We stayed here with our 2 children the weekend of June 14-16. We are a family who loves camping, so let me start with that. If you are looking for a hotel, obviously, this isn't the place you're looking for. Lol. So, we arrived and asked if we could pick our own lot, the attendant told us that was fine,...

We loved this state park. We found a dune side spot with relative privacy and great views. Quiet enough to take our cats on walks. Showers clean, hot & private. Staff very helpful with planning outings. Wonderful 11mile bike trail. Only downside is lack of sewer on site. We'll be back!

Great location adjacent to the inlet of Chesapeake Bay. The RV sites are well separated ( more so than commercial campgrounds). Easy access to the beach via walkways. Most sites are set up to be assigned on arrival. Water and electric only, no sewer hook-ups.

Our family members have been going to this very nice state park on the bay, very near the ocean, for several years. Some of us rent cabins; others stay in the campground, which now has water and electricity in most RV sites. There are walkways across the dunes to the water, where you can swim, fish or crab. Orderly pets...

Sometimes when camping a certain park just hits the spot and this one did. We were in Va Beach after summer season. Weather was perfect and crowds were gone. The State Park has amazing sand dune sites with plenty of privacy from the next site. Campfires allowed. Beach access. Clean hot showers. Water and electric hook ups and dump station....

We went on 8/24/13 and loved it. It was quiet and even though the walk to the beach was a bit far it was worth it. Clean and not crowded at all. I loved that we were able to bring our puppy with us. I did not see any unleashed dogs on the beach at all. Everyone was very respectful...

This state park gives you access to the beach, which is much quieter than the actual Virginia Beach. It is convenient to plenty hotels and restaurants and has an awesome campground with many spots close to the beach. The visitor center has some neat displays and has several fish tanks that my grandson found interesting. There is free wifi at...

“Making a reservation does NOT guarantee a specific site. When you arrive you have to pick the first empty one allotted to what you reserved (ex. electric and water)..some sites are more private where some are in the complete open. Its a little awkward then if you are tent camping.”
