This was my 4th time staying at Captains legacy in twillingate, and it is still amazing!!. the owners Addie and John are wonderful, caring, kind and helpful people. The place is so cozy, clean, well decorated, warm and you feel like it's your own home. The complimentary Breakfast in amazing, everything John makes is made from scratch!!! AND u get to choose what you would like for breakfest the night before so it's ready when your ready, and every morning he makes some kind of baked good, the first morning its was partridgeberry orange scones, and the next morning it was wild blueberry scones and they were so delicious that i asked it I could purchase some to take home but they gave me 4 free to take with me. The view of the atlantic ocean it breathtaking, you can sit on their deck or be even closer to the ocean and sit on the chairs they have set up just above the water. John and addie are such wonderful people, they will sit and talk to you for as long as you want and suggest which restaurant to eat out at or which trail to go hiking on. I just can"t say enough about it. I love it, thank u john and addie, see you next year.

We stayed for 2 nights at Captain’s Legacy and it was perfect. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. The home is a beautiful heritage home and John and Addie were lovely and gracious hosts. The home is immaculately clean, impeccably decorated, consistent with the theme of Captain Peter Troake, and has a rich history in the town of Twillingate. The ocean view was amazing and the cool breeze through our open window at night and sounds of the waves made for a very peaceful sleep in a wonderfully comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed sipping our beverages on the front deck and chatting with John while overlooking the lights and harbour in Twillingate. Our breakfast each day was hot, fresh, tasty and plentiful and we were given lots of choices. Addie even provided us with some lovely homemade partridgeberry muffins as a snack for the road when we left. Lovely town, home, hosts, meals and experience. Highly recommend and will definitely return again soon!

My wife and I, are from St.John's and we stayed at this wonderful B&B for the first time on July12 and 13 2021. Our experience was, to say the least, top notch and deserving of the highest commendation. Addie and John are fabulous hosts, very friendly and engaging. They both extended a very warm welcome at the door during a heavy downpour! We were booked into the Elizabethan Room at the front of the house with a view of the ocean which is just across the Road. In the distance you can see the north side of Twillingate harbour. The house is actually in Harts Cove which is just another part of the larger Twillingate community. The Elizabethan room is very cozy with a private bathroom with shower. The bed very comfortable and lots room for my 6'3" frame. Very clean and nicely appointed. Cable TV and a good selection of channels (... but who needs TV when you're in Twillingate.) The breakfast, cooked by John, is all you could ask for with lots of hot coffee. My over-easy eggs and crispy bacon were cooked to perfection and the homemade partridge berry jam by Addie is to die for! This heritage home is very well maintained inside and out and the dining room features a 75 year old sail cloth mural on the walls. An array of Addies tea pots and other collectibles are on display. Deck chairs are well positioned both near the house and and across the road close to the rocky beach. The comfortable living room is a great place to sit and relax. There is even a very nice guitar for use by the musician guests. We thorougly enjoyed our stay and feel that the experience was great value for the money. We have no hesitation in saying we will return.! Frank&Deli

My wife and I are in Newfoundland for work, and decided to spend the Victoria Day long weekend exploring Twillingate. John and Addie were so helpful, giving us guidance on where to go for hikes, food, etc. The Home is very warm and inviting. Really comfy bed and quiet. The breakfast was great! Worked out amazing and we’d stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks!

This was our first stay at a B&B, so we didn't know exactly what to expect. From the moment we were greeted at the front door by Addie we were made to feel like family. She and John have an easy - going way and were always eager to share casual conversation and stories. They are both involved in community activities and events so were able to recommend a number of things to do during our three day visit. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters suite, which included a full ensuite, a very comfortable bed, and two leather armchairs in which you could sit and gaze out the window over scenic Twillingate harbour. The home is beautifully restored complete with period furnishings and historical photographs. John prepares a delicious breakfast each morning, complete with freshly baked scones made with locally picked berries, and homemade jam for your toast. As if all this were not special enough, we were blessed to meet John and Addie's dear friends, Jack and Florence. Their sharp wit, fun loving nature and life stories were the highlight of our trip. We were welcomed into their home as strangers and left as family.
