I've stayed in several of the Colonial Houses and they're great if you're a family who wants to stay together. One of my favorites is the Market Square Kitchen. It has a large fireplace and the staff will come over a build a fire for you. The canopied bed and handicapped accessible bathroom on the first floor are wonderful Upstairs...

We stayed in the first floor of the Nicholas - Tyler Office. It was very comfortable, spacious and had a great location. I would recommend it to anyone. Unit had a Keurig coffemaker, 2 double beds with canopies and lots of comfortable furniture.

We stayed in the Chriswell Bucktrout house. Our rooms were on the bottom floor. One was in the back and had a canopy bed. The other room was in the front and was quite large, with a fireplace. We learned later that Margaret Thatcher had stayed in this room. Staying in these houses have their "drawbacks" (for some people). They...

The "home" in which we stayed was originally an outbuilding for a larger home known as the Moody House. It was refinished very nicely. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Bathroom had modern high-quality plumbing. We would stay here again.

We stayed in the Orrell house and it was amazing. We did not have furniture move on us but we did hear a lot of creaking and had another experience it turned into a night I will never forget as I have never stayed in a haunted house before

The Masonic Kitchen was a fantastic experience. What a lovely house. It was so quaint and private. We enjoyed sitting on the bench on the front patio every night paying Shut The Box while drinking our Old Stitch ale. It was a beautiful house inside and out, and we hope to stay there again and again soon.

We thoroughly enjoy the colonial houses and have now been in at least five. This visit we were in the Chiswell-Bucktrout Kitchen. It is a small free-standing building with a nice well appointed room. The bathroom is clean, yet lacks any electrical outlets. The bed is a canopy queen and quite comfortable.

Our family of 4 stayed 2 nights in this cute little cottage. It's adorable in a beautiful setting. It is a cottage and not the four seasons. The bathroom is 1940's but nice. Cute hexagonal tiles on the floor with sea blue bath tiles and a pedestal sink. The bed was comfortable and the view was awesome. The location is...

So charming! A lovely appointed sitting area greets you as you walk in the door; the sofa turns into a bed. There is even a small garden with seating adjacent to the house. Off the sitting area is a tiny kitchen complete with a sink, mini fridge, Kurig coffee maker and a bit of storage space. Upstairs is the delightful...

From a historical perspective, what can I say that isn't already self-evident (see what I did there?)? Staying in the same inn as Thomas Jefferson and George Washington? Looking out my window over DoG street as the troops march past? Hearing carriages and horses go by, rather than trucks, trains, and planes? If the history and experience of Williamsburg is...
