Best B&B we stayed at on our 2 week visit to Newfoundland! Breakfasts were delicious, rooms were comfy and clean and owners Addie and John are so helpful and friendly you won’t want to leave. Guest amenities include use of guest refrigerator, sitting room with TV, use of guest kitchen area and coffee maker and lovely deck to sit and enjoy the view of the ocean. This place is a real treasure!

Captains Legacy is a charming 18 th century bed and Bret.. The owners John and Addie are so gracious and helpful.. The inn is spotless, Addies doing, and John cooks a made to order breakfast. Both were so helpful in planning our two day stay in Twillingate and gave great recommendations on restaurants. We couldn’t have had a better time ! Highly recommend this place!

This BnB is a historic, immaculately maintained home formerly owned by a local Sea Captain who was awarded the Order of Canada. The owners, John and Addie are very welcoming and knowledgeable about all things local. Our room looked over the beautiful ocean cove. Breakfast was superb, assuming you like homemade everything (including the jam preserves, which we stocked up on to take home to share). Amazing coastal hiking trails especially French Beach and around the local lighthouse. Wonderful experience and highly recommended. Thanks again John and Addie!

Our three night stay at the Captain’s Legacy B and B in Twillingate was the highlight of our two week trip to Newfoundland. The house itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, a beautiful, comfy room with a sea view. There is a cozy sitting room for guests and a guest kitchen stocked with coffee, teas and snacks. The house sits on the water with a lovely front garden and a beach sitting area for lounging or daydreaming. The breakfasts are varied and absolutely awesome. John and Addie, who have owned and run the place for nine years, are the most gracious and welcoming hosts imaginable. We really felt at home. Twillingate itself was our favorite stop. Hope to return in June or July to see the icebergs.

We had an amazing time in Twillingate and at the Captain's Legacy. The property is absolutely beautiful with an amazing view of the water and hosts Addie and John are fantastic. They had recommendations for places to eat and best tours to see the icebergs (there were so many!), were super friendly, and made a lovely breakfast. The highlight of our time there was sitting out by the water in the Adirondack chairs drinking cocktails made with iceberg ice John had gotten for us.

Loved this B & B. Hosts Addie and John were so nice. Breakfeast was amazing and our room had a great view and breeze going thru the room. Watched the sunset from the front of the B&B. Had a great 2 night stay. Highly recommend.

Great location, you can spot icebergs from your room. Beautiful house, John and Addie are great hosts and will help you make the best of your stay in Twillingate. Twillingate is a great little town with lots to do, from hiking to whale watching and of course iceberg watching.

Even though the weather was not kind to us, we have fond memories of our stay in Twillingate, thanks to Addie and John. They are perfect and very pleasant hosts. The Captains Legacy is a beautifully renovated house with very stylish and well kept rooms. In addition, there is an excellent breakfast that John prepares in the morning. We enjoyed our stay there very much because Addie and John create a special family atmosphere between the guests. This leads to interesting exchanges and nice contacts, so that we were pleased to have met one or the other guest again on our further journey through Newfoundland. So, a definitely recommendable B&B.

Of the several B&b's we used on our recent tour of Newfoundland (the whole Island) no establishment got close to Captains Legacy in Twillingate. It came out "tops" in all categories. We would recommend it, John and Addie, without reservation. Should we return to "The Rock" Captains Legacy will be our first call.

We were so busy looking at all the icebergs we got lost trying to find it, but one quick call and Addie got us on the right track. A lovely old home beautifully managed by Addie & John. Our room was perfect and had everything we could possibly need. A lovely dining room where John cooked up great breakfasts while Addie kept us entertained and gave suggestions on what to do and see in the area. The living room was well used by all staying there exchanging travel stories and having great laughs. They had lots of outside sitting opportunities, including chairs right down at the waters edge; unfortunately, the weather was just not cooperating for us to use them. If you’re looking for a place to stay while in Twillingate, look no further than Captains Legacy. Hopefully we’ll get to stay with you again Addie & John!
