Huge waste of time sadly. And staff doesn’t care about repeat customers. High cost for utilizing internet. Limited menu and food mediocre to bad honestly. Better options on street next to Colin’s. Hopefully they realize their error in charging a customer for internet. And staff injects a bit of caring about clientele. Food. An upgrade and some diversity would be better for tourist fare
We stayed at the Colin's Hotel for two nights and had a great experience. The hotel booked our transportation to and from the airport and our guide to Bassin Bleu. The staff was very friendly. On the ground floor is the lobby, a restaurant and bar, and a pool. The food at the restaurant was delicious! Of course, it is Haiti so all the food on the menu may not be available. There were great views of the beach and boardwalk. The sunset views were amazing! Our hotel room was nice and comfortable. It had beautiful wooden details. We had hot water which was amazing. The room also had air conditioning and fans. We felt safe the whole time we were there and we had a great stay.
We first traveled to Hotel Cyvadier Plage but having booked in and walked around as the main draw was a beach for the two young girls we saw the beach was only a few metres long and being used by the locals, no beach available. We booked out and called a taxi to take us to Colins Hotel very warm welcome and given two rooms one family the other a double. Location was first class next to Jacmel Art Galerie and fronting the promenade (lots of people watching), arts and local restaurants within 2 mins walk, felt very safe and at home no hassling. Staff were very good from waitress to manager but the kitchen needed a wake up call.
3 Stars for location, but that is about it. We stayed here during a recent visit to Jacmel and I was so disappointed. The hotel has a pool, but there is barely any deck to tan on its so awkwardly placed. Crammed into the center between the lobby, bar and restaurant. We booked a room with a balcony and found noisy people on our balcony at all times of the day and night. I am not sure why there is any idea that this is a shared space if their are guests in the room attached to the balcony, I complained to the front desk and nothing changed. They did not come service the room unless we asked... which I feel should be standard in a hotel. Our upstairs neighbor was absurdly noisy and spent 3 hours every morning making noise @ 6am. We asked the desk to resolve and again nothing. Finally my husband confronted the patron himself and we had a little quiet on the last morning of our trip. We ate at the restaurant, but there was never food at the buffet for breakfast when we went down so we had to order a la carte from the restaurant which would have been fine if it didn't take an hour EVERY time and the food presentation was underwhelming. We would order an omelette and an hour later that's all that came on the plate. Not a slice toast, tomato or garnish just a cold egg folded in 3. This hotel has great potential and its design is a smaller version of La Jacmelienne so I was anticipating a better stay. I would return to Jacmel but never to Colin's.…
We stumbled upon the Colin's Hotel during a walk and were immediately impressed by it's location: in the center of town and situated right on the Promenade du bord de mer à Jacmel. We were pleasantly received when we inquired about room availability and price and once we made up our mind on the spot, the hotel staff was quick in helping us get comfortable and settled in. Keep in mind: the perfect location does not always equal silence, especially near such a popular local spot. Up until midnight, the promenade and the hotel (pumping music in the resto) are quite active with plenty of noise. That being said, we weren't entirely bothered by the noise (and we had our 14 month old with us!), though it would be nice if the hotel lowered the volume of the music just a bit. We stayed one night, but we definitely would have stayed a bit longer if it weren't an overnight trip. Glad to have saved money and travel time by randomly walking into the Colin's Hotel!…
