We stayed here for 3 nights ... should have stayed more. It was fabulous. We ate out two nights and in one. If you stay and they ask if you want to eat in ... say yes definitely say yes!!! The food was amazing. One of the best racks of lamb I have had and we have eaten in some...

A wonderfully restful and peaceful lodge. Glennis and Yogi make their guests their guests. If ever there is a way to begin a NZ holiday, this is it. The views from the communal deck are not to be believed as is the food. B'fast and dinner are served at a large dining table. Aside from superb food, prepared fresh each...

Stayed here for two nights, but would happily have stayed for more. Extremely comfortable accommodation and superb views across the Bay of Islands. Our hosts made us feel welcome right from arrival to departure, and a highlight of our stay was the dinner prepared by Glennis, ably assisted by Yogi! Should you stay at the Sanctuary don't miss this. This...

Yogi & Glynnis were AWESOME! The driveway was a little scary, but Yogi made it work with the 'magic box' every day, and we appreciated it. Be sure to stay in for dinner when its available, as your hosts are free with sharing their wine and have excellent culinary skills. We happened to be there when their chef friend was...

Please read all of this: Arrived yesterday for day 1 of a two day stay, met at the door by Yogi and Glennis the owners who warmly welcomed us into the retreat with a glass of wine and showed us around. Despite the appalling weather "persistent rain" the place lived up to its name and the accommodation and views were...

Expected a lot based on the website, but it more than lived up to expectations. The location and views from both bed and public rooms were superb. The accomodation was spacious and very comfortable. We included evening meals which were super and found that Yogi poured generously and often. The website advertised an open bar which meant that you found...

Escape the world by spending some time at this luxurious B&B tucked into the tree'd hillside above Opua. Yogi and Glennis will pamper you the second you arrive; with a personal valet service and, if you wish, a gourmet dinner including wines. Although it was too cool during our stay, relaxing in the infinity pool with a glass of wine...

Having just returned from a great trip, travelling around both north and south islands of New Zealand felt I had to sing the praises of this great hotel. From the moment we parked our car we were taken care of. Yogi was there to welcome us by name, tell us not to bother with the car he would sort that out,...

Glennis and Yogi are very warm hosts that provided many suggestions for what to see and do locally, as well as a great breakfast and wonderful dinners. The rooms at the Sanctuary are well appointed, comfortable beds and bedding, and the robes are great for an afternoon nap listening to the birds and looking out to the water. Don't skimp...
