This was our first stay at The Black Horse Inn and it was superb! The room and decor was beautiful, the bed the most cozy I've ever slept on and the breakfast was delicious. There are so many sitting rooms with fire places, wine and cheese and gorgeous views. The staff were wonderful, especially Stephanie, and hopefully we will be...

We spent a very pleasant weekend wine tasting in Virginia and stayed at the Black Horse inn. It is a charming historic inn with well appointed, authentic furnishings and lovely grounds complete with grazing horses and rolling pastures. Our attic room, touted to be recently renovated, was simple and clean. Howevert I think the renovation should have included new carpet,...

A fellow kind innkeeper, who was closed for the winter, suggested the Black Horse Inn, while I was driving 130 miles away in a blinding rainstorm. What a surprise and delight to drive up to this magnificent property, beautifully decorated with elegance and taste...one felt immediately t home. Stephanie Mellott, the innkeeper, welcomed me with tea, sherry or wine along...

The staff were very helpful and charming, with breakfast prepared to order in an elegant dining room. In the evening, the fruit, cheese and wine in the living room and parlour were...

If you are looking for a corporate retreat venue, the Black Horse Inn is magnificent. Lynn, the owner is an amazing hostess. Her staff are diligent and delightful. There was a separate space for the meeting (gilded fox) which was a great physical environment. Food and drinks were abundant and the Inn itself is beautiful. The outside is gorgeous and...
