Detailed Reviews
We travelled to Lomond River with reservations confirmed for two cabins booked "together" for two families. We planned our vacation this way because of small children. When we arrived we were notified that our plans had been changed and we were placed in the two cabins furthest apart. We were told by the owner that she wasn't aware of our booking because she didn't make the reservation for us. We advised her that we were unhappy with the fact that we had driven over 3 hours to get there and in turn didn't get what we had reserved.
I understand that everyone makes mistakes but when the owner made us aware that she wasn't worried about our business because they are booked all the time, she sure made our decision not to stay the second night as we were booked - and ended our vacation early. Sucks to be paying customers I guess......crappy service - but who cares, afterall, they are booked all the time.

We stayed in a cabin here for three nights. Overall, it was tidy and clean, and well upkept. The location was perfect, close to the Tablelands and Woody Point, but farther from the northern reaches of Gros Morne. The setting was wooded and on the river, providing privacy not found in many other local cabins. Drawbacks included primitive cooking utensils in the kitchen, thread-bare towels, and nothing but straight-back chairs to sit in. I would have loved a couch or love seat to stretch out and read in. Our stay extended over the weekend and the Saturday night rock band at the clubhouse played far too loud until at least 1 a.m., keeping us awake. Some units are twin cabins with shared walls that are thin.

We loved this spot located on the main road to the South part of Gros Morne park. If you stay here you are going to want to have access to a vehicle as there is nothing nearby aside from the other lodges and campsites. Though there is food services, a bar (which is a great place to relax and play pool after a day of hiking) and the cabins are quite comfortable. We had originally planned to stay for 4 nights and ended up cancelling our other reservations and staying for a week. You have the option of cooking your own food or ordering something from their small take-out (fries, burgers *including moose burgers when we were there* and etc. They sometimes also have specials such as a jigg's dinner and basically it was what they themselves were having for supper. Also breakfast in the morning). All in all a nice spot to stay as you can drive to explore both the south part of the park (Trout River, Glenburnie, etc.) and also the nothern part of the park (Rocky Harbour, etc.). We would definitely stay there again.

my experience was terrible. the staff were very ignorant. The owner Doris was drunk on rum and coke the whole day. Her son came into our room (also very drunk) for a room check and placed his dentures on our table. They literally encouraged a group of teens to drink and drive after they kicked them out for no reason. The owner Doris was wearing very inappropriate clothing for a business owner and a woman of her age. There were cigarette butts under our bed. There were motorcycle gangs riding bikes and smoking marijuana at all hours of the night. The female shower had broken beer bottles on the floor. This was the worst camping experience of my life. It was my first and last stay at that dump.

We booked a full service RV lot for 2 nights, after paying for our lot we discovered that someone else was already in that lot. I went back and spoke to the owner she informed me that there was no lot available for us as they over booked. I did not get a full refund and we had to park our trailer on the grass with no water or sewage and as far as electricity went they ran an extensions cord into someone else's lot. We had to go back and find the owner on three separate occasions to even get the extension cord. Terrible customer service, I would not recommend this site to anyone.

We had an EXCELENT stay! We stayed for a full week, week days were peaceful and quite nice for family's hiking and salmon fishing the campground is located right on the beautiful lomond river and there is a number of walking trails to different parts of the river which was absolutely beautiful. This camp site is also located right in gros morne national park and is close to the tablelands, gros morne mountain and tons of great excursions around the national park. So much to do around you could spend a month there and still not complete everything. The cabins were quite tidy two rooms a double bed in each in the main room of the cabin there is a recliner love seat fireplace and a small television with satiate tv they also have internet which was a little spotty at the cabin but worked great in the lodge, snack bar and office. They also have tent sites, even sites and motel units available. During the weekend the campsite tends to fill up as the have entertainment in the lodge untill late in the night but all the people there were quite friendly and the owner Doris was always around when needed as well as her grown son Darren and if not the workers at the snack bar would be happy to call up to then or help you out if you needed anything. We had a great stay and would recommend it for a future reference! Would definitely stay again

Had the two bedroom unit....double beds in each room, covered in a vinyl mattress protector...why?? Thin/yellowed bedding and towels. No paper towels, extra TP or even a hair dryer (maybe because there was no plug in the bathroom) Couch was broken...uncomfortable wooden chairs to watch tv, no lighting except ceiling light... 1 small tv in living area...that awful loud generator running just outside the cabin ALL night and day!!!! No cell service and very spotty wifi ....we were on vacation but had to keep in touch with the business..Lots of spiders and earwigs...yes I do know its the country..that's why I said it would be great for hikers...
Positives...food was great at the snack bar..expensive but very good. Had a nice camp ground attached with treed lots.
Wasn't for us....

Rented a two bedroom ‘cabin’, woke up to no hot water after listening to the generator running all night long. When told staff about the hot water, not even an apology for the inconvenience. Although clean, space was very cramped within the ‘cabin’ living spaces, hard to get around. After staying at other places in the area, this place was not worth the price, even though it was less expensive than others. If you like the ‘trailer park’ feel this place is for you!

Worse than Walmart parking lot. Horrible electric said it was 15 amp did trip a breaker and was told to go out in the drive in front of my camper and wiggle the ends of the wires. Won’t want a child playing there. No WiFi no cell service. Dogs barking all night and running around without leashes. Lots of seasonal trailers parked, lots of cursing, etc. not recommend
