My wife and I have stayed at numerous B&B's in the past. I would say this was definitely above average, but we have certainly stayed at better B&B's. The unfortunate thing is that the night before, we stayed at another B&B literally blocks away and that place BLEW us away (won't mention name. If you want to know which on,...

It's always disappointing when you do your best to ensure that every guest has a exceptional experience, and then read a review like this one. It's also difficult to learn that these particular guests had such a negative impression of the Gay Street Inn when so many others report a very different experience. From time to time, we get a...

We stayed here because we were dining at The Inn at Little Washington which is just a few minutes walk away. Gary and Wendy are absolutely charming hosts, who made us feel very welcome and at home. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, as was the bathroom attached. Everything was clean and sparkling, floors and furniture well-polished. Breakfast the next...

Staying at The Gay Street Inn was an absolutely wonderful experience. Gary and Wendy were very hospitable, the amenities in the room were great, and the views were breath-taking. There was a beautiful garden in the back and an absolutely delicious breakfast included with our stay. It was a short walk from everything, and Gary and Wendy knew all the...

Hosts Wendy and Gary were delightful hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Compfy room and well appointed. Breakfast was wonderful. We had dinner at the Inn at Little Washington. Gary and Wendy told us what to expect (it was amazing) and offered suggestions as to what to try.

The Gay Street Inn is not some old house that somebody fixed up. It is renovated - even putting new henges in the doors - and modernized in all the right places. Elegant bathrooms in each room, beautiful linens on really good beds and a breakfast room that gives a view into the garden. Breakfast was so good. The Gay...

I stayed at the Gay Street inn in Mid-August. I was visiting needed a place to stay at the last minute in Little Washington, and my friend called Wendy and Gary, the owners, who were just arriving back from their own vacation that night but insisted that they could accommodate me and give me a room. I felt a bit...

We've stayed in many B & B's throughout our travels, but none better than the Gay Street Inn. Wendy and Gary were delightful hosts and such a pleasure to meet. The decor was beautiful, comfortable, elegant yet homey, bed was perfect, breakfast was amazing, and the special touches (did I mention the port and chocolate?) too numerous to count. Thank...

We were warmly welcomed by the owners. The Inn is conveniently located to various shops. When we came back after dinner, port and chocolates awaited us in the living room. Breakfast was delicious preceded by coffee (brewed to perfection) and home made muffins. They have a lovely garden and the place was immaculate. Can't wait to go back.

We stayed for a night and have nothing but good things to say. The Inn consists of a beautiful old house with a stunning garden. The owners are lovely and full of great advice for what to see and do in the area (including suggestions for what to order if you have dinner at the Inn at Little Washington). The...

We ended up staying here before heading over to the Inn at Little Washington. It is within walking distance to the surrounding shops and restaurants. Also, it's very easy to drive from here to Shenandoah for day hiking.
