There aren't many amenities but there is a small pool and a playground. The rates were very reasonable relative to the other motel type properties in town. I would definitely consider staying here again as the value for what you get is horrible in Chelan. I would recommend it if your standards are reasonable and you aren't planning on spending all day lounging in your room. We found the management to be pleasant and had no issues like some other reviewers.
What a pleasant surprise. At the time they were just putting the finishing touches on a significant exterior update and it really looked good. Great pool area, nice room with older – as in nice style older, not old and worn out – furnishings, place on the grass outside to sit. And the owners were just downright lovely and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

The owners are on site and are super friendly, they have put effort and time into their business and it shows! The bathtub here was installed and sealed better than the one at my apartment, the sheets were fresh and clean (no bedbugs or insects in our room), and the room smelled clean. Not like "it smells like air freshener that is meant to cover up something". It was just...clean. No strong smells at all.
The only thing that wasn't nice was the beds. The mattresses were firmer than I am used to, and the pillows were floppy, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
Overall it was great! If I go back to Lake Chelan I will absolutely stay here again!
Re: point 1), The Lake Chelan Motel passes. The room and its furnishings are nice. Not immaculate, some of the furnishings were ancient, but overall it was satisfactory. The TV was a small 13" with a limited selection of channels. The towels were old and a bit beat up (sandpapery), but okay.
Re: point 2), The room was clean, and the property was clean. So the Lake Chelan motel passed on this point also.
Re: point 3), This is where the hotel fell flat on its face. Upon entering our room (room #10), we heard the sound of saws and hammering. We looked out the back window. We were disappointed to see a construction crew building a big back deck onto the resident managers home, within 20 feet of our window. This new back deck was being built to overlook the motel pool. I obviously was not pleased about the noise. I asked if there was another room available. There was not. I then asked when the construction would end. I was told it was just about done. This was at roughly 4pm. We went to dinner, and walked around downtown Chelan, and returned to the hotel at about 7pm. The construction was still proceeding. I waited until 7:30pm, then went and talked to the construction guys directly. They said they would stop at 8pm. About 10 minutes later, I was standing outside of my front door, enjoying the evening air, when the resident manager Rudy confronted me. He was hot. He said he did not appreciate me talking to his crew, and said that if I did not like the noise I should just close the window and shut the curtains. Then he angrily spouted that if I did not like the noise, I should wait until 7 am tomorrow morning, when he said he would instruct the crew to return. I avoided being drawn into a confrontation with angry Rudy. I went and talked to his co-manager/wife (who's name I cannot remember). She promised the construction would not begin prior to 9am the next morning.
You can imagine how disappointed I was when the construction commenced the next morning at 8am. We were already up, but still, the promise was 9am, and we were forced out of our room by the noise. I did not say anything about it. If the managers were willing to ignore a promise made the night before, what was the point of saying anything?
For the balance of our stay, any time I saw Rudy, he never said hello, even when he looked right at me (and I certainly saw him say hello to other guests). I tried to take the high road. I smiled at him, even waved once, and he just glared back at me.
The pool area is an area where families let their kids run wild and scream their heads off. I'm not going to go off on a rant about bad parenting. All I will say is if your okay with that, fine, if your not, certainly do not accept a booking for room #9 or room #10, as they are located directly next to the pool.
The fact the local manager's house has a big deck overlooking the pool is also something to think about. Rudy was constantly hovering around the pool area, either standing on his deck, or puttering around doing busy work. It gave me the creeps, as if all us guests were under his surveillance. It did not feel like a hotel pool, it was almost as if we were trespassing in Rudy's pool.
In the end, I was very disappointed about not being treated politely, like the paying customer that I was. When I as a guest complain legitimately about construction noise, I should hear an apology and an immediate cessation of the noise. Fact is, when noisy construction is going on, the motel should not IMO rent rooms immediately adjacent to the construction area. The fact that the local managers think it is okay to expect guests to put up with intrusive construction noise shows their lack of customer service orientation.
This motel is attended by Clara and Rudy (managers)
On Friday night we went to the pool with our son and when Rudy approach to us to say : "Hi", we noticed clearly that he was drunk.
Saturday morning (9:40 a.m.) we went to the reception office and nobody was there (???).
When finally Rudy appears he was wearing his bathrobe and with evident signs he was still drunk.
When we complain about we had NO Internet (they rent the room saying :"WI FI Access") he just said he couldn't do nothing and if we want...we can leave (!!!) and show us a sign : "NO REFUNDS".
Now I know why they charge in advance and have that sign !!!
Like customers that pay for a service they say they will provide, we deserve a minimum of respect (same we gave to them).
This incident is unacceptable. We are not going back to that place anymore and we think it will be helpful for future guests to know about our bad experience.
Then next day I go back in after not getting a phone call and the owner proceeded to tell me I was a no show and that I will be charged for not occupying the room. She stated that I was to check in at two and that she waited for me. at this point we were yelling at each other. She then proceeded to tell me I was going to be charged for the whole weekend!!!!! I was so mad I walked out, that was it not a sorry for the mix up, total miss understanding, sorry we just about ruined your whole vacation nothing!!!!!! I would never recommend any one to stay here again. My advice, I say pay the little extra money and stay at the best western!!!!!!!!!
When my son tried to take a shower the next day, still no hot water. complained to the desk, and was told each unit had its own hot water tank. How was I to Know? I don't have a screwdriver, and start taking apart panels in the room! They had the hot water back quickly, but not quickly enough as we needed to check out. They have very strict checkout time, and they did not offer to extend the checkout time nor give a rebate back on the room. Our tough luck. When I said that I would never stay there again-they responded-Fine. We don't care.

"Very small hide-a bed. When we complained how short the bed was-they said, well we didn't know how tall you were going to be. Expect a I don't care attitude, and you won't be disappointed."Read full review
