If you are seeking a luxurious, first class accommodation in a convenient location in Roanoke, you will love the Black Lantern. With a delicious gourmet breakfast cooked especially for you, homemade cookies and soft drinks served in immaculate, spacious surroundings, it’s easy to let the gracious owner, Ron, spoil you. This bed and breakfast is a must see for anyone...

I have been staying at the Black Lantern for over a year for business. During that time, Ron (the owner/innkeeper) delivered superior service day in and day out, changing sheets every three days, putting flowers in my room, keeping my bathroom impeccable with bath towels changed on a daily basis. Ron kindly prepared for me a special breakfast made of...

Cudos to Ron and Claire for all the best details a B&B can offer travelers because they have nailed the concept! My Sunday morning plans changed and I called to ask if I could just park my vehicle in the lot. Ron invited me to go ahead and check in, took my bag to the room, rearranged my room booking...

I found the Black Lantern in desperation: there were no rooms at the Cambria and I wanted to be near the VT Carilion Medical School for an event. I couldn't be more pleased: Ron had taken a condemned property and single-handedly made it into an amazing house. Clare's decorating is lovely. It is spotless and well-maintained. The beds were great....

Do yourself a favor and don't stay at the usual hotel chain found at every interstate exit. For a few extra minutes, you can drive to this lovingly and painstakingly renovated B&B in a pleasant neighborhood a short jaunt from downtown Roanoke. The owners rescued this home from probable demolition and turned it into a wonderful home with 3 very...

One of the best B&Bs we've stayed in yet and a testament to the vision and renovating skills of our host, Ron. We overnighted in Roanoke while traveling between the Skyline drive and Blue Ridge parkway. It was dark when we found our way off the freeway through to the historic district and made our way to the Black Lantern...

I wish there were a 6th, 7th, and 8th star. This B&B raises the standard. So accommodating, so clean, so beautiful. We were here for the Extraordinary Women's Conference and had to head out at 6:30am. Ron had us a quick breakfast fixed & ready to go,complete with to go coffee. I started planning another visit before we left. Counting...

This B & B was like no other . We love to find charming, upscale B & B's when we travel in the US. This one is a find. The finest amenities, mattress (I didn't even know Vera Wang MADE mattresses, i peeked because I loved it so much that I want the same one at my home), exceptional breakfast,...

We stayed in the largest room which is like a private appartment with its own lobby within the house. Everything was new and 101% clean; room was huge, bathroom modern with plenty of very nice amenities. Breakfast, very good, whenever you feel like it. It was really nice to see fresh flowers all around the house including our room.

We loved our stay at the Black Lantern Inn! The house is a beautifully renovated historic home with many modern touches. The food was delicious, with fine dining versions of favorite classics including the best scrambled eggs and french toast I have ever tasted. Ron was the best host. He was helpful with dining recommendations based on what we were...
