I've been remiss in not publicly lauding our second idyllic stay at this charming rural B & B. Once again, we stayed with great friends to attend an opera premiere at nearby Castleton Festival--in itself a uniquely pleasurable experience. On this trip, I clambered up looming little Turkey Mountain and then hiked down to the North Fork of the Thornton...

I searched high and low for a place in or near Virginia where my 83 year old mother and I could transport my newly 60 year old sister -- for fun, relaxation and memories. I looked at The Homestead and The Greenbrier, but staying in a hotel is not a treat for any of us and the rates were exorbitant...

This is our second visit to the Inn at Mount Vernon Farm and I am confident it won't be our last. Without being intrusive, staff made us feel welcome and well-cared for. The accommodations are top notch - great linens, rich woodwork, secluded and a quiet, quiet setting (I didn't realize how much noise there is in the world!). We...

My husband and I spent only a short period of time here, but Jackie made us feel extremely welcomed. The owners suite we stayed in was top notch and being vegans we know it can be difficult for most places to accommodate our needs, so we were pleasantly surprised when we woke up for breakfast the next morning to see...

Every year, we look forward to our stay at The Inn. This year was our fifth year in a row and we have stayed 44 nights in total. In my opinion, not nearly enough and we will be back next fall. Why do we travel all the way from California to stay at the Inn on Mount Vernon Farm? Because...

We arrived at the Inn at Mt. Vernon Farm on a Saturday afternoon, after a beautiful scenic fall drive in the Shenandoah National Park. The Inn at Mt. Vernon Farm sits on a hillside with expansive views of the surrounding rural Virginia landscape in Sperryville, Virginia, where you are immediately transported into a "country mode" if I may. Though we...

I spent the better part of an evening here recently for a wedding. What a lovely spot for an event. The've got a massive barn that was used for the reception (it felt like being on the inside of a giant, wooden whale) and at the top of the hill, up the driveway is where the actual ceremony took place....

My girlfriend and I (34 and 27 years old) stayed at the Inn for 2 nights in October. The owner, "wise" Cliff was incredibly welcoming and a joy to be around. The house is incredibly nice, and despite its long history, very well maintained with top class amenities. The house is on a hill overlooking a beautiful valley, it really...

Recently my friend came from California to visit me in Virginia. A native-Vermonter, she misses the seasons that are absent in southern California. As such we set out for Skyline Drive and hiking in the mountains on a glorious October Day. We just happened on the Inn at Mount Vernon via the Internet as a possible site for an overnight...

My fiancé and I stayed at the Inn after our engagement and had a wonderful time! Mr. Miller was a delight, and everyone was so welcoming. Breakfast was delicious, including the coffee. We really enjoyed being able to walk to local restaurants. Mr. Miller also showed us a great running route. We had a bocce ball competition, hiked Old Rag,...
