I've stayed at the top places in Williamsburg, this is my favorite. Extremely clean and covid friendly, beautifully presented and luxurious. Can't wait to return for my next visit. Customer service people very friendly and helpful, everyone treated you with kindness and respect. Exercise room clean and nicely equipped...use of the exercise room is limited to appointments per family, I hope this is kept after covid.
I previously stayed at this resort in 2010 with my teenage sons so I was excited when I was able to secure a two bedroom for April 2021 - prime time for those on spring break. Although COVID19 has limited a lot of activities, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the theatre was open and reservations were available for your particular party. Other great things: I was able to rent a bicycle, had use of the gas grills to fix dinner, enjoyed my time at the indoor pool and walked through the wooded path. The entire resort team was extremely nice and went out of their way to make our vacation enjoyable. Whether it was a member of the engineering team fixing the toilet or the ice maker - it was addressed immediately, and they did not leave until everything was working properly. The front desk staff was cheerful and welcomed us during check-in. They even noticed a personal document I mistakenly left on the counter, put it in an envelope and called me to pick it up. Even the staff that was cleaning the rooms, painting the hallways or walking the property would wave or yell hello with tons of energy. It was truly an amazing experience and I am looking forward to returning in the near future. P.S. Not sure why so many complained, but the pull out couch, located in the living room, was extremely comfortable. I believe it was a three part foam mattress that was firm (my preferred style) and easy to open and close. I have never enjoyed sleeping on a pull out sofa in the past, but I would even consider purchasing this one for my home. P.P.S. a quick phone call to the resort and they were able to accommodate my request for a particular floor as well as remove items that would affect my allergies, such as feather or down materials.…
the rooms was clean, they have COVID restrictions in place, it was a wonderful visit. We usually visit Williamsburg each year, this was our first time staying at Fords Colony and we will return. There was tennis, an out door pool, The restaurant was closed, but they do have a small marketplace you can buy some food items.
We stayed here for 2 night in a 2 bedrooms unit. The hotel seems to be updated, looks very new and nice. Makes you feel like home! There are lots of cars in the parking lot, but we hardly see anyone during our stay. Eve though the place looks clean on the surfaces, but we did find candy wrappers and crayon on the floor in the both bedrooms. They were behind the door, so looks like the person who clean the room didn’t bother to move the door to look behind it. That makes you wonder if they did clean the room throughly. I would give this place 4 stars if not for Covid. At this time, we would expect more from house cleaning to do their job right!
Nice place and well maintained. Friendly staff and we stayed in nice two bedroom unit. It was very clean. Front desk was fast and efficient during checkin process. Parking is easy. We arrived slightly late and were awaken early in the morning by the grounds keeping gas leaf blower at 6:32am. (That seems a little early....but they were putting down new mulch). Maybe if they really need to work that early they should switch to battery/electric which is much more quiet.
