In August 2015 my wife and I stayed for a week at the Kingfish Inn. We had the "Madrona Suite" (also known as Rm 3 on the upstairs floor at the end of the hall). After we arrived, we were disppointed to learn that the Kingfish Inn no longer offers breakfasts - which was one of the main reasons we...

Thank you very much for the very detailed and helpful review. We really appreciate reviews like yours that help us make the experience better for the next guest. We do try. Thus, we are happy to announce (since we were one of the first to get it when made available on island) that Kingfish Inn has very fast and reliable...

We had a short stay at the Kingfish but were very happy, the view from the Alder Suite over the sound was beautiful and it was very quiet in general. Though the other suites were also occupied we hardly ever saw or heard our neighbors and the private deck was ideal to relax at the end of a day of...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. Privacy was very important to us and we took extra care in insulating the rooms for noise. We are glad that you were able to relax while with us and hope to see you again.

We enjoyed two nights at the Kingfish Inn - beautiful views, setting, location and comfortable room. We had a great meal at the Cafe, took walks to the marina and it is easy to drive to Eastsound and Mt Constitution. Oh, the service by Richard was fantastic.

We often say that the those who arrived early really knew where the views were. The Kingfish Inn Building (Circa 1902) was one of the first buildings in real-estate parlance most desirable West Sound. We agree, the setting sets it apart.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Kingfish Inn. We stayed in Suite #4 Spruce, and we were so delighted with the room. It exceeded our expectations. There was a beautiful hummingbird that would great us daily, and a Bald Eagle that landed in a tree right next door and stayed for a while. So spectacular. Very relaxing,...

Thank you for mentioning our friendly eagle. It hunts for breakfast on the beach in front and it is quite a treat to see him swooping after its prey. Please come back to visit Orcas Island and Kingfish Inn again.

The location, the charming rooms, the stellar view from the room and deck, and the wonderful restaurant made this a wonderful place to stay. Location was perfect for day trips kayaking and then just retiring to the room before heading downstairs for a wonderful dinner. So charming and relaxing. They no longer serve breakfast and the fact that once you...

Weather ended up being excellent for October. The room was nice with a beautiful view. Complimentary breakfast was cooked for us downstairs in the cafe every morning and was DELICIOUS! Kathy, our hostess was very nice and welcoming and had lots of suggestions for things to do on the island. Looking forward to staying here again :)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. Kathy is still with us but she no longer cooks breakfast. She puts juices, yogurt, fruits and snacks in the individual refrigerators provided in the rooms. With just 4 rooms and guests going out on outings early or having many dietary constraints, we found only one couple out...

We had a fantastic stay at the Kingfish Inn. Our room was quiet and comfortable, had an amazing view of the water and fabulous personal amenities including an in-room keurig machine, complimentary breakfast in their restaurant and the most comfortable bed that gave us quality sleep. I'd recommend this sweet Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing "home away from...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us. Did we mention that all our beds are extra thick NOVA Foam with gel-top. We replaced our very expensive sleep number bed with the same after many guests commented on how well they were sleeping. We agree with them.

Kingfish inn looks like an old farmhouse, perched right on the road overlooking a peaceful harbor. Our room (Alder) was very spacious, with a private deck overlooking the harbor. We awoke each morning to the sound of gentle rain on the tin roof. We had a comfy queen bed with just the right amount of covers, and a moveable fan...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate reviews that help make the experience better for future guests. With our climate warming each year, all our inn rooms come with ceiling fan as well as the stand up fan. The ceiling fan is very quiet.

Great rooms with terrific food in the restaurant. The harbor is quiet and little else is here, making for a quaint and quiet time to get away ... a fantastic place to walk down and just sit on the boat! Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us. Our staff at the West Sound Cafe work very hard at seating our guests at Kingfish Inn. We were welcomed as friends, by our first names. Superior service and cleanliness. Great view, great food, great all around experience. Centrally located on the island and easy to find. Kayaking the san Juan's is right out the front door Gas fireplace, superior bed, great food and even better people.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With just four very individual suites, Kingfish Inn housed in a historic 1902 building, is a treasured Orcas Island secret. At the junction of two designated scenic byways, our Inn is just steps away from the sparkling waters of West Sound and the bucolic and verdant farmlands of Crow Valley. Kingfish Inn is the perfect place to experience the healing "magic" of Orcas Island, the most spectacular of the San Juan islands. Having operated All Dream Cottages on Orcas Island for many years, we appreciate our guests desire for a more romantic and private lodging experience. We strive to provide that cozy and intimate, yet comfortable space for our Inn guests. We respect your privacy and unless asked, no one enters your space while you are here. Lie in bed all day with a good book or just sit still looking at the ever changing views from your window. Kingfish Inn is NOT a Bed and Breakfast. We do, however, provide coffee makers, tea and COMPLIMENTARY breakfast items like fresh fruit, yogurt, juice) in a small in-room refrigerator so that our guests may start their day on their own schedules. ... more   less
