The Hodge Premises Inn in the historic Hodge Premises offers a nostalgic return to yesteryear. Wake up with the sounds of sea birds and waves lapping on the shoreline… As one of Twillingate’s oldest heritage buildings, it proudly offers 7 distinctive guest rooms overlooking Twillingate Harbour. Two spacious rooms with private entrances at ground level provide easy access if you are concerned about stairs. Five more spacious, finely appointed guest rooms are upstairs with their own shared guest lounge.’ Each room has an oversized luxurious bathroom with plush towels and robes. Guests at the Hodge Premises Inn also has easy access to the Blue Barrel Gallery Café downstairs for specialty coffee, tea or home baked treats. It also offers a selection of artisan gifts and art for sale. In 2021 the Hodge Premises was awarded the National Trust Cornerstone Award for transformative heritage restoration as a conversion that “features careful work by the owners to balance continuity with transformation.”

The historic Hodge Premises has been renovated beautifully and now serves as a hotel and coffee/craft shop. The rooms are large and tastefully done with higher end linens , furniture and bathrooms. The building is right at the water's edge with a comfortable deck for relaxing and watching the harbor. There is parking on the premises. The Anchor Inn Hotel, operated by the same owners, has a quality restaurant, Georgie's, and a pub and is directly across the street. The downstairs craft and coffee shop, The Blue Barrel Gallery Café, was a great spot for a light breakfast. They serve Cappuccino, other coffees and teas, and fresh baked goods! All staff at the hotel, restaurant and café were very COVID aware and wore masks. It was a contactless check in and check out.

I'm just back from a super weekend wrapped in the luxury of the Hodge Premises in Twillingate. The spacious rooms, with high ceilings, sprawling king size bed, warm wood floors and tall windows facing the harbour, was the perfect backdrop for listening to the ocean lap the beach right beneath the open window. Bliss. we made good use of the cozy common room on the second floor and a jaunt down the stairs in the morning delivered a coffee and a scone at the Blue Barrel Cafe. Twillingate has so much to offer. Capping it all off this weekend was the annual Twillingate Unscripted Festival, a multi-media event organized by local makers and creators. I highly recommend Twillingate and the Hodge Premises for a weekend away or a stop on road trip across Newfoundland.

The Hodge Premises Inn is a quaint place right on the water. Our rooms were large and well appointed. Excellent modern spacious bathroom and amenities. But the best part, aside from the view, is the bedding. Luxuriously soft linens on an extremely comfortable king bed! There is a common area where we were able to sit, talk and enjoy a beverage just down the hall from our rooms. Downstairs is a bakery cafe - try the cranberry lemon scones - yummy! Across the street is a sister building with more rooms and the in house restaurant called Georgie’s. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The food was quite good although a little overerpriced.

We could not have been more pleased with our stay. Lovely rooms with waters edge views. A pleasant care for complimentary breakfast. Dining at Georgie's is highly recommended. Try the salmon. The pub is a great spot to unwind with a local beer after a day exploring the area.

What a beautiful place to stay. You are right on the ocean and the view is spectacular. The rooms are very clean, comfortable, and beautiful! The Blue Barrel Cafe has great coffee and treats. Then you can walk up the hill to the Anchor Inn restaurant for a great meal and then to the bar for a nightcap. The staff and service is Best Kind! We shall be back.. The Sharons

After a morning of hiking and walking we stopped to the Blue Barrel for coffee. Great cafe with a great variety of homemade sweets and treats. Great service and the cafe was beautifully decorated. A definite stop if in the area.

Large enough to host a party but unique and comfortable to enjoy a romantic weekend. Benefits are heritage experience; bedding; fridge; incredible views, cafe. Cons are loud AC. Overall a great spot; expensive!
