We were just there for 5 days and really enjoyed our stay. The guest house was just as in the photos, everything pretty and quite simple (like the rest of the island). Aside from the guest rooms there are several nice sitting areas, including in the pretty garden in the back, and two shared kitchens. Coffee is provided in the morning, and usually the owner whips up some delicious baked goodies. (Thanks, Kate, for that!) Every room comes with beach towels, and there are beach chairs and coolers at the guests’ disposal. We flew to Culebra in one of those tiny puddle jumpers and got to the guest house on foot from the “airport” in a couple of minutes. We rented a golf cart right next door - highly recommended to get to all the wonderful beaches and snorkeling places, and to the restaurants. Kate can provide all kinds of advice on what to do on the island, where things are, where to eat or shop. We were sorry to leave and hope to come back.

We enjoyed our stay, nice amenities, but meeting the hosts and other guests turned out to be the highlight of our trip. We met folks from North America, South American, Europe, Puerto Rico and Asia and had some great times laughing together on the back deck in those warm evenings filled with frog song

Great place to stay with a perfect location and some beautiful human beings as hosts. Has everything you need to enjoy your vacation at the island of Culebra. Would stay here every other time I visit the island.

That is the way I felt during an 8 day stay in May. Susan is the ideal hostess and great source of island information including the best places to eat and the best beaches to swim and snorkel . Go early to see the most fish and huge turtles. The Palmetto is very close to the airport, grocery store and jeep and golf cart rentals and about a ten minute cart ride to the center of town and twenty minute ride to two beaches.. Rooms are various sizes. The real dead time is in the fall when I understand some of the eating places close so the two communal kitchens at Palmetto are really nice to have.

We arrived before check in, but Susan was very friendly and welcomed us. Also, we were informed of the best places to eat and visit (all excellent). Susan also allowed us to leave our bags in the lobby and, upon returning from the beach, the bags were already in our room. The room was a bit small but cozy and with enough space for two people. The bathroom was very clean, just like the rest of the gesthouse. We were surprised by the lovely terrace and fresh coffee every morning. A great experience!

I know there is a king bed with no footboard in the room in the courtyard, and several rooms have queen beds. I think your best bet would be to call or text Kate, the host. She should be able to describe what is available.

The island is only 7 miles long and 4 miles wide but your best bet is to rent a golf cart. Beaches are about 20 minutes ..and the airport is a 7 minute walk from the guest house

Hello, Flights are available from SJU on Cape Air and Air Flamenco and Isla Grande Airport is just a 20 minute taxi ride away and flights are less expensive. Vieques Air Link and Air Flamenco fly from this airport as well. May is not considered high season, so the ferry is a good option. You can book a taxi in advance with Al (787-590-9001) for around $60 for 2 people. Ferry tickets for Culebra are purchased on the day you travel. The 9am ferry is the busiest ferry and often sells out with many people in line (even if they got in line at 6am), so I recommend travelers come to Culebra on the 3pm ferry instead. There is nothing to do at the ferry dock, so it is better to plan something enjoyable for the morning and to go to the ferry dock after lunch. Best Wishes, Susan Moran, Owner
