Visited the L'auberge Du Vieux Port in Jacmel for a delicious lunch and live acoustic music, and enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much. The owner was charming and charismatic and hosted us as we listened to the music and enjoyed a creole meal with fresh papaya juice. We received a tour of the accomodations and the rooms are lovely, spacious, and cozy. The rooftop patio is suave and has a beautiful view of the city and Port of Jacmel, which is only two blocks away. Nearby you can walk to the port, go to eat, and browse many artists and vendors set up with their work on the cobblestones. Loved visiting!
We went for lunch at this luxurious hotel and were treated to live music and a delicious meal as well as a rooftop tour. Located in a beautiful historic neighborhood, they are off the grid and gracious hosts.
I write reviews if I get a service that's either exceptional or below standards. I decided that I was going to Jacme, after a couple of weeks searching for hotels, I decided on L’Auberge du Vieux Port. I have to say I was blown away by the location, food, beverage, and service. Five-star treatment at a three-stars location. The co-owner George Boursicot, Manager Fabine went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was fully enjoyable and memorable. I have to say the team that supports the hotel did a very good job, especially Jeanvion, the Bartender who mixes some kick-ass cocktails, let me not forget the person that got us there from Port-au-Prince to Jacmel and back to PAP, Maurice. Thank you to the team of L’Auberge du Vieux Port.
This is a new hotel as of 2018, not even a year old. Location is on the pedestrian street in the historic district, right down the block from Florita, Cafe Koze, and two blocks from the sea front (this is a historic district hotel, not a beach hotel). Jacmel Arts Center is a block away. The La Source bus depot to/from PAP is a ten-minute walk away. The morning coffee is strong and the breakfast eggs were perfectly cooked. Takes credit cards, includes decent wifi, and has good A/C and ceiling fans in the rooms, along with writing desks. Bonus: Sliding door screens to keep out the mosquitoes. I got stuck here due to a road issue as a result of protests, and the staff were helpful and good-humored about it. I had many long conversations with the owner, George, who spent almost as many years in Brooklyn as I have been alive. He can be found strolling about town in his dapper outfits or petting his cat when not running the hotel.…
My husband and I stopped by this well appointed hotel for a quick drink while in Jacmel. What we discovered was a Marriott quality hotel full of all of our creature comforts like full AC, amazing Wi-Fi, charming ambiance, great service, and delicious food in the heart of Jacmel, just yards away from Hotel Florita! Had we known this gem was here...we would have booked our stay at L'auberge Vieux. The owner, George is very knowledgeable about the area and passionate about Haitian culinary arts! I would recommend this hotel and bar/restaurant to anyone having delighted over the food and touring the rooms. Checkout our rooftop pics. Lastly, don't believe the hype...all is safe and well in Haiti. We almost cancelled our trip due to media's portrayal of Haiti's current events. We've been safe. All is well!…
