I was in Jacmel for a couple of days and needed a clean bed, secure location and was yearning for a hot shower. I got all of this at Florita for 58€ a night incl. breakfast in the "old pool courtyard" room. Don't look further, you won't find a better place in Jacmel city. Pros: all of the above, attentive...

Located right in the mix. Felt safe walking around and got a feel of the local art and flair. Great place and friendly staff especially Gabriel (if he is wearing a Yankees cap it was from me lol). I definitely will be back at the Florita.

Its amazing to see how the hotel Florita from 1888 still there! We went to have dinner and the ambiance was really nice and not too crowded. For me the service was average and the food took a lot of time but was worth it. We had creole dishes such as lambi, lobster, etc. Do not expect a lot of...

Obviously it is a very special building. However, the hotel aspect of it could be improved. This would include having diner options available during the diner time at evening (rather than having a cook who leaves to attend private matters, directly after having catered two other guests), having a check out (rather than being locked in during the morning around...

The Hotel Florita is charming and unique - a haven in the middle of pretty Jacmel. You sense the history and hospitality all around you in this beautiful hotel. Its perfectly placed to walk around Jacmel and a short taxi away from the beaches etc. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and the breakfast in the bar is excellent. Recommended.

Wasn't sure what to expect but found this place quite charming. Our room was on the third floor, had a private bath. Bed was so high off the floor I needed help in. It would be good for a step stool to be provided. Lots of windows and large balcony with view of laneway. Our stay included breakfast which was...

Enchanting: From the moment you enter the property, you are overcome with natural beauty and a sense of stepping back in time. It feels as if you walking into your home: Intricate wrought iron staircase with filtered light, dark wood, dreamy canopy beds, and stunning views of the ocean and sunset from the third floor. It's massive! Cascading white and...

Two of us went to the hotel for a short weekend in Jacmel. We couldn't have been happier. The hotel is an old converted house of 3 floors and the owner has converted it into a hotel with about 10 rooms in various locations on the property which is now three contiguous plots put together to make one hotel. The...

This is a beautiful historical1888 house turned into a hotel. It is nicely preserved, keeping the old French Colonial feel to the place. The location is very good, near the center of town a short walk about a block to the water. Wifi is available. The rooms are spacious and come with fans and mosquito netting. My bed was very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The finest house in Jacmel. Built in 1888 in "New Orleans" style. Furnished with antiques--art is everywhere. The best restaurant and bar in town--by far. Jacmel is the safest and most charming town in Haiti--and Haiti has always been the most interesting country in the Caribbean for sophisticated travelers. The Hotel Florita is the only 19th Century house that is as it still in daily use. It is an opportunity to see what life in Jacmel was like for the coffee merchants a hundred years ago. Jacmel was built on coffee--the cash crop of subsistence farmers in the mountains--and still has the best coffee anywhere. We now have a pool and will take you to any local beach--and pick you up as well. We arrange for you to get picked up at the airport--or exactly how to take local transportation to get here. We arrange excursions and do whatever we can to make your visit to Jacmel memorably pleasant. We have a large and comfortable restaurant and bar. Please go to TripAdvisor to see our reviews--and who wrote them! (TripAdvisor rates us as the number one hotel in Haiti.) ... more   less
