I have stayed at this property before and I will likely stay again as it is convenient, clean, good value, and (usually) helpful staff. However, I was disappointed on my recent stay to learn that they do not service your room during your stay (less than 5 nights). They took away our soiled towels, but didn't leave any new clean ones, and the beds were not made. Is that the "IHG Clean Promise" i.e., just not clean the rooms during a stay? Wasn't that made clear when I booked? Um, no. And it isn't mentioned anywhere in the marketing blurbs on "IHG Clean Promise". Secondly, the breakfast is something I would have expected in the early days of the pandemic when they were scrambling to think of something .. anything .. to call "breakfast." However, more than a year into it, I would expect more creative and appealing options. No reason not to offer better choices, even if they were "to go." How about a breakfast item that you could stick in the room's microwave? A juice dispenser maybe? And why not offer limited, socially distanced seating .. the area restaurants do. Finally, I spoke with the manager on duty who deflected my concerns with literally the opposite of the "own the problem" principle of good customer service. Something about a nameless establishment that sets the policies so no use talking to him about it.…
We had tickets to Busch Gardens on April 30th and reservations at this hotel for that evening. Got to Busch Gardens right when they opened at 10:00 a.m. Turns out BG had changed their schedule that day and decided to open at 3:00 p.m. instead. Thankfully a very nice person at the front desk prepped a room for us and allowed us to check in at 11:00 a.m. It was so nice having a "home base" for the next five hours. We could drop off our stuff, get lunch, and relax. Made it to BG at 3 and stayed at the Holiday Inn that evening afterwards. Great location, very clean and modern. Front desk is very nice. Highly recommend!
We stayed two nights with kids, the room was clean, modern and no issues. Internet was good enough for zoom meetings. The gap underneath the door was enough that you can hear people next door coming and going, but that’s typical of many hotels. Shower was hot and good water pressure. Bed was on the soft side, we are used to very firm mattress at home. We got a room with double queen bed. The breakfast to go bag is a cup of juice and a sweet roll. There’s free coffee in the morning. So get your own breakfast if you need more food. It’s located very close to Busch Gardens, a McDonald’s, Taco Bell, KFC.
I had an amazing time at this hotel and the staff makes it better. The staff was very helpful and every issue we had they was always there to help no matter what situation. They also made the place feel more safe and cozy along with making it feel like home.
I had called the hotel before I left to ask about the breakfast offerings and wanted to know what type of coffee maker was in the room. They told me it was NOT a Keurig. When I got to the room, that's all that was there. I called the front desk and asked about getting hot water for tea (at night) and was told to just pour it thru the Keurig. So my chamomile tea tasted like coffee. The king room was large but not very well thought out. There was no flow to the room. The door to the bathroom and the small refrigerator door are backwards. There are two TV's but only one mirror and that is it in the bathroom. Usually there's a floor length mirror somewhere so you can check yourself out but none was to be found. The bed was comfortable but only king size pillows which are cumbersome. However, the worst part was the train that went by at 3:00 a.m. each morning. When I checked in and we spoke about the room, I specifically asked for a quiet room. This one was by the highway so it also had road noise. I like a cool room to sleep in and I turned the heat off but it was 68 degrees all night which is not cool. Between the train and the heat I hardly slept.…
