I was not expecting to be wow'd, because of the campground affiliation, but I have to say Wow. This place was fantastic, the view was AMAZING, the deck was nice and roomy and the place was very clean. The bathroom was big, the only drawback was that I didn't have a blanket for 2 nights, my bad mostly because I...

Been to Ivan's many times since '96 & enjoyed it each time. Have tented & stayed in a cabin. Think of camping in the back yard of a bar on a beautiful beach & you've got Ivan's. Not state park type camping, tho. The plumbing's pretty crappy. Forget the shower. Get a gallon jug, fill it with water (cistern), warm...

We went not expecting much, after all, it's camping facilities. We didn't arrive until it was dark which was less than ideal as they have no lighting whatsoever. We wandered around for 15 minutes trying to find a person to check in with and once we did she could not find our reservation. She was actually looking for our credit...

Ivan is very quiet but well respected. He runs many of the businesses on Jost Van Dyke and the campgroud is a place like no other. You dine in a communal fashion after you individually cook what you like. We invented a spam and spaghetti dinner there! Sounds gross but I actually have 6 new spam fans. The grounds are...

This is not a place for everyone. What is writen in a prvious review "A simple place not for everyone" is all true. I should have read it closely before I went. Here is my observation. To be fair, I list good things and bad things. Good things: 1. The property is on the beautiful beach. 2. The decoration of...

We traveled to Jost during the Holiday and stayed 2 days at Ivan's stress-free campground. While we did have a great time, I did not like the place. My first overall impression was good: the place is right on the beach and looks kooky and cute. Then we got to the cabin... We were not expecting the Ritz but we...

During the first morning of our stay at Ivan's, a large Catamaran cruised up to the shore and unloaded fifty or so people day tripping from a fancy (I won't mention the name) resort on St. Thomas. One of my favorite aspects of Ivan's was the relative emptiness of the beach, so, after watching most of the sailboaters get a...

Jost Van Dyke is a very unique place. Nicest people I have ever seen anywhere. The campground is very basic. This is really the best way to stay right on an amazing beach for a couple bucks. I'm used to roughing it, but sharing one bathroom with 50 or so other people was a little tough (the other bathroom was...

We camped right on the beach, made new friends, felt safe and at home. Not a place for people who like amenities and I would not recommend it for small children. I felt like I was at a Dead show and that was fine with me! And really, DON'T pick up a soldier crab!

I was a bit nervous about the trip when it was being planned. However, the trip was fabulous and all my worries were for nothing! Ivan's Stress free camp ground was wonderful! We stayed there Saturday Jan 17 thru Wednesday Jan 21 to celebrate birthdays. We met great, interesting, talented and friendly people and also helped nurse a baby goat...
