The hotel has an elegant old timey feel, very charming. Wonderful central location that is a solid base from which to see the local area, go on wine tours, etc. We did the High Tea which my wife loved and I also thought was fun. Our room was a bit small but it was very nice and the deck was...

This is a beautiful hotel in a lovely little town. The rooms are large and well-appointed. The feel of the place is great, really cosy and sophisticated. The books and games are a nice touch. The bed was very comfy and the linen good quality. The only issue was the water pressure was very poor and the toilet did not...

We stayed here as part of a romantic getaway weekend. Highly recommend it for style and ambiance. The restaurant meal was delightful. Try for a garden room if you don't like the sound of the chatter and clatter of evening revelry in town.

We stayed for three nights at the lovely old Martinborough Hotel but in a relatively new Garden room. Lovely quiet location, comfortable bed and nice bathrobes which were so soft. Had dinner in the restaurant three times and were not disappointed. Paddock to plate was evident with fresh NZ fish and my husband loved the delicious rabbit special so much...

Built in 1882 and graced with a wrap around balcony which our room, named Pharazyn, looked out onto, this was a truly beautiful building. Our room was decorated in a French chateau style with blue and cream wall panels, padded headboard, curtains and cushions to match. Wooden floorboards, cream furniture, old fashioned radiators - lovely. Bathroom was through louvred doors...

Lovely location and amazing history as THE PLACE TO GO somewhat brought down by reality. We were there for a wedding which was really well organised and out rooms where at a great rate. BUT, our room while beautiful had a shower head that just did not stay put, also one of the reading light bulbs was gone - little...

We had a wedding just out of Martinborough. The Hotel seemed the obvious choice for accommodation. We booked lovely queen room. It wasn't huge, but was fine. A bit of a lack of storage, small draw unit and small closet, but there were two chairs to drape things over. The bathroom was pretty basic, not much shelving for my wife's...

The Martinborough is a gracious old hotel which offers all of the conveniences of a the modern cinderblocks with a lot more charm. Yes the room and bath is on the smaller side but that is more than balanced by the doors onto your private second floor veranda that overlooks the town square and park

We stopped here between Napier & Wellington for my boyfriends birthday! I think I was expecting more of the whole town, it was very sleepy but the hotel & room was nice. We were put in a room up stairs which I think most or their rooms are so that might be bothersome to some but great little balcony on...

Stayed in a Garden Suite. Price $240 for a night. Positives: Great location on the square. Lovely heritage building. Room was large, quiet and opened out onto a lovely garden. Huge bathroom with an amazing clawfoot tub. Best bath ever. Negatives: Both bedside lamps had dead lightbulbs. Shower bracket in bathroom broken; this, combined with an ill-fitting shower curtain meant...

Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. We have checked the light bulbs in the Garden Suite and both seem to be working fine, so we wonder if it was actually an issue with the light switches? For our guests convenience we have installed a light switch both up on the wall and down by the bedside. If...
