We have stayed at a Travelodge in the past with positive experiences but this experience wasn't comparable. On arrival at the hotel it appeared to be clean and inviting; of course with a low priced hotel we weren't expecting five star quaity. The front desk attendent was very friendly. As we headed to the room the carpets on the stairs were very dirty and in desperate need of cleaning and/or replacing, the back doors to the parking lot were open but it seemed to be a quiet neighbourhood so I wasn't to concerned. When we entered the room it was standard no frills. The bathroom was clean but there was a few stray hairs on the door and in the shower, that didn't appeal to me. Above the bed was some dark brown sprays which in my opinion should have been repainted as it resembled blood. There was a picture dated in the late 70"s hanging next to the bed, it showed its age and at some point a moth got trapped between the glass and the picture and was squished, As with all hotels I pulled back the covers to expose the bed sheets as I know they are fresh; there was a stain evident on the sheets, it most likely should have been treated before washing but wasn't. I did call the front desk but housekeeping was gone for the day so he provided us with another set of sheets and we had to change the bed ourselves! We only spent an overnight there on our journey and was happy about that. The mattress was quite comfortable though. I don't think I would stay in this hotel again. I would have voiced my displeasure on check out but the front desk clerk that morning was very unfriendly and seemed to rush us out the door.

Somebody was already inside the room when we tried to open our door, never had that experience before. Laundry machine didn't work. Soaps and shampoos were organic, breakfast area was dirty and not much choice.

First, I'd like to mention that we found the security / key system of the hotel very acceptable - perhaps it has been upgraded since some earlier reviews. We were also pleased to have an on-site, alert front desk clerk available for late check-in. We also were pleasantly surprised that the street noise was not bothersome (and grateful that our hallway neighbors were quiet).

However, this hotel is DIRTY, dirty, dirty...in every way. The hallway was filled with trash - empty tobacco tins, beer bottles, food trays, etc... The room had crunchy carpeting and a sticky bathroom floor. Even the clock radio was sticky. We inspected the sheets carefully, and they seemed acceptable. Due to our late check in, and one-night reservation, we decided to make the best of it and stay, but had no desire or appetite to take advantage of the free breakfast. I can't imagine the kitchen being any more clean than the rooms, since they are managed by the same staff. We certainly would never stay here again, and are passionately urging our friends to avoid the place, as well.

Got. “New” room and a new paint job and shampooed carpets…I found 3 cockroached and several people came up to the lobby begging for things and the cops were threatened. Avoid this place at all costs…the lady refused to even give me her name..

I rarely, very very RARELY write reviews, however, I feel compelled to warn anyone considering staying at this dreadful hole to avoid it at all costs. First red flag, dirty disgusting carpet that had not been cleaned (for who knows how long), bed covering full of holes and I never slept in the sheets (didn't wanna take a chance) and finally the coup de grace. A leftover turd in the toilet that had not been flushed. When I told the first desk clerk about it, there was no mention of a refund or any sort of compensation. Not even an apology. Just, "I'll let housekeeping know" Here's a suggestion.......LEVEL the place and start over.

Owner of the place yelled at my friend, called him homeless. Didnt believe he was disabled, or his dog was a service animal. He was a paying customer. Atrocious behavior and prejudice. I would find a better place to stay that won't treat you like you are not deserving of a room to sleep in.

I enjoyed much of the place, but next door would not turn their music down. Even after calling the Front Desk twice. It seemed like the front desk clerk working 3 pm to 11 pm. Was not going to take care of the constant noise.

I recently stayed at the Travelodge due to a bicycle ride I was on that went through Bellingham. Their normal rate is rated on your website as $38-58, however I just paid $99 to stay in the filthiest room ever!! I was given a smoking room (they were full). The carpet was stained, the upholstery on the chairs was stained, the lamp shades were burned & melted, the tv top was melted & the power cord was spliced, the bedspread had a hole in it, the curtains had holes in them and were sticky. The sheets & towels were thinner than anything I had ever seen in my life.

I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ever stay there again.

The smell, stained carpet, walls and furniture had us checking out an hour after checking in. I feel like im contaminated and im actually honestly worried I may have a bug or two from there. I do not suggest staying here at all. My husband and.twin boys are happy to be home.

At 11:01 am owner rudely called our room. At 11:05 she came banging on our door telling us to check out. She literally banged on the door and then preceded to open it! Imagine if we were changing. I've never experienced such rudeness.
The hallways stunk of smoke. The room was not clean enough and I inspected the mattress for bedbugs thankfully I found none. At 2 am a patron down the hall was screaming his head off however the young male clerk who was nice did go upstairs to tell the guy off and to quiet down.
I did not feel safe in this hotel the outside doors have no lock and anyone could enter the hotel without a key via the back door! Very dangerous. The rooms are stale and not extremely clean, also you can hear everything and when someone has a bath you swear they are bathing in your suite its so loud.

The rate is very cheap and in a area nearby to amenities but with the extreme rude service from the woman at checkout and the lack of safety at this hotel and smell I would not return.
