We were traveling up the Bay by sailboat and found the Gables a great place to stop. The house has it's own dock which was easy to get into/out of. We booked a room for the night and ended up staying 2 because of weather. We got a wonderful tour of the original house by the owner and superb breakfasts...

This B&B in the small Bay town of Reedville delivers large on charm and comfort. We stayed in the converted "Coach" House Inn" along with another couple traveling with us. Upon arrival when checking in, we were afforded to opportunity to tour the 3 rooms on the second floor and found all of them very well appointed. Each had a...

Just a note to thank our wonderful guests for their gracious comments! We do so much enjoy visiting with, and getting to know our bed and breakfast guests. We want to clarify that Television viewing is available in the Captain's recreation Room on the 3rd floor in the Mansion upon request, but we only have Netflix and DVD players in...

After picking my daughter up at Dulles, we decided to explore Virginia's Northern Neck. We spent the first night at the Marriott Fairview Park in Falls Church (an above average hotel in comfort and price) and then wended our way down to Reedville to spend the night in order to visit Tangier Island the next day. The Gables is a...

We had a delightful two-night stay at the Gables. Everything was clean and welcoming. Plenty of clear views of the water, but most interesting was observing a nest of Ospreys visible even from our bedroom window. Barbara, the propriator was more than willing to share with us the history of the place and gave us a guided tour of the...

The town of Reedville markets itself on being very historic, which is emulated by this bed and breakfast. There are three buildings in which you can stay; two more modern and one, 100 year old house. We stayed in the main modern building but we got a tour of the old house. This family has poured their lives into the...

Our room looked out on the water, literally just 10 feet away. Excellent breakfasts (we stayed two nights) and a very nice tour of the interesting old Gables mansion. There's a nice restaurant just a short walk away.

The Gables would have been enjoyable except for the fish factory smell that required the covering of my mouth and nose to breath, but this wasn't mentioned when booking the honeymoon suite. The suite was beautiful and clean except for the sheets and bedspread & pillow shams--I don't think they were washed.

We truly appreciate the feedback from our valued and many repeat guests over the past 22 years! We regret that you were unaware that Reedville, VA is an historic "the town that fish built" since 1874 or before, and we still have a fish oil processing plant across the creek. Occasionally depending on wind shift, we may get some odor...

We had a spur of the moment weekend break and spent a wonderful night being taken care of by Barbara. The room was outstanding, excellent location and Barbara's knowledge of the house and history of the area was most interesting and helpful. Breakfast was delightful and we are sorry we were could only stay one night!
