My daughter and I stayed here for a week, they say don't judge a book by its cover. This is definitely the case here. The building might be rough on the edges, however the rooms themselves are clean and reasonably priced. I've stayed at a lot of these type of older motels and was expecting that old funky smell that usually comes with the room. However I was pleasantly surprised that the room smelled fresh and clean. The husband and wife team that manage this little mom and pop motel were very attentive and respectful to of us. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling thru the Colville area whether it's just 1 night or many.

We stayed in room 17, second closest to the main road. Check in was easy even on the Christmas holiday. You can tell they have done some basic updates, but they did not replace the old nasty padded headboard that reeked like stale smoke. I specifically requested a non-Smoking room. I had to sleep backwards in the bed to try and get away from the smell. The bedding was clean and comfortable. I was told the smaller bed was not very comfortable and its close to the window wall so you could hear people walking down the sidewalk thru the AC that was covered over. The floors are tile they look clean but VERY cold in the winter. The bathroom does not have a heater, so it also gets VERY cold. The TV does not have a pivoting arm so the second bed cannot see the TV. The bathroom sink drained slow and the outlet was broken.

Nothing fancy. Great motorcycle motel. Cute rooms, great air conditioning after a hot motorcycle ride. Television cut in and out and the room has a toilet that wasn’t flushed. Overall staff was friendly, gave good recommendations to dinner, would stay again.

We pulled into the hotel and the girl checking us in seemed like a drug user. We went to our room and 2 meth users in a paranoid state approached us and thought we were cops. There was a broken bike outside our door and the bathroom said dont flush kitty litter.

I stayed at The Selkirk Motel for about 6 weeks while on business in Colville. I chose The Selkirk because of the great rates, but stayed because of the outstanding service. Paul and Shari went way out of their way to make the stay great. They put on BBQ's and dinners for the guests and really made the stay a lot of fun.

My wife and I stayed at the Selkirk for two nights while waiting to leave for the Seattle area. We were greatly pleased at the service, especially the changes which are in progress from Sheri and Paul, the new manager's at the Selkirk. The water is a little hot for me so watch the shower! Otherwise, with continued improvements, this is sure a nice place to stay.

I stayed here for one night of a 25 night US & Canada road trip spanning July & August. This is a "Mom & Pop" type of motel, which is currently being renovated, although I thought it still offered good value for money. Shari (the manager) is an absolute sweetheart and takes a real pride in making sure you're well looked after (the cake was fab!).

My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the surroundings were quiet. Check-in was fast & friendly and there's a Safeway a couple of minutes drive away if you want to stock up on a few bits & bobs or cereal, milk, etc for breakfast (my room had a fridge).

Would I stay here again if I was in the area? Definitely!

We visited Colville in November and knew we had to stay at the Selkirk based on a referral we received from a family member. We were not let down! Starting at the friendly greeting from the Motel staff, to a delightful room, and great coffee anytime I needed some! I felt at home with Shari and Paul (managers). They made it feel like I was at a family cabin enjoying a relaxing vacation. Thank you for the outstanding service! I can not wait to visit again!

I have stayed in this motel twice and have always found the staff to be very friendly and lovely. The manager Shari is particularly helpful :)
The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the whole place has a cheerful, efficient feel to it. I have no hesitation in recommending it to other travelers. This motel suits everyone - couples/ families/ friends etc etc..
