We celebrated New Year's Eve at the Inn. The theme was Morocco. The staff was dressed accordingly which was a lot of fun. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, it was simply magical. The service is warm, informed and not pretentious. The meal was a series of separate courses featuring pigeon, a very tasty Harira...

There may be a half dozen restaurants in the world as good ... but none better. Frankly, I have wondered how to review this spectacular restaurant and Inn. Speaking from the point of view of a couple who have dined all over the world, this place is, well, spectacular. No it's magical! The other phrase that comes to mind is...

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary there and truly everything was perfect from the accommodation to the dinner to the service, etc. We loved that all our special requests were met and also the little surprise gifts we found in the room! Thank you!

We celebrated my husband's birthday at The Inn at Little Washington. If you can, spend the night. You will not be disappointed. This is hospitality at its finest. Upon arrival, you are greeted and whisked off to enjoy the Inn. You are given a quick tour and a welcome drink (which was so yummy!). We went to high tea where...

The easiest place in the world to let it all wisp away in the gentle Piedmont breeze. Nestled at the base of Blue Ridge foothills, the Inn welcomes you through the looking glass. Whimsical opulence and elegance embraces you from the moment you step through. The staff's mastery of gentile doting without hovering, attention to detail without that antiseptic feel...

Inn at Little Washington was a great but not exceptional experience. We will not likely do it again due to price vs value. Only one course in the dinner was best we've ever had -- the lobster. Now we know what is meant by lobster as tender as butter. Overall, we were very well cared for. This is an eclectic...

Go back to Summer of 2016 -- Our visit to the IALW was "off" - something about the meal left us wondering what had happened to the experience we have had for the past 12 years of visiting this destination. Same place, many of the same people, but the food just missed the mark for us. Some of the ceiling...

The rooms, the decor and the service are gracious, unflagging and a constant delight. There's not much better than the relaxation and beauty of a night at the Inn. Of course, the food at dinner and breakfast is unsurpassed.

My recent experience was great with a gluten free bump in the road which totally surprised me as we did not expect any service bumps. I'd called ahead to alert the staff that I was gluten free. Upon being seated I was provided with a water glass of a different color from my dining friends to distinguish me as gluten...

Dear LouAnne, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback which we greatly appreciate. We will be sharing the comments with the management team and our pastry chef is looking at tweaking the recipe of our in house made gluten free bread. We look forward to welcoming you back again to The Inn in the near future. With...

My wife and I went there to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We had been told about the place and how great it was. And indeed it was! Four valets welcome you as you arrive and park your car. There is no paperwork at a reception (none of that grubby stuff!). Free cocktail awaits you as you arrive. We stayed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Washington, Virginia, The Inn at Little Washington is the only Double Forbes Five Star, Double AAA Five Diamond property in the Washington metro area. The Inn's eighteen bedrooms and suites are sumptuous hideaways created by Joyce Evans, a London stage and set designer, for whom The Inn has become a life's work. Many of the furnishings were purchased in England, numbered and shipped to Virginia to be assembled on site like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Inn offers a range of accommodations from well-appointed rooms to luxurious, two story suites many with balconies and garden views. The Inn's dining rooms are pure fantasy - a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Rose-colored, silk lampshades float above each table creating a private, romantic world below. Chef/Proprietor Patrick O'Connell's creations arrive as if served by invisible hands, course after course more dazzling than the last. From the award-winning 14,000 bottle wine cellar, which includes the finest offerings from Bordeaux, Burgundy, California and Virginia, the Sommelier plays matchmaker between you, your dinner and the wine. ... more   less
