After browsing so many options for hotels online we decided to go with Arkaba.
I have to stay it was the best decision, the room, service, food (bistro & room service) was better some of the money we’ve spent at high end 5* hotels we’ve stayed at before.
Staff were great! There was a power cut in the gaming lounge one night but it was resolved quickly and efficiently.
We stayed in a Executive Spa Suite (worth every extra $ spent) with a gorgeous modern bathroom including a large freestanding spa bath and tv.. makeup mirror etc.. the bedroom itself is huge with the most comfortable bed (4 pillows) and blackout blinds.

I would highly recommend staying here for a stay just outside of the city.

We live in the Barossa, my partner had some cardiac issues. Tests earlier in the day resulted in a late evening appointment with the cardiologist in Adelaide, followed by emergency admission to hospital with angiogram booked for the morning.
Strung out, knowing I wasn’t safe to drive 60km home and having not eaten since an early lunch I went searching for accommodations who would provide stress free parking, something to eat and a glass of wine.
I called 6 high end city hotels, not one could provide me with this. It was a long time ago but I remembered staying at the Arkaba when watching EPL football, always accomodating and fab.
I called a little before midnight, yes to rooms, yes to free onsite fuss free parking, yes to wine and yes to a packet of chips ( yes I had got to that level of questioning and I expect people are thinking just go to a servo for food. I was so exhausted and stressed and alone) and even the possibility of a toasted sandwich. 😊
I arrived, wrecked, was greeted with everything I needed. Great considerate service. Lovely clean room. Back down to the bar area. Signed the Covid forms with an explanation of my day. So nice to have people who honestly cared.
Toasted sandwich made with care and love, thank you Megan.
Wine and a warm comfortable space. Bliss.
Following day I had an early call saying the procedure was happening in an hour, rushed, leaving the do not disturb on the door ( I was messy, yes I would clean up for the cleaning lady)
On my return, late yet again there was a bag with “Sorry we missed you” with all of the consumables they would normally service the room with. I had used nothing really but the kindness was overwhelming.
Dinner in the restaurant, great. Megan even said hello as she passed by.
In room breakfast this morning as I had so many people I needed to keep updated. It was fabulous. Poached eggs, spinach, bacon and toast. Simply perfect. Check out friendly and easy.
Thank you so very much Arkaba for reducing the stress of a difficult few days with your amazing people skills.
I could not recommend you highly enough.

Plenty of free undercover parking, check in was easy and staff were efficient, polite and friendly.
Our room was on the 6th floor and larger than the normal jolted/motel room. Bedside control touch panel operated everything including tv, lights and air-con and was easy to operate. TV also included 2 movie channels, Nickelodeon (for the kids), Max and others, included in the cost (a nice extra touch). Bathroom was of a good size and well appointed. Only down sides for me were although we were on the 6th floor traffic noise was quite apparent, double glazing would fix this problem and there was no grab rail in the shower, which are very helpful for the older clientele, otherwise would consider Arkaba to be 5*

Definitely worth a visit, it's a restaurant, hotel, sports bar.
Centrally located, rooms nice and clean. Food average, a bit pricey for how much you get. Salmon was overcooked and dry, a shame considering the price the puree tasty but almost non existent, would recommend sides. Cocktails were lovely and a bargain at $10 during cocktail hour. Drink Service was a bit slow and breakfast hot drinks forgotten, food came out reasonably quickly. Staff friendly.

Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did.

Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised.

When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining.

On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too.

When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy.

The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer.

Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro.

All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

Got a free “upgrade” from a deluxe room to a deluxe room (twin) which put us on the top floor.

I have a broken ankle and am on crutches and in a air boot and have had recent surgery.

It took 40 minutes for a cocktail to arrive in the new lounge.. food was great.

Zero sleep due to concrete cutting and roadwork construction going on outside all night.. maybe supply some ear plugs? It’s clear you know this is happening..

We were fire evacuated at 4am. I had to try and get down 6 flights of stairs on crutches during the evacuation. I had marked on my booking I was on crutches and had mobility problems, no one checked up on my welfare.

An older lady slipped and had a fall in the stairwell and was bleeding heavily during the evacuation.

I had to lay in the backseat of our car as I couldn’t stand up.

Everyone assembled outside. No staff turned up and talked to us. No one told us we could go back in. Nothing.

A guy abruptly asked room number when we walked in.

Other patrons tell us this has happened multiple times in the last few days.

We’ve always stayed at the Arkaba on overnight stays in Adelaide. We won’t anymore.

Your staff need a lesson in hospitality.

Hi Andrew & Leesa Thanks for your review, we are sorry things didn't go as planned during this recent stay. The fire alarm incidents have now been resolved and although on this occasion they were false alarms, it does show the Evac system working as designed and informing guests in the case of emergency. As in all emergency incidents, once one of the services arrive they become the controllers and our wardens are under their direction until such time as the incident is declared over and give the all clear. Unfortunately this may mean we are unable to offer any updates until that time and when guests are able to return to their rooms. The lady in question who tripped returned a few hours later from Hospital after receiving treatment and has recovered well at home. These guests recently phoned and expressed thanks to the other guests who asisted in the emergency and to our team for the care upon her return. After any incident, Management conduct a review with our teams and in our Emergency Response training throuhgout the year. We reassure all of our guests their safety and well being is of the utmost importance to us and we are investigating ways we may be able to improve timnely communication for future especially when staffing may be at a minimum. The roadworks have been problematic for all concerned and we understand only to well their lack of appreciation toward our guests & the impacts on your stay. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, they do not advise when nightworks noise may be intrusive and are well outside of our control. We do have earplugs for those requesting them and would encourage any guests experiencing issues to contact our friendly team for assistance. Thanks again for your feedback, we are truly sorry this recent stay fell short and you wont be returning. Kind Reagrds Damian Accommodation Manager

Needed to stay one night in Adelaide, chose here as it was nearer to the function than city hotels. Was a friendly check in, easy free parking. Different areas to have dinner or just relax with a drink. Room was clean, spacious and well appointed, especially the lovely bathroom. No view to speak of but that was not required for an 18hr stay ! Furnishings a little dated but in excellent repair. Main issue was being in the room next to the main housekeeping area and guest laundry room. Not massively bad but still a tad noisy. Perhaps investigate additional sound proofing ? Despite this, would consider returning.

We regularly stay in Adelaide and always drive past this hotel. We'll, we decided to stay there and were pleasantly surprised. Well appointed room and excellent facilities especially in the bathroom. Secondly the restaurant, of which there is a la carte or more standard "pub fare". These are open until 10.00pm on a Sunday which was much appreciated. Finally parking was so easy too which can be a problem staying within the Adelaide CBD.

Shuttle service from Airport and also to train station?
Answer from AnnaHHG
Adelaide, Australia
Hello, Unfortunately we do not offer an airport or train station shuttle. However, the airport is only 10km away, which is usually takes less than 15 minutes to drive. A taxi to or from the airport is generally $25-$30. Alternatively, public transport is available but this involves a bus change in the city. Public transport from the train station is very simple though. There is a bus that goes from the train station directly to the hotel. Please feel free to contact reception if you would like any further information. Thank you, Anna

No breakfast is not included. I always go to a little bakery just out the back door of the hotel in the shopping center. Much cheaper and great Croissants.
