We have been awaiting this review and the ability to respond. We were a bit taken aback while preparing the Inn for the 3:30 arrival time as two people walked in the front door at 11:30 AM demanding to see the rooms. We kindly explained...More
This one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The accomodations were wonderful. Very clean, very comfortable. It felt like home to me.The breakfasts, different every morning ( we stayed for 4 nights ) were delicious and balanced. After coming in from our...More
This place could be really great, but turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment for a short romantic getaway. The view is very nice, with the river and mountains off to the left. The inn itself is cute, the rooms are comfortable (although small...More

Very charming little place and the views are amazing! We loved having wine on the large porch. Went with family for a two day get away. They serve a nice, small breakfast. Great coffee. Wifi not too great.More

We are certainly lucky to have such an amazing view overlooking the New River. As our Inn was built to maximize both the view and guest comfort , our porch certainly lends itself to relaxing outside. Along with the great views and mountains, comes the...More
We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing Inn over Thanksgiving weekend in 2012. They Inn keepers included us in their family Thanksgiving dinner that was absolutely superb! Our room was gorgeous with a breathtaking view.

The Cascade Falls trail head is maybe 6 miles away and well worth it. Relatively easy hike of two miles in and two back out - slight loop to it. If the 4 miles needs to be extended you can go up to Barney's Wall from there. Another more strenuous hike is up to Angels Rest - trail head around 4 miles from the inn. Angels Rest is about 2000' elevation gain in 2 miles along the Appalachian Trail. Non-technical mountain biking about 20 miles away on the New River Trail along the river itself. It is a state park some 50 miles long along a rail-to-trail so not much of a grade. You can grab lunch/dinner at the Draper Mercantile (one can also rent bikes there).
