We stayed for 8 nights , The staff warned us as we arrived that they are a backpackers accommodation venue and that the backpackers can get a bit load. There was no noise from the backpackers, only an inconsiderate permanent resident who started using a circular saw at 7.00am next to our site. The amenities block was always clean. After...

Convenient to Childers township with super friendly and helpful owners who were very accommodating to two road weary travellers. First night motorhome Camping and we had a great drive through site that was well priced. Yes loads of backpackers but they were super friendly and no problem. Amenities were pretty good but no restaurant for food. We'll be staying there...

We are travelling around Australia on an 8 month trip - so far in seven months there have been no problems, HOWEVER, this was before we booked into the Sugar Bowl Caravan Park in Childers, Queensland. We were greeted well and given a site near the toilet block, so far, great. About 2.30 pm the backpackers started arriving back from...

I wish to advise folks of the beautiful nature of Rod and Janelle from Sugarbowl Caravan Park. Whilst my 18 year old son and his mate were driving from Brisbane to Cairns I was desperately seeking for somewhere they cold stop and rest for a few hours. When I called (late and after office closing time) Rod and Janelle were...

Rod and Janelle do their best to find people jobs at Sugarbowl. I was quite lucky. I arrived 5 June and was working 6 June on the tomatoes (bad job but a way to tick off my days). The facilities are alright. If you are in the top cabins they are nice. The pool is a lovely touch and the...

With my boyfriend we stay 3months in Sugar Bowl and it was excellent! Is a very nice place, nice vibes, the owners are always worried to find you a job and there all legal and well paid. We love Sugar Bowl and the awesome moments that we spend there! We recommended 100%

Hey guys, if you'd like to stay in the sugar bowl for collecting farmdays or just work, make sure you arrive there in the right season. Which would be January for mangoes and lytchees, for around 4 to 8 weeks, and middle of March for avocados for up to 5 months.. there's usually smaller jobs like melons, zucchinis, and general...

We arrived there mid January after being told we could find work...to qualify to get on the work list we had to pay a total of $330pw for a powered camp site, that also paid for our bus to work. (a normal powered site is around $110-$120). For the next 6 weeks, we (as well as the majority of the...

I spent four months here doing my farm work and it was one of the best experiences of my travels. The caravan park offers you clean rooms with a personal tv and fridge with a chance to upgrade to a cabin if you prefer. It also has beautiful views of rural Australia and a swimming pool. I met some friends...

If you're a backpacker looking to get your days for a 2nd year visa then this place is pretty much perfect. The owner (Rod) is straight up about work availability, and will always try to get you full-time hourly paid work. Having stayed in other working hostels who are only interested in getting you enough hours to pay your rent...
