Centrally located on the beautiful island of Culebra, The Lighthouse is up the hill from the airport, where tropical breezes await you. Your hosts David and Mary Wiedner will meet you at the ferry or airport and take you on a tour of the island or to pick up your rental vehicle. We offer many amenities including off street parking, a refrigerator and microwave as well as coffee pot in every room and a spacious private bath. We also offer beach towels and a cooler. Beach chairs are available. We are only 1.8 miles from beautiful Flamenco Beach and just a 3-minute walk to the grocery store. Should you elect not to rent a car, we are minutes away from a publico (minibus) route, or a 20-minute walk to town. We are on-site year round and look forward to making your vacation relaxing and memorable.

This is our second time at the Lighthouse - this time with our 2 little ones. Nothing has changed from when we were previously here 4 years ago - which is a great thing!! Nothing but a clean, homey place to stay. The room has a comfortable bed & pillows, mini fridge, microwave, warm water, soap & shampoo, along with dish soap (which is great as we had bottles to wash). There is a grocery store right down the street and the airport & car rental is also conveniently near by. Not to mention Playa Flamenco is a 5-10 minute car ride down the road!

We loved our 5-night stay in the Green Room which was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely garden right in front of our door where we enjoyed sitting. Great location. Wonderful hosts. We'll be back!

We booked this room as a rest spot the first and last day of our Culebra adventure and it does not disappoint. Mary and David were friendly and helpful with the many questions we had and assisted in a minor snafu we had with a beach vendor. Mary even offered to lend us a sheet to sleep on while we were camping on Flamenco. We stayed in a room at the back of the property that was completely private and cozy. The room was colorful and bright, clean and had the best mattress I have ever slept on. My husband and I are planning on buying one ourselves. Now, I have nothing negative to say about this property, we enjoyed every minute we spent there, but I don't believe it would be right for everyone. If you're expecting a luxurious accommodation with room service, this is not that place. Free Wi-Fi is available but reception just about everywhere on the island can be spotty and there's no TV- but if you're on Culebra you shouldn't be sitting in your room watching the tube you need to be out walking or in your golf cart exploring this rustic Caribbean island and its amazing beaches. The room had air conditioning but we only needed the ceiling fan. Microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine (with complementary Puerto Rican coffee) and eating utensils are made available. When we make another trip back, we will book here. Highly recommend.…

This is a ordinary living residence where the ground floor has four rooms for renting. The rooms are clean and ok for sleeping, but nothing more. The price is to high for the low standard. You may walk to Flamingo beach in 25 minutes and to the centre in 15 minutes

I walked in and walked out. The room and bathroom are positively claustrophobic (really...room for a bed, mini fridge and nothing else), the bed is not comfortable, and there is a 1/3 roll of 1 ply toilet paper and 0 other toiletries provided. For anyone coming for less than a week, the idea of arriving and having to go buy hand soap, shampoo, conditioner (or whatever you might find in a normal B&B) is really discouraging. For someone wanting to stay just a couple nights...yeah, factor those costs in with the room cost along with the time investment required...not so appealing. This is really more "Airbnb/hostel" than "Inn/Bed and Breakfast". So if you bring ALL your own toiletries (or you don't wash your hands after using the bathroom and don't shower on a regular basis), don't care what you sleep on, and don't want to do anything but sleep in the room (because walking across the room takes 2 steps), this place is ok. I'm flabbergasted at the number of 5 star ratings.…

"Read, Read, Read as many Reviews as possible, before you make a decision...this was what helped us to make this decision....and check the fotos by the Owners and the Visitor...we looked at many places on the Internet and here on TripAdvisor and THE LIGHTHOUSE provided one of the best pictures of the Rooms and the Rental... Unfortunately, we did not take pictures...but the Picture of the Lighthouse used above, is the yellow and teak, the way we found it. It has 2 floors, we were given the downstairs Coral Room which made it very accessible to pack up the Jeep with the beach chairs, coolers, etc."Read full review
