We spent three nights at the Cliffs Edge and can easily say it was the highlight of our New Zealand adventure. Our room was very comfortable with a sea view of a bay that had enough activity for interest but ever so serene. Our host Peter was wonderful and so gracious. Dinner is an option here and we would recommend...

Lovely homely place to stay with stunning views over the water. Peter, the host, will do everything possible to make your stay memorable. The food is outstanding and cooked to your taste. My partner caught fish, so Peter went out of his way to serve it up in the style we like. You will need a car there though as...

This was one of the highlights of a 35 day tour, an attraction as well as a B&B. Wonderful room with full wrap-around windows, comfy bed, large modern bath, and good internet. The very large, beautiful public lounge pulled the guests out of their rooms and led to lively discussions with international guests. The open bar with wine and top...

Back again for superb food, best views, comfortable bedrooms and a large and roomy "common" lounge where you can either chat with other guests or just enjoy a glass of wine whilst continuing to watch the boats go about their business. Peter continues to make fine dining even finer and we were lucky enough to have had him cook just...

Magnificent views from every part of the property. It really is on the cliff edge so nothing between you and the views. Great location - easy access to Paihia and the vehicular ferry from Opua to Russell. Peter was a very charming host and the food he cooked for us was beautiful. The perfect place to relax in, whether it's...

We intended to stay 3 evenings but stayed for 4, yes it's hard to find but really worth the effort! Our room had amazing sea views I don't think I would ever tire of looking at them no matter what the weather. Our last evening we watched the sail club take their boats out into the sun absolutely stunning and...

Absolutely stunning location overlooking Bay of Islands. Owner is also chef. Communal lounge and guests who stay to dine eat together round one table. Great opportunity to share stories and find good places to visit. Peter Meier the owner likes you to treat it as a home from home and is very welcoming. He is an excellent chef and uses...

We stayed at Cliff Edge for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed Peter's hospitality. Our room had a view mainly to the side but that didn't matter as we were only in there at night. The guest lounge has a 180 degree view out over the Bay of Islands so any spare time was spent there. We had an amazing dinner...

Spent 3 nights between Christmas and New Year. Very comfy 4/5 bedroom B&B with optional superb food from Peter - ex food writer of Sydney Sunday Telegraph. Option for all guests to eat at large table in the evening. We met some fascinating people and would thoroughly recommend to do this. Location is 20 minutes walk from a nice, simple...
