Friendly staff experience upon check-in. I received a spacious upstairs queen bed room with sofa and coffee table, table and two chairs, large dresser, large desk, fridge and microwave oven. The room did not have a pleasant smell. I could not turn on a few lights and the TV. Staff came promptly to fix these issues. I also asked for - and received rags and cleaner to clean the bugs of my motorcycle. Very appreciated! A grab-n-go breakfast included big muffins and danish, several fruit and good coffee. But .... this property is large and it looks like many "guests" are long-term residents. A lot of parking lot activity including noisy cars and loud music.
We stayed one night and found the Western Inn to be a good value. The price was good and the be was fine, but don't expect the Hampton Inn - it isn't. We will go there again if we need a place to stay in the area.
The hotel lobby was clean, the room passible. Problem was room had flees. My husband had a flee jump on his arm in the room. Room had slightly musty smell. It wasn't until around 6 pm my husband noticed drug deals happening in parking lot. Also, on the one end of hotel top floor there was a rotating group of prostitutes. When leaving the hotel in back leaning against dumpster were two bloody mattresses. My husband let me know that the hotel is in a bad area and he is surprised that Expedia is recommending it. He also said,"Please, let me know if you want something from the car, all walk you. It is not safe out there." I felt really bad for putting us in that situation. But it seems only good reviews are showing up when I was checking to see what people said about the place.
Was going to have surgery and Madigan Army Medical Center the next day and living 1 and 1/2 hours away, decided to make reservation to stay close. Did not take my time to do my normal research and paid the price. $192 for two nights in a room I would not have even considered if I wasn't locked in. I posted pictures on Bookings.com.
We helped our grandson and his fiancé move up to Tacoma from California. Made the reservations 2 weeks in advance. I made a note when I made the reservations that I needed to be on the 1st floor because of disabilities. We checked in yesterday, and immediately the woman knew my name and was so helpful. As she was getting the paperwork, I mentioned that I hoped that it was on the fist floor, and she smiled and told me that she read my note and "yes, not only on the first floor, but in the handicap room". What a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, and so clean. Also, there was no outside noise, and no heavy thumping from up above. We went in to the office this morning to check out and she reminded me not to forget breakfast. It wasn't a huge breakfast, but being able to grab some coffee, a muffin and a banana was wonderful for us. I definitely will go back when we visit the grandkids.…
