadated but disappointed in the way we were treated. He should have contacted us earlier and made alternate arrangements with us. We only stayed one night because it really put us off our game. I would have preferred truthfulness to a bunch of I’m sorry’s. Real Freynet Manitoba Canada.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying with Charmaine and Gary in their beautiful B&B. for three nights. Right away this couple made us feel very comfortable in their home. Our bedroom was beautiful, with a view of the water and a bed that at the end of the day was amazing to sleep in! Gary was an excellent guide to all the hiking trails around town, providing us with a detailed map. Our morning breakfast was relaxed in the family kitchen area with my husband and myself enjoyed a leisurely meal with the other guests. Gary and Charmaine were both part of our morning conversations, providing us with a greater understanding of the culture of Newfoundland. This review wouldn't be complete without a mention of the morning berry cobbler made fresh each day. Thank you for an incredible visit!

I don't write Trip Advisor reviews very often, but I will for this visit. If you want to experience what Newfoundland has to offer, in a short time frame, then fly into Gander, rent a car, and drive up Route 331 to Twillingate. Before you go, call Gary at Twillingate Century House B & B and book a room. Then relax and enjoy the island's authentic people and experience. Twillingate was originally an inland fishing port that became a commercial fishing harbour and is now a super duper tourist destination with whales, tour boats, a lighthouse, many many quiet coves, hiking trails, museums, restaurants and B & Bs, and even, sometimes, icebergs. In other words, it's a total destination. And then there is Gary Young and his lovely spouse, Charmaine (a nature photographer), who are Newfoundlanders to the core and delightful as hosts. Gary holds down the B&B booking side of the operation while Charmaine prepares a seasonal berry bread pudding for breakfast that is to die for. Eight of us sat at their large breakfast table the other day - a couple from San Diego, two travelers from Portland Oregon, two others originally from Germany, and the pair of us from Ontario. Conversation was, to say the least, quite fine, with Gary regaling us at times from a 'distinctly Newfoundland perspective' while serving up partridge berry pudding. Go there soon!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying with Gary and Charmaine for four nights. Gary was a wonderful host providing us with information about local attractions, dining and even sharing his own assessments of which hikes were not as scenic as others. He has a friendly, warm and helpful personality along with a great sense of humour. Breakfast was held at a large table adjoining the kitchen where all his guests could share their experiences. There was always hot food provided and it was delicious. If interested in hiking I would recommend at least three days to explore this area.
