I HIGHLY recommend the Mountain Rose Inn! It is especially perfect for a couple's long weekend getaway, which was exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for. The property is incredibly charming with its historical architecture and quaint, southern charm. The porches are lovely, as are the delicious gourmet breakfasts served by the hosts, and the grounds are beautiful...

I love the personal attention that B&B inns give and this inn did not disappoint. There is always some excitement when going somewhere new, but along with that some anxiety that all will be okay and up to "husband" comfort standards. Again no disappointments. On arrival there were snacks and sweets plus Sangria or lemonade. The guest fridge was stocked...

This was my first visit to the Inn. I was called prior to the visit with an inquiry of dietary restrictions and my arrival time. I received a warm greeting and immediate tour. The grounds were breath taking.... the water.... the foliage.. My room was beautiful and reminded me of my grandparents home when I was younger. My room was...

My wife and I have been to Mountain Rose four times over the last five or six years, and have another trip planned for the Thanksgiving weekend this year. We've stayed with Mike and Dora Jane a few times, and just met new innkeepers Shelley and Patrick on our latest visit. They are wonderful! Just like their predecessors, they make...

The rooms are exquisite...the grounds are excellent....the winery is just up the mtn, you are right on rock castle Creek. This is a great place for a small wedding! Lots of trails to hike near by. The blue Ridge Parkway is only 20 minutes away. Don't forget to stop at Wade's produce!

On this 3rd visit to the Inn, we were once again beyond pleased. The new innkeepers, Shelley and Patrick, are delightful. They are continuing the high level of service, mouth-watering 3-course breakfasts, and unbeatable quality of comfort. The improvements to the Inn are pleasing and our stay was perfect. We will visit again...hopefully before another 7 years go by...LOL. Thanks...

The website doesn't do it justice. We were in awe of the inn and the innkeepers. Patrick and Shelley made us feel very welcome. The inn is beautifully maintained and you definitely feel as you have stepped back in time. The breakfast deserves 5 stars for the food, service and setting. Our room was quaint and comfortable. Floors are a...

This was our first time at the Mountain Rose Inn, but Lord willingly, not the last! The Inn, the grounds, the food...everything was absolutely amazing!!! It was such a relaxing getaway! Shelley and Patrick truly have a gift for hospitality! They are so kind and welcoming -like old friends! And the food; oh my word!!! The only negative thing about...

Thank you, Rebecca, for your heartfelt review. We are so thrilled that we were able to create a true get away for you both and wish we had the chance to chat with you more than we did. Please have Rudy bring his guitar WHEN you return. Warmest regards, Shelley and Patrick

We love B&B's and stay at them whenever possible. This is one of the best we've tried. We spent most of a week driving the Crooked Road and listening to lots of "the fiddle and banjo stuff." Innkeeper Patrick also plays a mean acoustic guitar. One warning: you are truly in the boondocks, but that's the point. The nearest decent...

Thanks so much for the great shout out Bob and Kathy. We agree that part of the charm of the area is that we are truly a "get-away-from-it-all" kind of destination, so we try to provide amenities to that end. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting you poolside and hope you will come see us again when you are out our way....

I have been fortunate to have been well traveled in my life and experienced 5 star establishments. Mountain Rose Inn kicked their butt. The inn was beautiful. The property was immaculate. Food delicious (I know as a chef I was impressed ). My guests were treated like royalty. The innkeepers went above and beyond any expectations. They took care of...
